exactly...scott sorta has that low grunt vocal thing at times, but that's it. what got them that bad rap too, was mainly overlooked by all the critics: the fact that they used the same producer as pearl jam. that core album sounded, production wise, almost exactly the same as pearl jam's first cd. fuck the critics though. STP was pure hard rock, not "grunge". they were LA and relished their love for real rock( Zep, Doors, Aerosmith, Sabbath) or "cock rock", that was looked down upon at the time
