@telhacerta most digital pedals r called delay, and most analogs are echos, but theyre just names, cuz theres the boss analog delay and this is digital and its called echo...
@37gnik Dumb question but is the battery fresh or are you using the power supply. when my pedals have a volume drop its a good indicator i need a new battery.
Sounds like theres a volume drop when the pedal is turned on...
Is this true? Cuz i can not stand that when a pedal does that.
With that said, this pedal sounds great. I'm trying to decide between this and the carbon copy. But if this has a volume drop, then I'm def going with the carbon copy.

dont be a douche. these guys demo pedals so you dont have to buy before you try. they're about the best company on the website, so lots of people try to contact them daily. pro guitar shop is as far from being snobby as possible
I didnt realize just how "nano" this line of pedals really is. It fits in the palm of your hand easily. I could close my fist on a memory toy or LPB-1 and totally conceal it.
the edge doesnt just use one pedal guys, he turns the thing on by one pedal but its actually two different radio things, basically its two differnet pedals triggered off one pedal, they react off each other to make where the streets have no name. its like 500 hundred dollars, this can also make a good sound to it, but not perfect.
Yeah, he does use a Memory Man for more melodic anolog delay sounds but I think for more choppy digital delay sounds he uses a rack mount processor(Korg SDD-2000 I beleive). Just get a digital delay stompbox that has tap tempo. I use a Boss DD-6 and it works pretty good.
Actually, only on their first album did the edge use a memory man. Then from October-Achtung Baby he used a Boss DD2. Now he uses a TC Electronic Nova Delay. The memory man IMO will in 20 years considered the holy grail of analog delay and when I die I'll leave my early 90s one with the integrated power cable to my kids and they won't have to work a day in their life XD
You're totally wrong! Edge *NEVER* used a DD20 pedal as his main delay unit on the albums "October" to A"chtung Baby." Actually, he used the EH MM/DMM units in "Boy", "October" and "War" and from "Unforgettable Fire" to the present day, he's been using Korg A3, SDD3000 and TC2290 as his main delay units, especially the TC2290.
@racerid Correct! You should check out his old recording setup as well- they use multiple amps with different delays and mic the physical delay as well- some crazy stuff.
I don't think you can do better for $100, but the lack of a tap delay is personally a huge turn off for me. I feel like a digital delay really requires one simply because the echos are much more pronounced. They need to be exact on the beat.
I'm a keyboardist. I work with synths and rhodes about equally, and I'm looking for something really dirty and analog sounding, with some oscillation & such. Unfortunately, EHX delay pedals don't really do that, so can you guys recommend anything?
This one doesn't but the EH Deluxe Mem Man will because it is analog. You might want to watch our analog delay comparison video too. There are some oscillation tests on it.
Two totally different animals man. One is Digital the other analog. This pedal does what it states digital delay. What i love about this pedal is its very basic easy to dial in. I have both the mxr and #1 echo i love em both.
I'd highly suggest you try them out yourself and compare. There is no "better" with pedals per se. I'm of the philosophy that there is only "different". Every pedal has it's own unique voice. You just have to find the one that suits your taste and the sound you are looking for.
I think it depends on what you need. Overall the CC being analog and having the modulation gives makes it an overall better pedal. However if you want pristine tones and a nice basic delay this one should suffice. I'm using an EHX #1 Echo for longer ambient stuff or filling out my sound. Plan on getting something like a CC though to cover the darker tones.
Lately there have been some Digital Delays that can oscillate like an analog delay. Check out our vids of the Carl Martin Echotone, Subdecay Echobox and Mad Prof Deep Blue Delay. Pretty convincing stuff!
not sure. try looking for pedals specially made for bass guitars, i know they do make them, ive seen a few wah's and a zoom multi effect processor for bass'

I think, the Carbon Copy is much better, expecially for any kind of vintage sound, which "some Gilmour style" would be ;)
But I'd prefer analog delays anyway, because I appeciate their natural tone!
The #1 Echo actually is quite analog sounding, but not as sweet as the Carbon Copy!
And I hate, that digital ones are not capable of self osscilation!
