  • This is truly adorable and creative and I love it....You have to have a big open brain to appreciate the artist before us here , and some people just don't get it. I do....and I love the fact that you celebrate his talent! Good for you!!!

  • really the cat is fantastic!

  • Henry knows precisely where to out his paws smart kitty 8-)

  • This is magnificent! Thank you!

  • This is a great video Anita! I will certainly post it to the I HAVE CAT fan page! He is a lucky kitty-cat! Not everyone would have recognized his innate skills!

And now i want to check out the Museum of Non-Primates too!

  • What kind of carpet pieces are used? It would have to be different from the junk normally sold ... those long strands are not what I see the stuff I have made of!

Anyway, Henry is very talented. I have six cats and am now thinking of creating an "artists' collective"!!

  • Very cute kitty and I have 2 cats myself but art? I think not. A bit of shredded carpet is just a ruined bit of carpet. If he is a fibre artist then I must be a f master of fibre design! It really puts down all people who do fibre work to call this kitty a fibre artist. Sorry but this is not art in any way, shape or form.

  • Actually, I am a fiber artist, and my display at the Bangor Public Library helped to open the door to Henry's work being displayed there as well. If you could see how he looked at the piece of carpet from all angles and considered what he was going to do before he began to scratch, you might have a different viewpoint about Henry and his work. In fact, I have had people tell me that they had a difficult time believing that a cat had created such an in-depth fiber art wall hanging.

  • Lighten up!

  • Well if the cat actually made the item rather than destroying something that was already created then you might say it is art. My cats vomit must be considered art then!

  • Uhhh, yeah. I repeat lighten up. Nobody's asking to put it in The Smithsonian. The cat had fun, people enjoyed the exhibit and people enjoy this video. LIGHTEN UP!

  • @ahhigiveup Sorry, last time I checked you weren't the person who gets to decide what is art and what is not. Art can be found anywhere.

  • @girlsknow - everyone is entitled to their opinion so if I say its not art to me then its not art to me. So what.

  • @ahhigiveup ,,,,,,,,,,you are rude and jealous..........and not a professional artist...you put down others art who are you to say what is art..............quiet yourself!

    BRAVO kitty ARTIST! BRAVO HENRY!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @MeowCatseye as someone else said LIGHTEN UP! Sheesh - everyone is entitled to an opinion and by the way I am a fibre artist, bear maker and craft person who sells my works in a number of places so that makes me a professional artist! My opinion is just as valid as anyone elses. I still stand by my OPINION that this is not art but just a cat having a play and sharpening his claws. I love cats but would not consider anything my kitties did as art.

  • I'm a sucker for a tuxedo kitty, and have 4 in my clutter of 9 catZ, so of course Henry steals my heart right away. Ah, but to have an artist . . . What a lucky girl you are Anita, to have such a handsome and talented man in your life! ((♥)) PurrZ!

  • Henry is ADORABLE and (it goes without saying, but I'll say it anyway) very talented. btw, my Rani (tuxedo Persian and ???) does PURRformance installations with, ahem! Bath Tissue. She is truly inspired.

  • Aww! This is so cute and amazing! He can be the next Togus!!

  • p.s. I have no doubt that there are genuine "cat artists". Unfortunately, it's quite hard to find relevant YouTubes (there aren't many) or updated info on the internet, because "feline artist" 99.99% turns up information about human artists who paint cats, draw cats, etc. So, it's a challenging search term.

  • Hi Anita- I hope you saw this comment from one of my readers- cat owner and savvy cat observer, and this was I'm sure meant in all seriousness- "As God is my witness, I've seen things hanging in museums that didn't have the depth and reach that Henry exhibits!"

I've looked closely at the pix you sent, and these are NOT random creations, as I'm sure you realize.

I had a lot of fun checking out the cat pages at the site Museum of Non Primate art, but irrc none featured a fiber artist.

  • anita- thanks for the extra info and pix of Henry's work, which I've put up! wonderful.

  • Thanks! I love the pages you created to honor the artwork of cats!

  • How much will Henry's next piece cost? Will he be at any fairs or festivals next summer? :)

  • Too cute! I love it. He just needs a grant now.
