  • caning is much needed in the philippines so that our people will learn how to behave!

  • Caning and paddling children is an archaic practice from times gone by. Violence begets violence no matter what form it wraps itself in. I can only imagine the type of people who want to embrace this ugly custom once more.

  • If they were still doing this today, I'll bet:

    1) The UK wouldn't have a chav problem

    2) The riots wouldn't have happened

  • @ProfessorxVile and i bet these days the kids would just refuse.

  • he's hotter with his english accent.. :D love him <3

  • hmmm..back then it was serious. now a days its like 200 dollar fine and 1 night in jail.

  • Caning ended in the UK in 1986 (the year I left school) and yes, I have noticed that behaviour among the young has worsened.

  • videos for you. The thought of it makes you shiver. You WANKER

  • BOOOOOOOOOOOOring Stephen Fry. Crap.

  • harder harder lol

  • you keep that up honey, my name's whatever you want it to be.

  • Hm with stuff like that I'd be urged to defense myself. Push him off, kick him in the balls after the 3rd lash, whatever needed.

  • @GossamerFawn more like take the cane and ram it through his eyeball till he looks like a English shishkabob!

  • I haven't watched the video yet. But on beatings, of course it *works*. What's your point? Same way being blackmailed or threatened works. Does that mean you're not an arse for doing it? Nope. I could make people do whatever I want by beating them if I have that chance. Idk the intensity beingdebated her, but it's wrong to support beating anyone including children IMO. quit. Beating. People. Kids are human being too.

  • @GossamerFawn Kids will get around you by their deviousness and twist you. It is in their make up. We, however are silly enough to take away any way of punishing them, and so they fuck us up the arse. When they pop out of the womb they make a noise to make us cater toi their every need, When they learn to walk they make noise to make us cater to their every need.

  • Spare the strap, spoil the brat. Damned kids are running the assylum now thanks to the child psychologists that say a good ass whipping is child abuse.

  • my mom did this to me even when i was 15 and Im a girl, but i can run thou

  • Alex Pettyfer is soooooooooo cute <3 Who cares if he's a bad boy?

  • I dont like the idear or capital punishment in schools very much, kinda arkward that it still hapnes in a country like USA

  • @happygamestvfun1 There would be no kids left if they allowed capital punishments in school. I think you meant corporal punishment.

  • oh Alex... <3

omg how could that evil man do that to him!

  • Alex.... <3

  • Comment removed

  • ouch

  • Hey picassoui Spare the rod and spoil the child YOU ASS-HOLE !! It's no wonder kids of today are in gangs , on drugs, ect !!!

  • how come stephen fry never does that to Alan on QI?

  • didn't let me post the website..don't know why, but if you go on "The Perfect Interview" on blogspot it's all there.

  • it's not like this anymore (thank god) but in some ways this can create a really good personality. I was doing some research for an interview and apparently it's this kind of upbringing, with the whole private school agenda that makes public school boys perfect candidates for jobs. I came across this blog which was cool though the guy argues it strangely.

I wouldn't have liked boarding though. Mummy's boy. But it makes men out of boys,

  • @anchorman000 I disagree with you . hitting a child with a stick does nothing except punish and some cases demean the child .. I am not against corporal punishment in the home provided that it is reasonable ,,

  • We got sent for 'cracks' for the slightest of misdemeanors at my school.

All it taught us was "don't get caught next time"!

  • Sound institutional whipping. Whatever happened to the golden age of entertainment? I spent my school life in fear of the cane and just when I turned old enough to whack ass, they banned it. Justice?

  • @sxmadrid Actually Justice would be YOU caning the man who caned you. But think of it this way too, if you did not like that at all, would you do it to other children when you are old enough? That's just me asking though. I have kindness and empathy towards children. They do not deserve to be whipped or hurt by a cane. For any reason. If they need punishing. By hand is how it should be done.

  • @PearlNautica It's a complex subject. My post was humour without clear point. I don't support hitting kids despite the urge to do so on a couple of occasions. I have spanked one child on account of his determination to be spanked (that's how his mother did it) and he repsonded to the lightest touch. I wasn't caned, though I was punched in the head a couple of times, and I do look forward to reading a couple of obituaries in the local press.

  • @sxmadrid Haha! I've came across a few kids that do need a spanking but I can't touch them because they're not related to me...which sucks. Haha. That's awful that you were punched in the head. Sheesh. I'm sorry if I seemed off in any way. I was just saying what I think would be good justice. Like in Nicholas Nickleby! Ever seen that? Another great british movie.

  • Wow. Stephan Fry does a serious role... I thought he could only do comedy. I've gained some respect for him as an actor.

  • good grief. This is a dramatisation of a novel written in the 1860s about events set in the 1830s and some of you act like it was happening for real yesterday. . By the standards of the time 6 of the best was moderate. Outside of school they were transporting kids for less. Most Headmasters who caned were not evil and indeed, Dr Arnold the headmaster in this was one of the most visionary and enlightened of his time. In a sense that is what the book was about.. Climb down off those high horses.

  • american debt collectors would like to have this done to me

  • Comment removed

  • @rich0319726 Pity. All though that would be more entertaining now, when his ass is actually cute. :p

  • he is so cool!!

  • @TheToooom Stephen Fry giving Alex Pettyfer a sore arse. Then Stephen wakes up with a bonner. lol.

  • man hes so hot

  • Alex Pettyfer is beautiful, but the caning is simply brutal. It should be a rule that if

a British boys school movie has an actual caning on screen, it must be as sexy as it is brutal.

  • No doubt it was well deserved!

  • Its not something anyone would enjoy, but it DOES work. I was spanked as a kid and I think that if they still used corporal punishment in schools, the world WOULD be a better place.

  • I´d say good togh boyspanking is cool. Boys like beeing spanked if they know that the girls are watching their spanking.

  • At my old school we could chose the cane or detention .. 20 canes on your butt or 1 hour detention on friday night where you stand on a stool in a empty class room.

i used to live in burma .. now i live in the uk. my friends didnt believe me. i chose the cane the pain would be gone in a few days... we just padded our undiewear.!!

  • I'd have smacked that fat bastard.

  • Someone should Cane The Teacher

  • Comment removed

  • alex pettyfer is so cute!!!

  • aww poor boy, he looks so scared.

  • poor boy. once I got whipped like that, but only twice. it hurt!!!

  • What were you whipped for?

  • ouch my teacher beat me once and i was soo upset that i acctually glued his chair (i am a boy)

  • @irule31795 once a teacher hit me with a set of keys and i thumb tacked his chair lmfao! same with u!

  • @irule31795 - where are you from? I take it from your user name you were born in 1995, in which case they don't still use corporal punishment like this. If you're from another country I apologise as i know some do still have corporal punishment.

  • tom brown's schooldays

  • can u tell me the name of the movie?

  • thank goodness this type of habbit never existed in schools in my country...Well, they only hitted with rulers, but then they abolished it. Today, teachers go to jail for doing that (in my country).

  • Um ... you missed a spot, try that again, but this time a little bit lower, ahhh perfect, thanks!

  • what was he doing to him!!!???

  • didn't know stephen fry could be so evil

  • @viikidaviking you should see him as the duke of wellington in blackadder the third.

  • surprised that homo Fry didn't try to cane the kid's ass with his manrod :/

  • I'm just interested that Stephen Fry is playing a bad guy....that doesn't happen enough and he's pretty scary

  • he actually played quite a positive character in the film. it was just a stupid way of punishing students back then

  • Thank god that this type of abuse is outlawed in Canada!

  • There is caning in every Singapore school but it is on the palm unless you do something very wrong.

  • stephen fry!!

  • Why did the headmaster have to send the boy all the way to some dark & dank tower for his punishment? Seems like it would have been much easier to cane him there in his office. Heavens to murgatroid, that cane has to smart! Ouch to the max, daddy-o!

  • It's like grandmother telling you to go and get a switch. Part of the punishment is psychological. It also allows for a certain amount of privacy. As humiliating as it is to get caned it's much more humiliating to be heard or seen while getting caned.

  • We should bring back caning/paddling in US schools. It would solve a lot of the behavioral problems. It's hard to gain cred with your peeps when everybody knows you got your butt smacked.

  • what bout the uk

  • It would probably work in the UK too. They had caning for hundreds of years. I don't think it's a coincidence that the juvenile crime rate increased after corporal punishment was banned in schools.

  • @IronBrig4

why don't you stop talking with your asshole and thinking with your buttocks and show us all proof that the reason for the increase of crime is the banning of corporal punishment instead of other factors such economic, recession, technology, lack of parenting skills, etc?

  • @IronBrig4

Could you be more naive? If you think the only change that has occurred during the last half century that could have made the juvenile crime rate rise is corporal punishment then you must be living in a cave. I am sure that things like a 50% divorce rate, changing societal values and a myriad of other huge factor have nothing at all to do with it. Really?

  • @rezlenski There are many other societal factors, to be sure. But the prospect of caning would still make kids think "oh crap" before they engaged in any sort of delinquency.

  • @IronBrig4 One could argue that people know that murderers are caught and sentenced to prison time or the death penalty- and yet murders still happen every day.

Sure, the majority, if not all, criminals think they will get away with it, but a juvenile would think the same way. They may be apt to do it all the same thinking they won't get caught.

    -Alika613

  • @IronBrig4

Yeah, sure it works. Like capital punishment in the US I guess.

  • @IronBrig4 Yeah, sure it works. Like capital punishment in the US. Now, remind, me, what is the crime rate in the US exactly?

  • @philip1503 US violent crime rates are a bit higher than in most of the industrialized world, while property crime rates are a bit lower. The rates also vary widely by region. Why?

  • @IronBrig4 WOW how great that someone has realised that if you are not allowed to punish someone they will take the piss.

  • Damn right.....

  • What if the person getting paddled/caned resists?

  • Then smack them more until they realize that there's a direct relationship between the amount of caning and the degree of resistance. They gotta know who's boss.

  • I don't know. Some kids around high school age are old enough and strong enough to physically challenge being spanked/paddled with a good chance of suceeding

  • Then, he takes the cane and takes it and beats the person who canes him and shouts expletives at him while he's writhing in pain and shouts "HOW DO YOU LIKE IT!" lol.

  • @IronBrig4 The top performing US schools don't use corporal punishment (whereas the worst do). It's also worth mentioning that in in the days when British schools were allowed to use the tawse (leather strap used in Scottish schools) or caning, gaining "cred with your peeps" involved taking your punishment without crying. If anything it actually toughened "hard" types and as the author Roald Dahl said in the first part of his autobiography, it was actually harmful to weaker children.

  • What movie is this? I have never heard of this book.

  • Tom Brown schooldays .. write it in Youtube and you can watch Part 1 etc... x :)

  • holy crap, schoolmasters did not make much money in those days, but they sure had ways of having fun. Cute dude, too.

  • "Cute dude"? I suppose so, if you're into little boys.

  • wow that is so fake though...

  • no duh stupid!

  • i would never have liked to be caned even the thought of it makes me shiver

  • id take it over expulsion or even suspension

  • @videos4u100 I kind of like it

  • I hate seeing him hurting, though I know it's just a film, and, in fact, he's just fine-.-

alex pettyfer is the best actor ever, and no, I don't mean he is hot and gorgeous (which he is), I mean he has a really really REALLY big talent!!!!!

  • You really think so? He wasn't all that great in this movie; probably because he's quite young -- what, isn't he like, eleven?

  • I really do believe he's an awesome actor!! I haven't seen the whole movie, but I have seen sooo many videos of it, it's almost like I watched it. And I think he was great!!!!

I think he's 14 or 15 there..... though I'm not sure about it.

  • LOL!! I'd LOVE to be caned by Stephen Fry!

  • Some films are in the punishment of children beaten on the soles of their feet. Did any one see any of these films and what is the name of the film ?

  • :(

    leave my alex alone!

    lol, he lies so cutely:P

    'it's a prank sir'

    alex pettyfer<33

  • ppobre niño.

  • is that the guy from, V for Vendetta?

  • Amongst other things.

You will want to check him out, Stephen Fry.

  • that the boy from stormbreaker? alex pettifer or something?

  • ohhh he's so cute <3

  • can you upload the whole movie ?

i cant find it in my country .

  • They need to use this method on all students that don't behave in school. I'm tired of seeing those little punks walk around like they just walked out of BET channel from TV. children need this type of punishment because they have gotten to lax. That goes for US, UK, and every other country in the world. (NO EXCEPTIONS) Lets start raising MEN from boys, not faggedy little whiney emotional pussies!

  • i agree

  • Ty Taylor.

  • I be a walking pig if I was punished like this, I'd imagine some kids would. I'd beat up yell at talk smack to any teacher who dared to suggest this punishment. teachers don't care now adays thats all.

  • it's not that teachers dont care nowadays; caning was banned because it was believed to be barbaric. Alas, if caning was brought back now, all of the chavs that would be caned and all of their chavvy parents would raise hell.

I think it would be funny as hell though. It would definately put kids back in their place at school.

  • I agree it would be extremely funny. I can't see it working if corporal punishment was just suddenly legal again. Most teachers now a days wouldnt be used to that sort of thing and i can say it would be hilarious to see how some of mine would react.

  • Bring back the cane and discipline no thanks to MTV and Hollywood. Take a bow Mr. Alistair Crowley and Mr. matt Groening at what you have achieved with todays youths and citizens. You have achieved your goals. Not to mansion that all TV and media are owned by Jews that have destroyed and brain washed our youth and adults.

  • wow deep thinking...

  • This has absolutely NOTHING to do with the US being better thank the UK and anyone who says it judging by this video is a little daft. This happened plenty of times in America a couple of centuries ago as well, so no one has the right to say that.

I am an American. . .but never would I bash the UK for something that happened years ago.

  • iii luvv alleexx

  • who the hell is alex?

  • its the boy who playz tom =)

  • oh...

  • he is sooooooooooooo fit!!! woop woop

dose anyone no him :) lol

  • if your talking about Tom Brown then he is played by Alex Pettyfir he's also in the movie Alex Rider Operation Stormbreaker. He's really good looking. HOpe I helped

  • ok yourfaceandmum, thanks for explaining! maybe i got the wrong impression about the teacher because of this scene - who wouldn´t, in fact? it´s a very sad situation and the ambient really turns anyone down.

  • in a couple of shots when he first comes in to the caning room, i swear his face looks about two!

  • It is always great to think of Tommy Brown getting a good dose of the cane. In the book he was always the hero. Well here he is the hero bent over the canning block.

  • Actually in the film/books that guy was a really good teacher and saves Tom Brown. But in this scene obviously he's mean.

  • anyone got the full vid uploaded

  • oh, and before the useless discussion starts again: i´m not judging anyone or anything, i´m just making a comment about the situation of the movie.

i know nobody has asked my opinion but guys, come on, there´s no reason to discuss about USA x UK! each place has got pleasant things and disgusting things, each one is happy somehow, so let´s stop with all this intolerance. when we compete like this we´re not being better than any other person in the world... right? greetings!

  • poor boy! what a melancholic ambient, terrible wheater, terrible teacher... i just wonder how these kids survived to that time.

  • mmm is this a video ?

  • its called

    tom browns schooldays

im not sure if it is a film or a tv seires but there have been several differwnt ones there was a seiries in the 70s and 90s i think.

  • It's a made for TV movie. This was released in the UK in 2005 (according to IMDb)

  • it's from the film "tom Brown's schoolday"

  • but rarelt enforced. kids arent as docile and blind as they use to be. they know their rights partially

  • What film is this from?

  • where is it permitted?

  • heyy im from england we dont get caned anymore only stopped about 20 years ago though but we have a teacher who hits the kids but if the teachers dont scer us we run roit lol

  • is this ok in england?

  • i'm so glad i live in america

  • based on a film set over 150 years ago?

  • yeah. so what?

  • well, why say that here?

OK then I am so glad I live in Britain, the finest nation on earth

  • what makes it the finest?

  • what makes yours the finest?

ok we are the most democratic - lets start there

  • ok, so you guys are the most democratic

so? i never really wanted to know.

as to what makes america the finest. hm, let's see.

    a lot!

    that about covers it

  • Ok then what makes us better - multiculturalism, Cricket, proper english, real food, nice people, a government not bankrolled by israel...the list is endless

  • who says we're bankrolled by Israiel. and there is multiculturalism here, cricket, wtf? we have proper english and real food. give me a break. i'd pick some greens, fried chicken, cornbread, gravy, etc. over bread and jam anyday.

honey, you ain't eaten real food until you've had some real southern food cooked by Big Mamma.

  • Gravy? English! Multiculturalism - yours society hates Muslims! Cricket - best game in the world with more following than most US sports. Real food? You ever been to a pub?

  • actually, i have, and i didn't like it. and who says we hate muslims. we let them into the damn country!

cricket is just baseball that has been twisted.

don't get me to click on you because when i do, i'ma go off. it's gonna be a wrap!

  • 1. your country in UN surverys is the most islamophobic. Correction, Cricket is much older than basball...so it has not been twisted, baseball has...and that is based on ROUNDERS - a GIRLS game. Well I went to America and your food was shit.

  • well excuse me miss-i-think-the-worl-sucks,

just because our food takes like shit doesn't make your food any better. betcha ya'll got some McDonalds over there. and were did that come from i wonder? oh, let me guess, the good ol' US fo A. now, does that taste like shit? betcha you wouldn't say that if you was eatin on a Micky-D now would ya? and ya'll theme parks suck. ever been to Disney World in Orlando, Flordia?

  • 1. All theme parks suck.

    2. I would never deign to eat the shit in Mcdonalds, not when I can eat smoked salmon at Lord's.

  • hell no not all theme parks suck. Magic Springs, Silver Dollar City, Six Flags, Wild River Country, Disney World, Disney Land, the list goes on. just because you so dirt poor to not go anywere doesn't mean any theme parks suck. oh wait, you've never been to America.

    smoked salmon taste like shit

  • Espousing the virtues of theme parks in this 'argument' is like trying to get into the Ritz wearing a Ronald McDonald outfit. But wait!

Here's how you see the world:I bet they all wish they lived here, we're swell.

Here's how the rest of the world sees you:

I'm so fucking glad I'm not a yank, what an arrogant, irresposible, loud, horrible society.

The good bit for you is that you are blissfully ignorant of the state you're in.

    If only you knew

  • a) you're generalizing Golfermillion. thats arrogant, irresponsible, and horrible

    b) as for our food being bad etc. you probably only went to typical tourist places and yeah those places suck. Every country has thier faults and its hardly fair to judge a country on perhaps one visit and sterotypes....

  • mos tof my family is American...I steer clear of tourist places...i can judge things myself

  • i'm Southern American to the core. and yes, i got that SOUTHER DRAWL.

  • is this to me, or azarimanka?

  • The only thing you are the finest at is being twats and at dying.

  • who asked your opinion

  • why the hell did you start this. i think you dont got a life

  • well i guess i have more of a life than you...

  • what do you do that makes your life better than mine?

  • well, lets see...I have one of the best jobs ever - and get paid well! I have a beatiful GF and get to go to amazing places like Lord's on a whim...

  • so. money isn't everything. it never makes anyone truly happy. id rather be poor and happy/content than be rich and miserable

  • u forgot this outlawed in all of UK but in sum states of the USA its stil perfectly legal

  • well, duh i know that! i'm still glad i live in america and not in some cess pool were i dont' chose who i marry, i'm sold to the guy!

  • i know. so what?

  • at my school, they just use a fiberglass paddle and you get three licks, maybe four.

    never got one before.

    skipped lots though
