I think people should honestly rate your songs in comparison to your best songs. DON'T ABUSE THE 5 STAR RATING! I'm not saying this was a bad song, i personally don't think it was 5 star quality. Then it will be easier to compile a best of Song-a-day list, which is what you're trying to do right?

My favourite part of this song is the first 30 seconds because of its narrative quality. You seem to have the makings of a good storyteller. The best example that I can think of is "EGM, 1up, Goodbye!" (at least the beginning segment). However, while the storytelling segment of the EGM, 1up song creates a dramatic effect that informs the tone of the song, this song's intro doesn't really cohere with its other parts. Have you considered doing a Song A Day song with a linear narrative?
