@15iloveyaoi Why would someone someone release their information on the internet like that? That number will never go away and you just gave about a thousand stalkers permission to find you. It's awesome that you want to help, but next time suggest a website or something.
People pressure me into shaving/waxing my eyebrows because I'm a Croatian girl and I have a natural beginning to a unibrow. They don't think I can be beautiful with it, so I'm going to prove them wrong. I'm not fake and I never will be.
@MsTiberiius As long as you're comfortable with it, you do whatever you want! It's just that to be taken seriously in this society, you have to be clean and polished and a uni-brow, by society's standards, is unclean and messy,
What a shitty video. Any kid who's stupid enough to let themselves be influenced so much by television and the media deserves be depressed and anorexic. There are paces just a few hundred miles away who have REAL problems, like war and famine, poverty and living in constant danger 24/7. Also, way to play shitty commercial crap music. peace and Love.
@MrOrange121 what if that was your kid that was influenced like that, would you still say that they deserve to be depressed and anorexic. Of course there is larger problems but people needs to be informed about these things to.
@MrOrange121 SMH why do people like you exist? Who raised you to be such a twat? You literally came on here to be a complete bastard and post a hate comment on here didn't you? Ever heard of the saying 'never allow someones opinion of you to become a reality'? Your 'opinion' means nothing so you might what to turn to someone who gives a damn what you have to say :)
i guess the media teaches us to be exremely superficial, everyone around the girls is judging them on how they look and the girls themselves think thier self worth comes from how they look, were all taght to care a shit load about superficial things and be shallow as oppose to having any kind of moral values and decency
@Jauckor Dove trying to 'come clean'...fitting, if you think of it, in the battle for cleanliness that soap brands play in our heads...me? the trust is absolutely broken, I consider anything coming out of tv as multiple layers of lies and some little truth in there (if there is some available), for that 'authentic flavour' you know?
The Dove commercial "evolution" process was really amazing. So many girls see posters, magazine covers, or billboards like that and think that they could never look that way. The truth is that most of the model's "beauty" is fake and photoshopped.
I'm into kpop (korean pop) and everybody always looks perfect. They have almost no diversity so after paying attention to just korean pop stars, I don't want to be taller and tanner, I feel like my skin should be pale and I should be shorter so I can be cuter and attractive. D: But I've recently realized that they don't look like they do on tv or in pictures.
@IAmBeautifulToo WOW. Beauty is SO different in every country. Don't try and phase yourself to fit the media's image. Instead, show the world your own definition of beauty!
My account is BoAKwon140, but this is my grandma's youtube and I don't want to log her out, but this is really a great video. My teacher showed this to us in class today and I almost felt like crying and a few girls did cry, it really made me mad how some guys laughed at some parts in the beginning.
@gladicilla1 NO WAY :D AW That's so cool! I'm glad it had an impact on you guys! That is really mean that they laughed! But I'm sure as the video kept playing, they became quiet because it's not only the girls that are effected by the media.
@ljaureguiv Because it points out the importance of our need to pay attention to what is going on in the media. Teens are losing their lives and souls to this and it's time many advocates stood up to make changes.
@KillersOfConfidence thank you so much for this video. I couldn't breathe after seeing the so-called "evolution" process starting at 1:19. At the end of the video with the positive affirmations, I couldn't help but cry. Thanks so much. Everyone, we need to fight. We need to make this video viral and post in on our facebooks and twitters and blogs.
@amymichele3 Thanks for helping. It's really up to us--the people who care, who have no monetary incentive, to help susceptible young (girls) see the truth. I learned recently that 99% of photos in magazines are retouched. Models have highly-paid professional retouchers (Photoshop experts with cameras) who sit around altering every single image before it's released into the public
@KillersOfConfidence i didn't ask ur gender haha, and its a valid source, remember that episode? spongebob completely infuses that he needs to be tall dark and handsome, i'm tellin ya!! you gotta get the kids while they are young lol
there is nothing wrong with the grammar! i read it all and i understood it perfectly. and im short sighted,so if a sortsighted person thinks its brilliant then..... its really good!
Interesting, however research have given evidence that eating disorders are only slightly exacerbated by media images- other environmental and genetic factors play a larger role in eating disorders than the media. Fact is too, obesity is a much bigger problem than Anorexia or Bulimia and we certainly aren't bombarded with idealistic images of obese people! That is evidence enough to disprove the "media is the cause" theory for eating disorders.
@MrJthoughts You're absolutely right. But, my focus wasn't on eating disorders. It was on the effects of the media (specifically the fashion/modeling industry) on teenagers.
Hi, I'm actually using this in my classroom as a discussion point. Thanks for the compilation. :)
