I can't express just how much I like Sibelius's music. It's nice to know other people also have noticed just how incredibly beautiful the slow movement of the 3rd Symphony is! It should be more famous.. play it at my funeral please!!
would be fun to know who is playing ... it's atmospheric (and has the typical"Finnish" Sibelius sound) and the fairly fast tempo is quite ok - a lagging tempo would be much worse. and your last sentence is probably the greatest compliment one gives for a work of music.
I'm sure, you're right - if he weren't finnish! But still, a wonderfull marriage of music and pictures, with great edditing. Two thumbs up! (When you make Mahler or Dvorak, let me know, okay?)
A bit of confusion there...the Swedish Guy is my second Youtube account that I use to bamboozle my brother (davidabailey). Anyway, thanks for the compliment; I'm currently working on Brahms.

Good mini biopic. But the Carelia suite would have been a mire suitable soundtrack
I like composers with French sounding names: and Frederique Chopin and Jean Sibelius.
Can you imgine him making it big with his real name: Janne Sibbe!

His name had been Sibelius from two generation, dude. And his first name was not Jane, which is a nickname, but Johan Christian.
And by the way, Chopin was called Frederic-Francois from Fryderyk Franciszek, becaue he lived in Paris.
