HEY!!! wanna know a good idea? why dont all the ukrainian dance groups stop killing eachother and we can promote ukrainian dance together?! good idea huh? i have close friends in volya, cheremosh, dunai, vohon, shumka, viter, tryzub...you name it.....so why cant everybody else be like that...sure rivalries are strong in edmonton...so why not change it then? work together?
I went to that show at the citadel in edmonton! It was wonderful. Oh, and everyone else can shut up with the rude comments! I've been to shumka dance camp the past 2 years and it's amazing. Shumka is a an amazing gruop. =]
I like how you think that Dunai is a competative group. I saw both dance groups at a same wedding and theres no comparison. Shumka is far better than many groups I've seen. Only Cheremosh and Shumka are the main Ukrainian rivalries in Edmonton, and somewhat Volya. Just because some dances Shumka does is not all ukrainian doesn't mean their terrible. A group is terrible if they lack dancers that are good, but Shumka has amazing dancers. Im sorry, but your not a very bright person in my opinion.
Theres indeed alot of groups in edmonton for ukrainian dance, but there more groups that are recreational. Maybe 3 or so that are the top rivalries, and so far shumka I've seen has the best quality of dancers. Thats just my opinion

This was a wonderful performance (not perfect,far from it) but it wasn't so horrible as to deserve your rude and thoroughly incorrect words.

im in Viter, and, make no mistake, i believe that as a whole, our group is WAY better than Dunai (where have they performed thats prestigious) and quite on par with Volya. But we are nowhere NEAR as good as shumka. We have 5 dancers that quit Shumka to come back. they are amazing dancers. Much better than any other dance group-SHUMKA! the legacy lives on 50 years and counting

lol shumka what a waste of ukrainian dancers. They are not as good as volya or dunai yet they think they are. Its disapointing it really is.

Thank you. Finally, in 3 years being in Edmonton, I can see Shumka. ... In favt it is not pure Shumka, rather Kyiv ballet with Shumka.
