This reminds me.. when i was in Elementery school, I used to do just that when giving (anyone) a gift b/c were poor. I never had money to go buy something for anyone. half the 'gold' is in the rarity of his appearance -- for me, at least. creed-commentary is unexpected for the most part; as far as 'minor employee' commentary clips, it's much more common to see kevin, phyllis, andy, ryan, etc.

so just when you least expect it... BAM! it's creed, with something totally out of left-field, often having little to pertain to the 'plot' of the episode at all.
