  • does this have the ability to self oscillate ala Sonic Youth - Antenna?

  • Memory boy is just a better version of this for the same price

  • yo can i use this to play welcome to the jungle cos i bought this and cant use my own damn thing as well as my friend so can i play that what settings do i use

  • what is a good pedal to get the 80's kind of pop sound, the guitar sound you hear in the beggning and through out just like heaven by the cure?

  • can you use distortion with this??

  • u2 yes

  • I've had this pedal for a while and it is amazing. One of the clearest sounding delays ever.

  • @kess924 If you've only used EHX, that is.

  • What do you guys think is better for fattening up solos? Analog or Digital Delay?

  • @gaaramonkeyx analog

  • What's the difference between Delay and Echo??

  • @telhacerta most digital pedals r called delay, and most analogs are echos, but theyre just names, cuz theres the boss analog delay and this is digital and its called echo...

  • @telhacerta They're the same. It all depends about how you think of it.

  • Has anyone noticed a volume drop when the effect is on? I own a #1 echo and I stopped using it because of this problem.

  • @37gnik Dumb question but is the battery fresh or are you using the power supply. when my pedals have a volume drop its a good indicator i need a new battery.

  • @37gnik Yes i have that similar poblem to, tone becomes soft when pedal is on, why is that , any one else have that problem ?

  • @37gnik same for me, bought the line 6 dl4.....what did you buy?

  • until the end of the world!!!!!

  • Great delay pedal. Never had any problems

I like to use it to make robotic distortion with the feedback at about 2 o clock and the delay really low, plus a bunch of distortion

  • until the end of the world !!

  • how does this compare to the memory boy?

  • why does the delay time knob start to slap back around 12 o clock?

  • what would it sound like if i use it in front of the amp?

  • what was the song Andy was playing at the begining

  • Until the end of the world

  • Sounds like theres a volume drop when the pedal is turned on...

Is this true? Cuz i can not stand that when a pedal does that.

With that said, this pedal sounds great. I'm trying to decide between this and the carbon copy. But if this has a volume drop, then I'm def going with the carbon copy.

  • this or memory boy?

  • i like the setting at 5:30 most

  • Fuck being clearer and noise free!! Tape loops forever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Is better the Memory what the DD-3 .... I am so indecise , what buy ?

  • does everyone knows how much mA this piece uses??? I am asking because i ve heard that if you turn on the blend knob the sound signal gets "down"

correct me if anyonew know better....

  • In comparison to Ibanez AD 9-10-80 and Biyang AD 7-8-10, i bought this one today for me as a gadget delay device for boys.

    Hope it reaches me soon.

  • could use a better name

  • umm can this be used kinda like a looper, by the way you guys never answer my questions , as lf your snobs or something

  • Nope, not a looper, just a delay.

If you have a real question you might consider emailing us directly. We have over 600 videos on youtube, so posting your question as a comment on one video isn't likely to get our attention.

  • @ProGuitarShopDemos or just walk into the store in portland.. the people running it are prety nice .

  • dont be a douche. these guys demo pedals so you dont have to buy before you try. they're about the best company on the website, so lots of people try to contact them daily. pro guitar shop is as far from being snobby as possible

  • @loganbramhall1989 the boss dd-7 is a delay w/ 40 secs of loop time

  • @loganbramhall1989 Lmao. Fucking retard.

  • @loganbramhall1989 wow. cry more LOL

  • Sounds like there's a volume effect going on in the last example as well?

  • this is such an underrated delay pedal.

  • I didnt realize just how "nano" this line of pedals really is. It fits in the palm of your hand easily. I could close my fist on a memory toy or LPB-1 and totally conceal it.

  • @texasranga they modelled them on your dick?

  • can it give a u2 sound

  • As much as any other digital pedal will.

  • yeah!jst got one yesterday!!

  • so this the memory boy the carbon coppy of the dd3?

  • the edge doesnt just use one pedal guys, he turns the thing on by one pedal but its actually two different radio things, basically its two differnet pedals triggered off one pedal, they react off each other to make where the streets have no name. its like 500 hundred dollars, this can also make a good sound to it, but not perfect.

  • Have you seen "it might get loud"? the edge uses hundreds of pedals!

  • everybody and there mother test delays and echo with clean sounds, dosent anybody use echo with gain anymore

  • I've ordered one of these for my bedroom. Should be here tomorow. I can't wait.

  • Racerid is right about the Edge's use of the Deluxe Memory Man on "Boy", "October" and "War", guys.

  • i got the meory boy. its shit. should have got htis

  • iiuu

  • the player made it sound awesome.

  • UNTIL THE END OF THE WORLD!

  • Sounds pretty good

  • SSWWELLSSS...

  • i wonder how andy made the sound at 6:28 to 6:38.

  • Turn the feedback all the way up.

  • Max'd feedback

  • How come this and marshall echohead come so close price wise?

    Which one? This yes?

  • Can you set this to only repeat once?

  • it cant use 9v batteries it can only use power supplies

  • if i wantted to do some u2 stuff, which would be better, this or the red repeat?

  • Well The Edge always used a EHX Deluxe Memory Man so I'd imagine this.

  • Yeah, he does use a Memory Man for more melodic anolog delay sounds but I think for more choppy digital delay sounds he uses a rack mount processor(Korg SDD-2000 I beleive). Just get a digital delay stompbox that has tap tempo. I use a Boss DD-6 and it works pretty good.

  • Actually, only on their first album did the edge use a memory man. Then from October-Achtung Baby he used a Boss DD2. Now he uses a TC Electronic Nova Delay. The memory man IMO will in 20 years considered the holy grail of analog delay and when I die I'll leave my early 90s one with the integrated power cable to my kids and they won't have to work a day in their life XD

  • Wrong. He used a boss dd2.

  • You're totally wrong! Edge *NEVER* used a DD20 pedal as his main delay unit on the albums "October" to A"chtung Baby." Actually, he used the EH MM/DMM units in "Boy", "October" and "War" and from "Unforgettable Fire" to the present day, he's been using Korg A3, SDD3000 and TC2290 as his main delay units, especially the TC2290.

  • @racerid Correct! You should check out his old recording setup as well- they use multiple amps with different delays and mic the physical delay as well- some crazy stuff.

  • Actually, you are the one who's wrong.

  • @newline91- For early U2 stuff, get a Deluxe Memory Man or another brilliant delay pedal. But for Actung Baby and onwards, get a delay like a

Korg SDD-3000, TC2290 or if you need a pedal gor for a DD-20 or something!!!

    Matt.

  • if i wanted to do some u2 stuff, would this or the the red repeat be better?thanks

  • can this pedal do self-oscillation?

  • does it have balanced input?

  • This is really a great pedal, and priced just right, for me anyways. (broke)

You can get some great delay settings with this.

I put up a clip on my channel so people can check out how it sounds with a keyboard.

  • does it self oscillate?

  • jmmm.... I'm looking for a nice sounding delay for 100 bucks ,should I get this one?.....

  • I don't think you can do better for $100, but the lack of a tap delay is personally a huge turn off for me. I feel like a digital delay really requires one simply because the echos are much more pronounced. They need to be exact on the beat.

  • MXR Carbon copy my friendç111

    ittotally blows this one

  • this is great sounding pedal but mine is went dead after 3 months of use

  • Hi, is this pedal also hand-build as the rest of EH's other pedals?

  • hahah this is 2009 man... nothing's hand built anymore.

  • boutiquepedals are handbuilt asshole and those areee bettter!!

  • handbuilt doesn't have to be better, it's all about schematics and what you like;)

  • @AntonOortmann what do u mean by that, can u explain?

  • yes handbuilt by tiwanese children

  • i wuold be worried if it was handbuilt it could be built by any child in a sweat shop or a random junkie

  • you would think it would be in a factory

  • wooooo , sounds great

  • I'm a keyboardist. I work with synths and rhodes about equally, and I'm looking for something really dirty and analog sounding, with some oscillation & such. Unfortunately, EHX delay pedals don't really do that, so can you guys recommend anything?

  • This one doesn't but the EH Deluxe Mem Man will because it is analog. You might want to watch our analog delay comparison video too. There are some oscillation tests on it.

    PGS

  • If you want something on the cheap side (analog) check out the BBE Two Timer or the MXR Carbon Copy

  • @Chumleh try some death by audio pedals.

  • this is a great pedal, when i first got it i was a bit disappointed but once i found some good settings it sounded godly

  • Sounds like Until The End Of The World by U2. Kickass!!!

  • I'm still deciding if I get this one, the MXR carbon copy or boss dd7! But this one is really a great (and cheap) digital delay pedal.

  • what's better this or the MXR M-169 Carbon Copy?

  • Two totally different animals man. One is Digital the other analog. This pedal does what it states digital delay. What i love about this pedal is its very basic easy to dial in. I have both the mxr and #1 echo i love em both.

  • I'd highly suggest you try them out yourself and compare. There is no "better" with pedals per se. I'm of the philosophy that there is only "different". Every pedal has it's own unique voice. You just have to find the one that suits your taste and the sound you are looking for.

  • I think it depends on what you need. Overall the CC being analog and having the modulation gives makes it an overall better pedal. However if you want pristine tones and a nice basic delay this one should suffice. I'm using an EHX #1 Echo for longer ambient stuff or filling out my sound. Plan on getting something like a CC though to cover the darker tones.

  • Hi,

So you feel the Carbon Copy is a great pedal?

What about a reverb? Maybe a Holy Grail?

    Thanks for your input.

  • how does it hold up in an effects loop, after distortion? my delay is non existant in my loop, but great clean, so it's intriguing

  • Does this only take the adaptor or does it also work with fx. a Cioks Big John?

  • i want!!

  • would this be good for a rockabilly "slapback" effect ?

  • How would this fair for some Gilmour style delay? Would a Carbon Copy be better?

  • I think, the Carbon Copy is much better, expecially for any kind of vintage sound, which "some Gilmour style" would be ;)

But I'd prefer analog delays anyway, because I appeciate their natural tone!

The #1 Echo actually is quite analog sounding, but not as sweet as the Carbon Copy!

And I hate, that digital ones are not capable of self osscilation!

  • Lately there have been some Digital Delays that can oscillate like an analog delay. Check out our vids of the Carl Martin Echotone, Subdecay Echobox and Mad Prof Deep Blue Delay. Pretty convincing stuff!

    PGS

  • will this take batteries, or is it adaptor only?

  • Adapter only...

  • No it takes either a battery or adapter.

Also says in infomation for the video.

  • would this work with a bass guitar?

  • not sure. try looking for pedals specially made for bass guitars, i know they do make them, ive seen a few wah's and a zoom multi effect processor for bass'

  • You better make your face up in your favourite disguise.

  • With your button-down lips And your roller blind eyes...

  • and if you take your girlfriend out tonight

  • How would you set it if you wanted slapback?

  • turn both the decay time and feedback down

  • what´s the first song??

  • U2 - until the end of the world

  • Before I got my DD-5 I tried out one of these, it was easy to use and all but it just didn't stand out. It's a perfect no frills delay pedal, if you're looking for a simple delay pedal this is it.

  • Lovely. U2.until the end of the world

  • Nice :DDD How much is it???

BTW 7:30 is becoming a part of Cemetary Gates by pantera.

    Ty for upload this.. :D

    RIP Dime

  • can somoene explain to me waht´s the diference beetwen an acho and a delay pedal??

  • I use one and it is cheap, simple, flexible and musical. A superb first delay pedal.

  • ok pedal....I'm sure it's solid. EH stuff is pretty tough.

  • whoa! thats a great pedal!
