@1EMPERAH Nikon D300s is far superior than D90. If you haven't bought it yet and can afford D300s, you should definitely go for that. It's a flagship DX camera from Nikon. If you can't afford that, then you should look into the brand new D7000, which is between D90 and D300s. Its feature rich and Full HD with AUTOFOCUS, unlike D90, which doesn't have autofocus option.
its possible to control the iso in movie? cuz when I film the intense of the light change automatic and happens somethings estrange when the bright change, its possible to lock the bright crontol or exposure?

I am about to purchase a DSLR, and was wondering what you think about the D90, D5000 or the Canon Rebel T1i these are in the price range that I can afford. which one will have the best video quality? Thanks and GREAT VIDEO!!!
If it records only 5 minutes max on HD wouldn't it be hard to make 10 minute videos like lets say someone is talking for 10 minutes what would you do? Just record it in scenes? cut and edit? please answer me thanks.
nobody captures more then 5min scenes even in cinematography. It`s not interesting to look at the film without montage. It`s better to change the view as often as possible for the dynamic film.
@dimalozz eh..not really, depends what kind of short film your shooting.. depends what the scene is..have you seen children of men? theres a scene that is 4 minutes long.. yes its not "5" but it was very well done..
Yes. I have used Fresnell lamps as main light, but also fluorescent lamps with no starter. For example inside elevator I have put 7 emergency fluorescent in the ceiling.
of course it doesn't look this smooth until you colour grade it correctly and edit it with either premiere or flame. Also the used like 5 softboxex, beauty dishes to get the clean lighting.
Don't be fooled . the N90is primarely a photo camera, no fliming is easy .
I don't use final cut, but in Premiere works fine, no problems, so uses too much memory and it's impossible to import for example, 95 clips (1 hour)into an 720p project(my laptop, core duo 2 Ghz, 4 GB memory iti raphic card. For this issue Vegas 9 Platinum runs faster, even in a Pentium IV PC. I guess must to work because I do reproduce better the AVI (motion JPEG) in Quick Time than in Windows media (Vista)
I had the same problem with Premeire Elements and memory leak... But I solved it. The problem was with the way that premeire handles the file format, I did a bit of googling and it appears that premiere will not address the problem. The solution is to use LEAD MCMP_MJPEG Codec, loading this codec solved the problem. The codec cost $10, but now it is a part of a package that costs $35. Still a nice quick fix.
yes I realize there is an AE lock function on the D90. From a D90 owner's perspective the discrepancy seems to be more the fact that they are consistently able to hit around 1/48th shutter speed as if it were set manually. With no manual controls over shutter this is extremely difficult to achieve for every shot even if they used the "Kohli low-noise trick". I have a hard time believing this was shot on D90, if this really was congrats on getting the most consistent results I have seen.
Thanks for all the comments. Really the only variable you can manage is the f-stop from your lens (camera always uses wider aperture), fortunatelly it haves AE-lock and works fine.
For this video I have used some fresnell lamps (from 500 to 2000 watts)
haha I like this.

I got a D90, but I still prefer my regular film camera for shooting the real stuff.

Why is that?
bluemystic7501 2 years ago
Or why don't you get a bigger SD card, like 8GB. It lets you record at least 20 minutes.

@ilovebadcomments how do i change the settings for that.. i got 8gb card .. still i can only rec 5 min

5 minutes max per clip. As in 5 minutes per start/stop recording.
darthvenom95 2 years ago
You could just record in SD, and the quality is pretty good, plus you can record for longer

Can you please explain me how did you get rid of those black waves which are persistent when shooting under the fluorescent light?

Yes. I have used Fresnell lamps as main light, but also fluorescent lamps with no starter. For example inside elevator I have put 7 emergency fluorescent in the ceiling.

does it REALLY look like that when you take videos? or did you also use some software to enhance it some?
lawndone 3 years ago
Really looks like this. Just some some contrast, bright adjustment, a small shadows highlights (10%) in some of then.

awesome! I'm sold! thanks!

I love how you managed to hide the aquous movement the d90 has when you shake it.
so the edition gives a lot of movement, even though it's allmost completly shot with tripod.
wonderful video, editing and nice camera!! :D
