  • Its official! We 'the people' have ZERO control over our government.

Between the dumbest people allowed to breed on the the planet (republicans) and the biggest pussies to walk the earth (democrats) we come up with NOTHING that benefits the avg american!

The ONLY thing we have left is to just stop paying our taxes! SERIOUSLY, why should we! The vast majority of them go to corporations that the govt allows to rip us off anyway! The US is just a SCAM now!

  • whoever thought of the "trigger" idea was a moron...

yeah like that's gonna slide right in without anyone noticing!

  • I used to like Snow - but now she must go too - just one more Senator bought by the insurance lobby.

So much money coming over the table and so much under.

  • "The problem with the trigger is that it's a delay....... because the people that are going to determine if it's competitive want the public option." What? You mean that all of you elected officials aren't smart enough to set bars? What a bonehead.

  • i think the trigger is just a delay, tom delay. who is dancing with stars and gay like mario lopez now -- so that is bad.

Oh, i found another million dollar bill stuffed in my pocket by that nice man that lobbys for insurance companies.

its my lucky day! red must be my lucky color! i am nancy reagan in my own mind! happy dances and methanphedamines when i get home!

  • hahaha that was all over the place gisforglory but it was funny as hell

  • Well said Senator. The trigger is obviously nothing more than a backdoor for the public option. It's so obvious I don't know who they think they're fooling with it

  • Yeah. I hate options too! And I hate the public! Take that, public option!

  • The senator is under the payroll of Insurance & pharmaceutical companies.

Profitable for both the senator & Insurance companies to delay/obstruct health care reform.

    More Delay = More Profits

  • vote this bitch out.....she is the spokesperson for fraudulent insurance companies.

  • I tried, twice!

  • is there delay in Senator Collins accepting bribes from Insurance and pharmaceutical companies?

The Republican Senator has the OPTION to accept bribes on the expense of American tax-payer, but deny coverage to millions of uninsured Americans.

Republican solution to Healthcare Crisis = Delay and Obstruct Health Care Reform.

Public Health Insurance Option for all Americans NOW!

  • I wish I could give you more than 1 thumbs up. I agree with you 100%

  • bitch stfu

  • Americans are Brain Washed by media like this....

. They have no opinion of there own....

    . Americans have 3 ways of thinking - CNN - FOX - MSNBC ....

. Children are very predictable !

  • I don't want a public option... I want the whole damn thing!

    Single-Payer!

  • Wtf is her issue with a public option? God forbid the multi-billion dollar insurance industry has to make their insurance options affordable through true competition...

  • what a selfish twat.

  • ignorant bitch, fuck her and Olympia too!

  • Amazing how those in a bubble can write policy for those living in the real world. Who was at John Mccain's fake open forums. MEDICARE hypocrites. "Dont touch my Single Payer plan, but you cant have one".

  • All members of Congress who vote against the public option should have their single-payer health care revoked.

  • With mandates, but no Public Option and no Profit Caps, prices continue to escalate... while opening a vein on the necks of working Americans, and giving a massive cash windfall to the very vampires that created the crisis. Medicare and social services in this country will perish. Isn't THAT the real goal? Rockefeller's wet dream.

  • And this is a "moderate" Republican?

I guess that means she loves corporate America for secular reasons ($) not religious ones.

  • *THUMBS UP*

  • triggers & co-ops don't mean what they sound like. Ask for and demand that those terms be defined as what they mean in the bill. You will see that it is a kind of play on public understanding of those to common terms, but mean something totally different. tj

  • Exactly. Blue Cross/Blue Shield began as a co-op. It isn't any more effective than for-profit companies.

  • Translated: "No, I cannot support any initiative that might upset my corporate masters."

  • bingo.

  • Republicans - Keeping corporations in charge!

  • How do I unsubscribe from this shitty author? He just floods my home page with shit. Thanks!

  • What she really means "no me and my family are okay and I'm getting paid off by the health insurance companies why would i care what everybody else gets."

  • "the trigger is just a delay." Let's just assume, like everyone else, that the trigger is designed to be a last minute thing, i.e. if prices don't go down within x years, then bring in the public option to drive prices down because of more competition. Isn't she admitting that prices will continue to go up by saying that the trigger would only delay the price-drop-designed public option?

  • exactly!

  • Wingnut sign "No Pubic Option"

  • The "trigger" is designed to kick in if the cost of private insurance keeps going UP instead of down. She just said she doesn't want a trigger because it is guaranteed to be pulled. So, she essentially just admitted that she doesn't think any of the proposed reforms will cause the cost of insurance to drop WITHOUT the public option.

Thanks for telling us what we already know.

  • At least she isn't totally opposed to the legislation. You should be happy with incrementalism. It's the tried and true method.

  • now obama has to chose between the public option giving them all the finger and between co-opting her and snowe and count of their votes in this and other upcoming bills and claim bipartisanship. hmm i wonder what pragmatic obama will do. face it, the PO is dead. possibly when he's a lame duck in his second term, he can bring the PO up back for "debate"

  • That's amazing. She's not only opposed to providing a possible solution to the problem, but also to having the opportunity to potentially provide a solution to the problem at a later date. What sort of slogan should these people pick out for themselves? "No action! No thought of action! Nothing at all!"

  • For 30 years we've been fed the idea that we are all "upscale" while wages have been frozen.

How many times have we opposed ANY accommodation of the economic reality of our citizens?

The Stockholm syndrome is a psychological response sometimes seen in abducted hostages, in which the hostage shows signs of loyalty to the hostage-taker, regardless of the danger or risk in which they have been placed.

    Welcome to Stockholm, U.S.A!

    Please don't feed the animals.

  • i get sick and tired of hearing about all this.anyone that does not want the public option is anti american. this is something for the people yet the politicians won't do it because they are in the corporate pocket. they speak of costs all the time. it will cost too much they say yet they don't bat an eye when we pay trillions for war and spend and spend for the military.

it's really starting to make me sick....

  • GOP is the government speaker for the big companies & lobbyist. It's too bad they can sell their lies to the ill-informed. Then, like sheep, the ill-informed masses regurgitate the misinformation, fear & hate as if it were the god's honest truth.

  • Why don't people get it, its an OPTION ... so there can be more real competition and there for lowering prices and improving quality its fucking stupid how some people are manipulated by insurance to scare the hell out of normal gullible people

  • Why do these Republicans want bipartisanship now?

I say fuck them and pass the bill.

  • you can't pass a healthcare bill when 9 ore more Democrats in the senate are on record saying that they will vote agaisnt any bill that includes a public option. Republicans don't matter at this point, they won't vote in favor of any bill, the problem is those democrats playing politics.

  • we need to post the phone numbers of ever member that's a hold out on every board swamp them with calls.

  • We spend 16% of our GDP on Health Care. Other nations spend around 10%. 30% of our health care costs are going to Insurance companies. So we are paying a middle man 30% on average every year just to push paper.

Wake up. A public option is the only way to control prices and guarantee every one of us gets proper health care. It will not destroy competition. Look at Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid. Competition still exists, so history proves that point...

  • Very telling. She stated that she thinks the Trigger will just be a delay, explaining it her opinion she states that those who will have the decision making power want a public option and will say that the Trigger has been met no matter what. But what she really means, and what'll happen is that the Insurance companies will not be changing how they do business. So that the Trigger will be met. They'll keep on milking the business for all it's worth until we demand a public option.

  • So her answer is "we don't want competition in health insurance, now or ever." Or, if you prefer "Congress enjoys basically the same benefits as a public option would give the people, so I'm okay. The people? Screw 'em."

  • And that is a pass for a reasonably Republican in the GOP.

I for not understand what the F*&k we won election for, if Obama the wimp is going to govern with the Republican. The Democrats do not get my vote anymore.

  • Remember GOP= Greed Over People

  • oh ok, thanks. I almost forgot. I identify

  • She's a republican, why are they even asking them what they think? We already know. They just want the status quo and for republicans to be able so suck more corporate dick.

  • huh

  • wuh

  • If the trigger is just a delay, then is the senator saying she thinks that without the public option, there will be no competition?

    Hmmmm....

  • Fuck you, Senator Collins! Shill Bitch!

UHC CEO Stephen Hemsley has $745 MILLION in stock options. 2007 pay $13.2mil; 2008 $3.2 mil.

CIGNA CEO Edward Hanway made $120mil in last 5yrs. Stock options = $28mil.

    Humana CEO Michael McCallister's made $10.3mil in 07. 08:$1,017,308. Stock options = $60mil.

LARGEST GOLDEN PARACHUTE in history of corporate America goes to William McGuire of UnitedHealth 1.4 BILLION DOLLARS!

Now how many DENIED angiograms MRI's & dialysis treatments does that take?

  • There can't be a mandate without a real public option. If we can't get that done, just accept failure because there's no point.

  • get this woman out of office

  • typical stupid republican cunt

  • Are theses not the same people who said they wanted deregulation because it would cause more competition and who are now against the Public Option because of the competition it would created.

  • No public option, no change, no hopes.

That's the republican party of NO.

  • Enough of the misogyny on this thread, plz.

  • It's not misogyny, if anger and derogative terms are directed at a person because of their opinions, and not because of their sex.

    Screw the bitch.

  • "bitch" in the 21st century is a word that can apply to either sex. So quit your bitching.

btw, when is that last time you heard a woman called a dickhead? Or an asshole?

  • Single payer or scrap the whole thing. Screw insurance companies. Only the fool speaks in their defense.

  • HA! I don't remember democrats being asked what was"acceptable" when Bush was president. What a fucking JOKE!

  • There are 9 Democrats, maybe more, in the Senate on record saying that they're going to oppose any bill with a public option,. Our problem is not the republicans, our real problem is Democrats from conservative leaning states like Landrieu, Nelson, Conrad, and Bayh, among others. It's all about politics, all these guys are willing to kill this bill, and the country with it, just to get re-elected.

  • Oh I know, I just think it's funny that republicans get to have such an authoritative voice on this issue.

it's that same voice that pushes the blue dogs into their respective corners.

  • trash this bitch

  • Damn I don't like her voice either. Nothing about this woman is cool.

  • Yes, her voice and speech cadence has always made me suspect that she's really Bob Woodward in drag.

  • This women is stupid!! There is going to be criteria that needs to be met, and will be agreed by both parties. If that criteria is not met then the public option kicks in. Why does CNN bring on these idiots?

  • "[...]whether the market's competitive enough[...]"

    Live and let die, bitch!
