his smashes are outstanding if you can sword tip(hit enemy with very end of sword) someone. does same amount of damage, but sends them flying like twice as far. the meteor smash is possible, but only if you sword tip the opponent. sword tip works for all A attacks. tilted, smashed, any.running A does NOT lag. i've used it successfully many times against hard enemies.

What's a tilt attack? Is it where you press a button simultaneously with the direction button? Like > and B at the same time?

@Yoshikkko A tilt attack is when a direction is held on the control stick and the normal attack button is pressed.

Anyway, nice tutorial. It should probably be noted that Marth's bair turns him around in the air. He's the only character that does that.

its cuz u can use the c-stick/cheep-stick so after finshing the side air combo and landing, you can use side/down smash

u can side b cansel and down/side smash eazyer

Oh, many thanks! I've been looking for some help to improve my Marth skills. This helped a lot.

Also, a random tip for any other Marth user, I found that, while fighting a computer Ike, he used his Down-B while jumping towards me in the air, and he caught me with the counter. I tried it on him with Marth, and it worked almost every time. Try it sometime; maybe it'll work for you.

Marth is so the best character in brawl, some say its ike but what the point of huge strength if you can't even hit your opponent.... The only super cool thing that marth doesn't have is an english voice XD

not bad for an intro to marth most of the early combos u showed with -> B were easily avoidable with some reverse di and sheilding though. i find it more effective to do -> B with a down b finish at low percentages and -> b with and up finish at high percentages to get them in the air where marth really goes to work. Another more advanced technique is footstool spiking. Also marths -> b helps for recovery im sure u knew that but others watching might not. Nice vid message me if u wanna brawl

Actually, it does... When at the top of his jump, if Marth does his -> once, he will go a little higher. Maybe you should talk less and play more :)

The height difference is very minimal and of no absolute use as far as I've seen it, which is why I don't do it anymore.

Well indeed it's not THAT useful, but it can be used when you're juste beneath the edge and don't wanna risk going too high with his upB.

I have another tip on using Marth. If you happen so to get knocked into the air and are away from the stage. Hold b and release when fully charged up, and you will get a bit closer to the stage.

lol I remember playing with some friends, and I was new to the game and using Marth, they told me "Never use Marth's final smash in midair or you'll fall." Well I decided to ignore they're advise and when I did, I knocked out two of the bastards xD From then on I only use Marth, which is perfect because my best friend uses Ike. Hopefully with this video I can learn how to be even more deadly with Marth!

in Melee you can use the dancing blade to recover, and Marth's sword is longer with an easier spike. You lose those in Brawl, but Marth's power is augmented. So, it's essentially a trade, one that varies upon the player's perspective.

traditionally it's either a up throw> fair > fair > (more if possible)> spike. It doesn't NEED an up throw to start, but it is a Melee combo...it doesn't technically exist in Brawl as a consecutive hits combo, except for on DK at a certain percent...

Ken combo is where you keep on short hopping to the opponent and while holding the stick towards them keep on tapping the A button so when they get hit off the edge they have enough damage that when you hit them they go for so you can spike them (Hope that helps)

yeah ur gonna have to jump right before the spike in order to deal with the stall... marth isnt the type to go tooo far down off of the board its better to jump while ur on the board and spike near the ledge than to use another jump and go down or out too far..... thats only if ur not gonna use the spike

Practice it.

DON'T use up to jump. Release the jump button asap. The quicker you release the jump button the lower the jump. Minimum height is what the short hop is.

ok either ur just that good with marth or u learned those from other videos. that ken combo u showed... beatable. really the combo only works if u stay on the offense which means if the other person does to... ur done cause u will start to get pissed and then it will mess with ur fighting and it just doesnt really help. and on a second note: if u really spent all that time training with only him then thats kinda fail. getting to use all characters is being a champion. though i havent XD
