It is absolutely essential that McNish gets a brain scan (probably already has had one) and that he pays close attention to how he feels the next 48 hours. An impact like that can cause life-threatening injuries that don't become visible to the person for some time. I'm certain Audi's doctors and the circuit's neurologists are all aware of this and have done as much as can be done to make sure he's ok.
The driver of the ferrari said he look in the marriors ans didnt see anybody and the pit streight,Then look again after the dunlop bridge and saw 1 audi but not Allan
Yeah, Audi decided that with the new regulation chances, open cock-pit would not be advantgeous so they went bac k to the closed. And do those LED lights look awesome!.
@TheWolfWarrior25 Exactly. Despite being harder to see I think the closed cockpit is a good choice for Audi. The Ferrari I believe didn't see the McNish come up through the blind hill as he gunned it into the corner.
It is unfortunate and I hope the last R18 can make it through to the end. They've worked really hard this year for their new design after being stripped of their diseal royalty.
Stupid

@Artofkaos were you the guy running from the wheel? that would have sucked so much
this truly suprised me, McNish was the last person i thought would have crashed in this race, i half expected him to win this!

Scariest moment of his career? Sadly, about 20 years back, a spectator wasn't so lucky in an accident that was no fault of McNish.

@TheWolfWarrior25 Life of motorsport.
Rally racing is in a sense more dangerous than this. People spectate on open roads and are less than 5-10 m from cars sliding through corners.
But modern technology has saved the spectators and the driver from this crash.

@MRNASCARFAN25 It was in a blind spot of the canopy. F1 Monaco corners are like that too.

Oh man, that was close, but part of the scene I guess. considering the speed, the car held up well.

A few minutes before the crash, I was thinking, after seeing his driving in the mulsanne
straight, that there was no room anymore for safety margin ...
