  • Where can I download this?

  • wow what a sell out, hes actually commented on evil corporations including coca cola and macdonalds in past interviews.

  • krs beat shan....again. shan is like the jokers to krs one's batman. but also needed

  • It's a damn sprite commercial, chill the fuck out people good god.

  • i LOVE KRS One but DAMN man Shan won that one! how come i've never seen this commercial before?? when was this commercial on tv???

  • All these so called conscious rappers ain't nothing but moneyhungry hypocrites destroying black communites... In the end it's all only music & entertainment

  • @sephardimm ..AND HOW IS SPRITE/COCA-COLA DESTROYING BLACK COMMUNITIES??..SOUNDS LIKE REGURGITATED BS TO ME..

IN THE END IT'S DO FOR YOUR OWN COMMUNITY AND STOP THE PEOPLE IN IT FROM DESTROYING IT

  • @2020TYBO how, because there plants are in the third world countries using all the fresh drinking water leaving NONE for the poor mofos that are dying.,thats how.

  • @smallz2k ..OK DOC..

  • Shan went hard

  • mc shan totally won that battle

  • These 90s sprite commercials wer th shit lol

  • couldnt said it better.. shouts to note156

  • That was that shit

  • Drakes version is rated P for Poop and Piss : D

  • Woow another blast from a great past. I shot this w/ Mr. Ward in the Brooklyn Armory one cold february day, it was colder inside that outside. My first taste where Coca Cola was taking their products. The beginning of "ghetto Fabulous"

  • Shan actually won this one :D

  • It's really sad that KRS lowered himself to doing sprite commercials, also all you people debating these performances are losers and know nothing about hip hop.

  • @m0nik3r what u talkin bout almost all rappers where doing commercials for either sprite or st ides... he aint lower himself at all jus cuz of a commercial

  • @m0nik3r .This ain't hip hop , this is rap for 1 thing, and to endorse a major product back in the day was great for rappers. 3, It's was made to be debated, it's a rap battle ,DUH....You don't know jack shit

  • @gmccall22

What are you talking about my dude.....Rap is a component of Hip Hop...Therefore Rap music = Hip Hop.

  • @note156...House/Club music is component of Disco, yet still considered different in definition

  • @gmccall22

Not really a logical comparison in this case. but ok. For that to make sense you would have to ignore the components of Hip Hop...or actually think Rap and Hip Hop music are two different things....which are not...

Rap has different sub genres if thats what you mean...Hardcore....Gangsta....Hipster...Nu-Hop.....whatever....its still rapping. And all of that is hip hop.....i think this is what you are talking about right?

  • @note156 Hip-hop is represented by an emcee and rap is for coporate use

  • @BLADE471000

Rap is a part of hip hop...Rap is a verb....its not a philosophical meaning behind it....of course people are welcomed to view it as such....But the rap/hip hop thing to me is just ridiculous...Hip Hop has components that make it....Rap is one of those components.

  • @note156 Well then amigo just check out Kris Parker interviews:)

  • @BLADE471000

Why? and thats a serious question by the way...

  • @BLADE471000 Just watch them friend.

  • If memory serves correct, there is definitely a longer version of this ad out there including brief ring introductions and a longer verse from possibly both MCs, definitely KRS-One. Notice that he gives Shan strikes 2 and 3, but there's no strike 1. There was also a prequel to this ad with the two of them striking a "fight poster" pose and the tag line "KRS-One vs. MC Shan: Let's Do This!"

  • @tamalie2 Your'e right there is a longer version of this commercial I remeber it vividly,MC Shan's verse is longer that this he says"whose suppose to knock me outta position KRIS? No rapper ever has and ever will you see I obey my thirst and I got no skill" unfortunately no one has yet to upload it yet.

  • does anyone have the A Tribe Called Quest "first things first, try a cold cold Sprite and obey your thirst" commercial??? That was a sweet beat that I need to hear one mo' gin

  • This shit is still fresh

  • na if you put in work in the underground you deserve the spot light.. but if you came out of no where and people are telling you thats the next big thing.. is whack.

  • why do they have drake in the new one so gay

  • wow wanna know whats fucked up? Sprite commercials went from: Shan vs KRS1, Nas and AZ, Grand puba, mack 10, goodie mob, pete rock and CL smooth....... To drake.

    fuckin sad shit.

  • @FuccThatShitNigga I Fuckin Know Right!!!....Damn

  • RIP Mr. Magic at 0:11

  • what the fuck?? where the fuck was I?

  • As usual, KRS lyrically rapes Shan.

  • Shan won this going away.

  • @justtony21 What?! NO!!!!! KRS-One slayed Shan on this commercial.

  • @QCongress83 nah homie, shan got this one. simple flow, pin-point delivery, quick and decisive. even a hip-hip novice can follow this. krs-one while dope, just lost this.

  • @justtony21 Naw, KRS-One was the winner of his battle. His delivery was harder, clever, smart and witty like his flow is always is. Plus, he flipped it in a way Shan couldn't catch him.

  • This commercial would of been sicker if they replaced the sprite with a 40oz of O.E.

  • Wow, I remember when rap use to be about more than just cars, money, and whores. And oh yeah, this commercial was sick!

  • This commercial is so sick...I can't stop watching it...

  • @TheEazyDuzIt95 - Remeber the Nas and AZ commercial. They don't make em' like they used to. This shit is fly!

  • MC Shan and KRS-ONE are two of the most untouchable MC's of all time.

  • The only sad thing about this commercial is that if this were on an album I would purchase it. That is really saying something about how sad todays music is, when a commercial with two hip hop legends and a legendary dj are better than today's trash they are playing. These artist nowadays need to wake up and relize that they are killing the artform of music with every grill they put in their mouth and every song they write about a lolipop and cranking a souljah boy. SHM!

  • I remember this when I was in high school.

  • Uncle Puma M.C Shan won that battle, don't believe me, then sound da ALARM!!!!

  • I still have yet to see a real mc these days equipped with three things... content, flow and delivery.. if ya ain't got these three things.. put the mike down!!!!!

  • @mikemillion2000 THANK YOU!!! DAMMIT THANK YOU!!! PLEASE ONE OF YOU WHACK ASS EMCEES READ THIS AND TAKE HEED!!!

  • @justtony21 It's like Jay Z stated, "These young boys. Is like fire drills. False alarms, ahh. Next Don, nah, he ain't got it, on to the next one..."

  • Dag, take me back!!! I used to love this commercial. I remember I was like "Finally both my boys battlin' face to face" This was really enjoyable!!!!

  • I can play this dope video all day long than listen to garbage like Soulja Boy & Lil Wayne anyday.

  • what song uses the beat at :15?

  • It's taken from The Bridge is Over by Boogie Down Productions.

  • @xXgabe626Xx The bridge is over by krs-one homie

  • BDP (Boogie Down Productions) - "The bridge is over"

  • shan probably won this commercial but his career was over after bridge is over

  • Battle ROYALE

KRS, Jay Z, LL, Kane, GRAP, Graig G, Snoop and Luda

I may have to go with LL or G RAp

  • This gets me so hyped up! KRS One is the shiznit!

  • shan got'em

  • Boom Bap original rap!!! ha ha

  • Shan hittem up

  • a top 10 all time commercial

  • Shan won!!

  • dope!!!! when i saw the pete rock and cl smooth one, i was instantly reminded of this one! classic shit.

  • who supposed to knock me out position Chris ? ..shan got dat one

  • dang I watched this like 6 or 7 times that was a tight "battle"

  • KRS-One, KRS-1, KRS-WON! Kris kills! Kris killed it!!!

Seriously, though, BIG shot-out to BDP. And as always, R.I.P Scott La Rock. Always! Never forget...

  • Ayo, "...who's supposed ta' stop me? Chris?"

  • I LOVE SPRITE

  • As for this rhyme, c'mon, KRS easily got him--again! Queens could never fuck around with BDP. Let alone the "Juice Crew". (Even QU's own 50 Snitch admitted it back in 2003!) So, yeah, even this though this was a "big-up" for Sprite & the entire Coca-Cola corporation (I'm more of a Pepsi cat, BTB), I think Kris came through against Shan again. But, of course, opinions vary. Shan is still cool. Him and Kris went on to become good friends after the whole BDP/Juice Crew rivalry. Now that's Hip-Hop!

  • CLASSIC!!!!!! A classic commercial. Hell, in retrospect, even ads seemed to be better back in the 90's. (I believe this one is from '94 or '95. I always go with the latter.) This takes me back to watching "Soul Train" on Channel 11 (that's PIX/CW 11 today--ILL! :() Saturday mornings. Man, I miss it... Oh yeah, this ad also ran a few times during the "Soul Train Awards," too. Is it really back on again? I gotta find that new BET (Bamboozled Entertainment Television) channel. Hey, why not? Lol...

  • This commercial is not that far ago mid 90's..IIRC about 99 - 2000.

KRS one still murked him but it was all fun.

  • @SDSOverfiend

Nah, I definitely remember seeing this ad for the first time in mid-90's ('94 or '95--I'm sure it was 1995). Coca-Cola had quite a few decent Sprite Hip-Hop-themed ads on the air at the time (remember the "You're All I Need" 'generational gap' commercial?). Now, it could've still been running into the late-90's/early-2000's. Matter of fact, I think I saw it while watching an episode of "Soul Train" in late-2000/early-2001. Maybe not.

And, yeah, Kris DID win! (KRS-WON! :))

  • Don't forget the "Voltron" themed Hip Hop commercials with Fat Joe, Common, Mack 10, Goodie Mob and Afrikaa Bambaataa. Now those were pretty good ones: watch?v=IkODvs4grqE

  • im definitely gonna drink a sprite tomorrow

  • me too

  • if only this was on tv!

  • it used to be in the late 90"s

  • Well, wouldnt it be interesting to see Mike D, Ad Roc & MCA, not forgetting Mix Master Mike doing a rap for this too...

    Grand Royal-1992

  • yo! mc shan got that round!

  • they sold out all the talk krs one do about cooporations wanna use hip hop and what he do work for sprite

    sellout

  • Yo, shut the fuck up!!! This shit was commercial was ill!

  • dont be mad

  • selling out to coorperations and utilizing a coorperation to spread a culture are two different things.

Its only selling out when your not doing anything to benefit what you rep...

  • @note156 i like ur comment---well said...

  • @note156 plus sprt is one the better drinks under coca cola has really nothing bad in it except sugar where as coke can strip rust off of a nail, melt a penny and police use it to wash away blood off of the street.

all i am sayin is getting paid millions of dollars for a 30 second commmercial advertising the better part coca cola is a smart move to there career

  • shan, wheres round 2

  • Comment removed

  • LOL

Sprite don't do rap commercials no more

  • its ashame rap is not raw like this anymore. WHAT HAPPEN

  • Comment removed

  • krs one took it hands down shan just had a flow that sounded cool.

  • Comment removed

  • Mc Shan killed it.I got to see him and Krs1 recently for hip hop appreciation week in Atlanta at Center Stage

  • mc shan won that one

  • yo all i can say is obey your thirst even though i acn drink that shit no mo i still give the comp credit for showcasing my brothers love life live long obey your thirst 1 my thirstins

  • haha..yeah maaannn....

  • I hate to say it but this and the St. Ides commercials back then are better than some of the singles these cats are droppin' today!

  • They don't make music liek this anymore... unfortunately... Hip Hop went from RAW SHIT.. to straight up garbage.. they took the street outta it and put bitches, pools and big cars init...

  • PREACH!!

  • Amazing how even though it's a shill for CoCa Cola, it is still a live commercial.

And really? So you telling me that for the past 20 years, nothing noteworthy has come out? Stay in the 80's, or get your head out the sand.

  • You are right. Souljah boi is the SHIT.... LOL With the exception of Dr. Dre (which is really still 80s to me) B.I.G and maybe a few rare gems here and there, no I still think majority of it is GARBAGE. You can take all of it from 1990 until now, and I will keep everything before that. Are you seriously comparing the rap on the radio today to what happened back then?

Of course you are 23 and from CALI. You weren't around when Hip Hop was at its peak....

  • You're acting as if that means I do not know anything about anything, and my taste in music has been sullied because of my age and location. And why would you compare the music of today to that? Judge a piece of work for it's own value instead of trying to Thriller-Bad things to death. I'm fairly sure there were a TON of shit records made pre '89.

  • I'm not acting. I'm stating my opinion and the fact that you weren't around that time, and not even in the same area where Hip Hop ruled (NYC). How on earth could you know?

    Thriller-Bad?

Sure there were shit records, but that doesn't negate the over all time period compared to now. With the exception of some of the bboy scene today, Hip Hop has either become bourgeoisie with paris hilton or a criminal element trying to be "gansta." It is money drive compared to back then. It's corporate.

  • Thriller-Bad is what I use to say how people compare something great to something that is good. You can not compare Thriller (classic album) to Bad (a good album). Judge each body of work as it's own, because if you are always trying to compare, you will rarely find anything better.

  • Truer words were never spoken. To be perfectly honest with you I can't choose between MJ's three albums (Off the Wall,Thriller,Bad) because they all contain songs that I absolutely love.

  • This 30 second commercial is doper than most hip hop albums in the last 5 years!

  • Extend that to the last 15 years shun... Hip Hop stating going down in 1989 when MTV got a hold of it on Yo MTV Garbage Raps...

  • @olskoolrich

    that's the serious truth.

  • really?

  • this should have been an actual series of commercials with KRS and Shan, continuing the battle.. diet sprite.. cherry sprite..

  • This w s a tribute to the classic battle had by MC Shan and KRS1. Good commercial

  • does anyone have the tribe called quest sprite ad? that was the one that i can never find it reminds me of high school....

  • i alwayS adMired krS .. .. i Had forgoTTeN How SkiNNy SHaN waS THeN .. lol.

  • I love KRS, but he is the king of contradiction. I remember him dissing commercial rap before he did this, and then went and did a Puff Daddy remix for his "I Got Next" album. But whatever.

  • Shan took it hands down and the battle between him and krs one, ..........jivee123

  • k r s 1

  • both of them ripped it!!!

  • they both killed it and its just a commercial ot a real battle lol

  • Shan bust KRS-1 AZZ.

  • these videos are so hiphop.

who would've thought this could come from a Sprite commercial?

  • KRS takes it.

  • mc.shans got the flow

  • whos suppose to knock my position?kris?

    killed it

  • i think shan won that....small victory though.

  • shan rules

  • Chill Blastmasta killed that nigga.

"Shan see triple sprites withing his eyesight"

    Chill lol!

  • shan killed it

  • i think this battle was staged haha

  • @scottja140 no shit sherlock

  • wats the beat at :18 krs ones part??

  • the bridge is over by boogydown productions

  • the bride is over" off of the criminal minded album.

  • lol rap aint what it used ta b-

  • i love how the beat changes when its different rappers

  • hey you directed this!! i remember this commercial i loved it still do!!

  • I say Shan got this cause he went personal on this, first he took krs one's line from (SOUND OF DA POLICE) that WHOOP! WHOOP! line then he called him by his other name kris

  • Shan tu eres el Hip Hop... Yeeah

  • they were both good but gotta give it to the blastmasta krs-one

  • KRS made and then destroyed Shan.

  • i think KRS had that

  • MC Shan came out the winner on this battle, but we all know who the overall better artist is, then at least. Their both legends in their own way.

  • i thought shan was better...

  • KRS kinda killed MC shan.

    but much love to both

    of those REAL HIP HOP

    LEGENDS

  • KRS-ONE is lyricially a beast

    MC Shan's sound of

    his voice & facial expressions

    PURE HIP HOP

  • who's the first mc?

  • yo shan over krs

  • does anyone have this whole song? i first heard it on the radio. it's like 1:30 long.. just like the grand puba sprite commercial. it's a long one as well that i heard on the radio back then.

  • How sad is it that this 30 second sprite commercial is more live, and has more lyrical talent then ANYTHING out today?

  • And that Soulja Boy should be the commercial rapper (AT BEST) instead of having an (ugh)... #1 hit. Rock of Love becoming a ratings monster, Tila Tequila getting ANOTHER season and Flav recruiting MORE ho's is proof the industry is collapsing on itself and may one day be eaten alive by either EMO or COUNTRY.

  • i can not stand all the new rapper out there, there are maybe 2 that are good, the only good stuff is the old rap

  • That's the general idea, but a lot of kids haven't heard/don't care about the REAL RAP that made the industry what it is. I could barely walk when KRS-ONE was at his peak, but I still have plenty of respect for him, Rakim and the rest who actually relied on lyrics FIRST then put it to the beat unlike today where all you need is a hook and THAT'S IT (ex. Laffy Taffy.)

  • i wasn't even alive when some of the good artists were around, but i still found them

  • And I'm happy that you did. The underage set nowadays thinks Soulja Boy and D4L are legends in the making, which isn't really surprising as Tila Tequila's flat, talent-less ass gets away with calling herself a celebrity and Flav is better known for picking up skanks than being with PE. Seriously, some of the girls DIDN'T KNOW HOW TO SPELL HIS NAME. It was bad enough the first few times, but it was like a dozen "Flava Flav"s and "William DRAKE."

  • yeah really, he shouldn't be in a show like that, he should be less made fun of like he does in that show and get into a better one

  • The joke's not being played on Flav (unless he TRULY thinks he'll find Ms. Right on a dating show) as much as HE'S playing a joke on SOCIETY. It should've be a joke just to see hot women chasing after him, but he's spun it into a CAREER of breeding MORE "reality stars." A sane world wouldn't let New York be a "star" just for being an ignorant (she didn't think DOLPHINS have BRAINS) obnoxious, vindictive bitch with an EVEN MORE degenerate mother to round up EVERY stereotype of Black women.

  • yeah she's fucked up, a bitch iz a bitch by nwa perfectly describes her

  • Knowing New York, she'd likely want that remixed to "A HBIC iz a HBIC" to add a few more seconds to her 15min. of fame. From what I heard, she's aiming for ANOTHER reality show about trying to become a movie star and likely leaving Taylor-Made in the dust.

  • cL A SS i C mA T eR iAL

  • In this world of ours there are these things called jokes. They are usually told to incite reactions of joy and laughter in people and are not to be taken literally. You obviously have no sense of humour because you can't even see the cleverness in the joke.

  • little known fact: the riff between Shan and KRS was over this commercial. Shan got a case of Sprite and KRS sampled it.

  • Sigh, stop posting shit on the sprite commercial videos you idiot.

  • Thats Real Hip-Hop Right Here.

The Played The Bridge first and then The Bridge is Over after lol.

  • obviously you don't know what hip hop is
