I'm glad this is happening. In the past, I have had insurance and looked down on those who didn't have any. I thought they were just lazy. Until it happened to me. I lost my job and my health insurance and it's been hell finding another one, despite my education.

Well what about the other 200 million people in this country. There are currently 300 million people living here and only 31 out of 300 million are going to get benifits while the other 200+ (Middle class) pay for these people with HIgher Taxes

I've visited Canada many times (love the country) and have friends who live there. I hear from them about how long it takes to get a basic test, not to mention CAT scans and MRI's. These systems do not save $. The U.K. is experiencing the same thing. It costs more and the system is unsubstainable.

My dog sleeps about 20 hours a day. He has his food prepared for him. He can eat whenever he wants, 24/7/365. His meals are provided at no cost to him. He visits the Dr. if any medical needs arise. For this he pays nothing He lives in a house He receives these accommodations absolutely free. He has absolutely no expenses whatsoever. His costs are picked up by others who work to pay their bills and his It hit me like a brick in the head, Holy crap, my dog is a democrat!
Taiwan and Singapore has best medical care system in the world, 99% coverage, high quality, and they are government run with less than 5% GDP budget. Do some research other than Canada and Brits. Come on my fellow American, let us fix the healthcare for our children sakes!!

I feel like President Obama's want for a healthcare reform is a need in our country. However, promising the country a healthcare reform in under a year is an overly ambitious promise. Our country needs a president who is willing to take the time to get this reform right not simply throwing something together for the sake of meeting some deadline.
Parallel public and private health system are the best for the consumer, the industry, and the country's economy at this point. They'll minimize biases and diversify resources to help technology, competitions, and improve options for budgets. Don't slow down, stay active and be innovative. Obama, keep going, push it through, make public option our reality. Those who ignore this job don't worth our efforts. We'll just pad those kids like group a little bit when we finish the job, you know.

I don't disagree about the need reform. However, I don't think it was necessary to socialize 17 percent of the free market to help an additional 12 to 30 million (depending on what source you look at) Americans to receive insurance.
Tort reform, HSA, allowing ins. companies to compete beyond state lines would have cost almost nothing to implement and saved BILLIONS.

I'm glad this is happening. In the past, I have had insurance and looked down on those who didn't have any. I thought they were just lazy. Until it happened to me. I lost my job and my health insurance and it's been hell finding another one, despite my education.

Well what about the other 200 million people in this country. There are currently 300 million people living here and only 31 out of 300 million are going to get benifits while the other 200+ (Middle class) pay for these people with HIgher Taxes

I've visited Canada many times (love the country) and have friends who live there. I hear from them about how long it takes to get a basic test, not to mention CAT scans and MRI's. These systems do not save $. The U.K. is experiencing the same thing. It costs more and the system is unsubstainable.

I believe this is why congress is so desperate to pass health care: The economy is going to totally collapse and there needs to be means to legally genocide the extra people so that they do not revolt. They will probably mandate that everyone is vaccinated and then taint some or all of the vaccines. Their goal is for a world population of 500,000,000. What he isn't saying is under this new Health Care Plan the parents or parent with children has to keep there child on there health care plan until they reach the age 26! I've always been a Democrat and even voted for Obama, but I must agree with the rep on this one there is parts of this bill that really "stinks", and the public is in for a very rude awaking should this pass.

A part of me hopes that Obama or any president, has a policy to reform healthcare even though it may cause them to be damaged politically. Obama is damned if the health care bill is passed and his damned if it doesn't. I would like for the naysayers to be proven wrong, but I wonder if it is worth it. Personally, if I were Obama, I would have fought hard to try get the unemployment down and financial reform so I could get a second term, then get healthcare reform in the 2nd term.

I agree with you. I don't like the healthcare bill, but something has to be done. Why should they start over when so much effort has been put into it? It is not in the platform of the GOP to have healthcare reform or universal coverage. Obama knows that the Dems will lose a lot of seats and this is why he pushed hard to get reform done. Even if they split up the bill and vote on items people like, the GOP wouldn't support it in huge numbers, better yet none of it.

THey don't believe that much in healthcare reform. Buying insurance across statelines and malpractice reform isn't going help a family of 4 who has on parent who lost their job. I feel like President Obama's want for a healthcare reform is a need in our country. However, promising the country a healthcare reform in under a year is an overly ambitious promise. Our country needs a president who is willing to take the time to get this reform right not simply throwing something together for the sake of meeting some deadline.

They'll minimize biases and diversify resources to help technology, competitions, and improve options for budgets. Don't slow down, stay active and be innovative.
