Thats funny. If we are talking about the Habs as a franchise, well than yes they are the most storied franchise in the history of the NHL. I don't think that is the case anymore. Thew forum is gone, currently owned by an American, they just do not compare to "les glorieux" of years past, and anyone who says they do are either ignorant or completely biased.

I am not debating the greatness of the Canadians as a franchise. All I am saying is that history is exactly that, in the past. I just don't see how their history has any relevance as to how good the habs are today. It seems like a crutch that fans of teams with great histories use when their teams are not at their best.
I never rely on their past greatness. the past is the past for sure. but im sure you'll admit that in fact we are dealing with the present, than the habs are once again a good team. obviously not the 50's or 70's canadiens, that will never happen again for anyone, but they are in the top 6 or 7 teams. so if its the present you wanna focus on, i like where they are at. they are easily the best canadian team right now.
Ottawa isn't really ahead of Montreal. It's actually tied but since the Sens just won a game they boost em up to 1st in the Northeast division and 2nd in the East. Won't last long trust me. Habs will go back to their rightful spot atop their Division.
Ok. Don't come crying to me when Ottawa gets knocked out and Montreal moves on. As for Biggcore...Ahead of Ottawa by what? 3-4 points? Soon to be 6. They will win the Confrence title and the division title. Then..the cup.
