At least in this case the Reps have some chance to gain valor points. On our server the Imperials gank us on Ilum 24/7.

I'm not saying that this behavior should be encouraged. I'm just saying that dying on purpose for a mutual goal is still better than dying for no valor points.

Ive documented the population of Ilum over the course of a day. Peak was at 24. Out of that 10 people joined our ops group. We faced a full ops group of 24 Imperials. We died then we gave up. Happened every day since.

Illum sucks anyway, the daily/weekly take forever to complete and if you are republic you have to wait for your faction to group up, if you are empire you also have to wait for the republic to group up or you can waste your time ganking 1-2 players for an hour+ thats not real open pvp.

I like trading valor for gear I will just afk in town(warfronts) with! People with full champion gear afk in warfronts for battlemaster bags, but whats the point? On a side note, Ilum is actually very fun now, and I think Bioware did a good job on it. One issue is server imbalance though - sometimes one faction would be completely outnumbered and hide in their base.

Diminishing returns won't change this. each faction has a 24 man ops group. They switch killing them, unless your diminishing return is 100% after 1 kill, they do this twice and done with the daily.

Farming Valor you have to do this 5 times in 5 minutes to stop getting returns. SO they would just switch into smaller groups, 2x 12 and stand in opposite corners of center and trade out.

The fact is having x kills for anything, valor or daily, is just a lazy way of doing it.

This doesn't happen on "The Twin Spears" server. Non-stop fighting - no bunching up and trading kills. Granted, there are far more imperials, but yesterday evening I was grouped with 10 republic and we rolled quite a bit when the numbers were even.
