I remember this exact scene from when I was about 6 years old. After watching I went outside and sped off in my green tractor. Good ol days! I was always fascinated as a kid by big machines and big toys. I am now 19 years old and own my first vehicle. A 2 1/2 Military Cargo truck with 10 tires and 12,000lbs of American steel put into it's design. For some reason I thought of this scene this evening while sitting my truck. Shoot back when I was 8 there was NO youtube!
P.S. i just seen some things notice in some outside shots of the truck the steering wheel is white but inside the truck its black and right before he crashs the last cars the fuel tank below john candys door is gone you can see it best as he makes the turn then the side shot of the truck its back! i know about the grill
I believe that gun is Ruger. I'm not really sure. You imagine shooting that thing? That bullet will probably go through an engine block! Planes Trains and Automobiles was my favorite Candy film. This film had some great moments though.
Hey dont John Candy ask him what he's hauling he looks at him and says "ROCKET FUEL!" ?

John Candy was awesome, to bad he's gone along with Chris Farley. To bad those two didn't make a movie together, it would have been hilarious.

Dooley: Whatcha hauling?
Truck Driver: Rocket fuel
Dooley: This'll be interesting!
You know what other role the truck driver played? He was Charlie Manson in Helter Skelter.
