Yeah Craig McCraken created the powerpuff girls when he was in college as a class project. Only when he created them they were originally the Whoop Ass girls, made with a can of whoop ass. I'm not sure if he changed the name before trying to get a deal with CN or if they asked him to change it, but either way.. uh.. yeah. So there. :P

it's kinda hard to prefer 1 version over the other because they both have things that the other lacks. to me, the powerpuff girls had character development, action, and a lot of "entertaining the kids while entertaining the adults " kind of humor, and the powerpuff girls z had plot development, style, and a "light, shojo style" kind of humor. but that's just my opinion :)
