Man ever since i have been watching your vids im addicted you have the best teaching skills i have seen in a long time. I know you told me theres know students on east coast . so what about putting out instructional vid, limb destruction first since ive been a very big fan of. have a good one.
I have not seen such expert teaching in America before. Are you the only one who knows this material? Why do others not share what they know, or do they just not know it?
very helpful, great demonstration - with the knee locked out rather than sapu, can you drop straight down for a leg break? just wondering if thats an option
Of course! If they're off balance, it's pretty much open season, in my opinion. I just prefer to lock the knee as a prerequisite BEFORE sapu...Or anything else.
thanks, i have been trying to learn principles of silat for a while now and this really helps. anyone know any silat teachers in daytona beach or area, fl, let me know.
on the topic with what you were saying about the bigger motion sapu's i've found is that people with good balance can step over and out and regain there balance at the end of your fancier sapu.
don't worry mate. He's just misunderstood how to do sapu. Sapu is done as a 'surprise attack.' Silat doesn't do sapu all the times. Nice video, Cikgu!
When I teach Sapu I do make a point that shoewear does make a difference. What you wear and what your opponent wears. They all offer different levels of weight and traction, especially as applied to the sapu. Good stuff Bobbe.
Thanks for this. Found your videos very helpful. You are vey generous. Clear and concise and well explained.

To what end? Just adding more motion to it? Make it look prettier? Striking a pose?
Don't tell me a thing is possible, I already knew that & I never said it was a question of balance in the first place.
Tell me why a thing is NECESSARY. I am more interested in winning the fight than I am in dancing the dance.

Hey Bobby,
As always, great work; thanks for demystifying
this simple concept, which often is shrouded and convoluted in order to appear mystical.
