Imagine dreaming and in a single night seeing your entire life in its entirety, and waking up as a child. Would you change a thing, or would you embrace your dream and love your life, flaws and all? Would you try to forget your life, hoping it would never end... that you would never die, because of fear? Would you know that if you change a single thing, your life would have a blind purpose, that you may never really live at all? Imagine that it happens, every night, everywhere. Imagine.
I've been a hip-hop head since the late 80's but Shad is the only artist who has taken me on an emotional journey throughout an album (infact all of his albums) and brought a genuine smile to my face, without even realizing it. The man is a genius. One love.
rap [no mainstream] has a lots of great artist who uses great lyrics
and write good poety
and this song is amazing
to be honest i hate those medieval time songs, the ones who wrote them where in one way or another related to mass mardering of people who didnt go by the mainstream
and this is where rap is much more real, and poetic then any other classic poetry/music
@oddfuturesupporter You are not alone. I get goosebumps from so many Shad songs. Examples: Keep Shining, I'll Never Understand, At the Same Time, I Heard You Have a Voice Like an Angel. Shad is truly amazing. In a world of so many fake artists, I think the best compliment to Shad is that he's human.
@FuzzyLogic211 I have a feeling that if I knew you we'd be best friends :P your views are EXACTLY the same as mine, and the songs you mentioned also make me feel something as well. That's how you know when music is good, when you feel the emotions that the artist is feeling and connect with their lyrics. I also like At The Same Time, Now A Daze, and Brother (Watching)....actually there is only one song of Shad's that i'm not to keen of (Telephone). I also recommend you listen to Praise Da Lord
@oddfuturesupporter You may have already seen it, but I just stumbled upon it in searching for Praise Da Lord, Shad's "Besides" Mixtape. It's 17 tracks of songs he's been featured on. Check it out if you haven't already.
@oddfuturesupporter Brought tears to my eyes. Shad is the only rapper and one of only a few musicians that ever has had such a strong emotional effect...and he goes from both ends of the spectrum inspiring both tears and laughter. If you don't own his albums, go buy them people. They are masterpieces.
I only had enough money to buy one CD of his and I bought TSOL. I probably should've bought this one. But hey, they're both great albums, I'll just have to save up my allowance till I can buy all the rest of his.
coincidentally I found him, and I wonder "damn that guy" but I heard and noticed that he's canadian and I wonder and realized hip hop just moved to the north becuz in the us. there a lotta rappers rappin bout money, cars and dollars, but I heard him and saw he rapped the real shit.
I agree, Shad is a fantastic artist. I am really sad that he will probably never make it to Australia, all we get are the likes of Kanye West and Beyonce, who not only charge too much to see a shitty show, but also sound so fake. Like "sing along to this song, while I go backstage and look at my reflection in the mirror."
like Coldplay it was all yellow. so clever
