hahaha i love how bak then mcdonalds was aimed at mostly kids and now it mostly, not middle aged people, but slightly older than school kids. they couldn't use this advert now because no one actually does their hw anymore, and if kids saw this they would think mcdonalds was a place that liked school, a few of my friends would probably go and burn it down!

Well, I had to memorize the Preamble to the Constitution, too and I think most students do. As for writing a 500 word report on Moby Dick, that seems fair, it's basically just writing a book report, it's not as hard as it sounds.

But the teacher asking them to collect 20 different insects, I hate. Even though, I'm not in school anymore, I'd still like to strangle that teacher to death because he's DEFINITELY working those kids too hard! Where are they going to get 20 insects, the Amazon?

Interesting. Speaking as someone who had to do that, and eventually did it as a project for high school, all you had to do was go to a parking lot at night with the lights on, and there were 500-1000 different types of insects there.

The final project we did had 20k insects in it just from my home town.

500-1000 different species. Same for the final project. 20 different insects probably would have taken all of about 30 minutes to get.

Memorizing the preamble to the constitution and writing a 500 word report on Moby Dick seems manageable to me. But collecting 20 different species of insects?! I'd like to walk into that classroom and strangle that teacher to death! There is NO way they can collect 20 different insects each. Makes me glad I'm not in school anymore.
