i love this camera and my 500gb external harddrive is full with HD footage, now im thinking ill just record the raw footage onto a disc and erase it from the hdd and that way have a lot of space as well store the footage safely.

if you cant make a video then could you please at give me exact details of doing it.

just to let you know i have the IDVD on my mac to burn , if thats needed of course.

what about video file size? is it a problem since the videos r in hd and should have large size?...one more thing i need a waterproof cam so i was thinking about the sanyo vpc-wh1..should i buy the wh1 or i go with this sony and buy a waterproof housing for this sony?

It does have a light. it is next to the lense. It is turned on manualy on the option menu... >_> oh well. The light accesory also helps =).

@BlueSmurf73 Night vision went out a long time ago because of the implications you could do with it and peoples light clothing. You can still get them, but the majority of cameras do not come equiped with them.

if you want one with a big zoom go for a Canon FS100. That has a huuge optical zoom.

2000x digital and 45x advanced.

CAUTION: Zoom will massivley effect the picture quality on any caamera. If you have a tripod, great, but you will find it hard to manouver.

Nice review, I really liked to see the size wenn someone was holding it, I was affraid it would be bigger but it´s really smal too. I have seen a lot of video´s in HD filmed with this camera and they where all great... WOW what a quality!!! Especially in the evening... WOW, GREAT!!!

im actually not sure if there is any other versions coming out. i love this camcorder. everything is perfect, the quality and how easy it is to use. the only thing that i dont like about it is that there is no 720/30p or 1080/24p just only 1080/60i and SD format but other than that it is awesome. just 1 thing.. if u are going to film at night be sure to buy a active shoe light because the camcorder doesnt have 1.
