  • name of song used in the beginning and end of video please?

  • i used a saws all to get mine out ..

  • wheres part 2? great vdo and it was funny too.. iam currently bobbing my 1983 yamaha midnight maxim 750.. your vdo was helping..

  • Do you have part two for this project? I am gonna start a similar project on a Virago 750 and this is the first video that actually gave an explanation what 'bobbing' is... Would be much appreciated..

  • Portal music at the end of the video :D

  • take the seat, back fender, and inner fender off. unhook airbox from carbs. grab both sides of airbox in the filter door on top and give it a jerk, and it will split right in two and u can pull it right out of the back where the fender goes. the seam that hold both sides of the box together is just glued. takes about 30 min for an average person to get it completely out.

  • awesome video...post a second video please

  • michigan hell ya

  • Get that bobber done man, then give that t-max thing to ur wife...

  • part 2 please

  • i got my air box out that was really hard. dose anyone know where i can get another one of those rubber things the coneced the carb to the engin?

  • i got my air box out =)).

  • really good video man

  • do you have a part two or three yet. I am in the middle of doing this same thing and am basicly learning how to do so baised off of you tube clips of rat bobbers.... not working out so well at this point. ..... your was a big help though.

  • It's the same bike as mine... almost. Mine is a 1980 model. Good luck with this project. Check out my 450. I'm gonna do some mods on it too :)

  • "What are we? A sissy? Let's get run over!" Hillarious!! Great vid dude!

  • Getting that air box out sux... I just took apart a GS450 and had to go as far as taking the engin off before I could get the box out... LOL. I wish I had taken video of my progress. Thanks for sharing.

  • @mamagallon2000 No kidding!! I need my friend Jay to read this, he was convinced it would come out with the rear tyre off... he was wrong.

  • Where's the "after " video?

  • @HelmetBlissta Kinda not finished yet, still tinkering with other projects!

  • @LARC0 is it another project to be continued?

  • Thanks man. :D I sure will, just need the temp to warm a little, it is bloody cold in the garage!

  • I believe the quick to removing the air box is to drop the shocks and raise the frame. But that might only take the fun out of it. Great vid.

    Good riding

  • LOL, we like to do it the hard way!!! LOL Thanks man!

  • 'take a ball pin hammer, bang it around abit' haha, fuck yea, now THATS ratting!!

  • Thanks! sorry for late reply, the commenting system is crap here. :(

  • What song did you use at the end?

  • the band is called: Latex Distortion and the song is named : Ijjoojji

archive[dot]org/details/1bit_018 play isotope for the similar song, it is far out!

  • thanks and great vid.

  • I had the exact same bike in mint condition. Sold it to a friend and he turned it into a rat bobber. It looked FANTASTIC. Swapped the shocks for hard tail struts, bobbed the stock rear fender, switched to side mounted plate holder/ tail light, springer solo seat and pod filters. Also, ditched the chain gaurd, turn signals and mirrors. After swapping the handle bars for clip ons he painted the headlight yellow, stripped the paint and decals of the stock tank and let it rust. Looked very hardcore.

  • Awesome man! That is just about exactly what I want to do with her, like to the T. I might do something else with the tank though, we'll see!!!

  • Didn't have to take the rear wheel off

    Classic!

  • LOL I showed him!!! LOL

  • what teh h e double hocky sticks y do you coment on you own vid so much

    Thankx for stoppin' by Usyoucan.

  • And you might see another one shortly!

  • lol you should have just taken the wheel off

    good luck on your build

those carbs will be a bit of a pain

if i saw correctly they are CV carbs (constant verbosity) and use vacuum to open the slide

  • Yes, these carbs are old troublemakers, the goal now is to fix it up and sell, too much work to make this bike cool again, sorry to say.

  • So you have a lot of time on your hands yes? For such projects things get side tracked and end up

    different.Curious how it turns out.

  • After conversing with my father, it would be in our best interest to re-assemble and sell her as is, she is worth more as she is nearly all original. As for time, yes, I have much free time :)

  • Kick ass !

  • Thanks Syd. :D

  • Let us see a smokey burnout when you get it done.ya-hoo

  • Maybe that can be arraigned. :)

  • sweet!!

  • :D How is your head man, you livin'?

  • I really really like Suzi and you know she is special, please take good care of her, old lady (:

  • I know you like Suzi, maybe you should come over sometime and take her off my hands. :D I cannot rip her apart like this, What I want to do is fix her, ride her and sell her to someone who can take better care of her. :) I hope all is well, I saw the news. My thoughts and prayers to you two. Hit me up.

  • You just had to prove that guy wrong didn't you?

    LOL

I do the same thing too.

  • LOL Yep. :)
