  • I really love the fact that the Tone King exists... he really seems passionate, he really seems to care... but FUCK that guy can't play, and he makes every review he does of any amp of dubious value, to say the least... I hate myself for saying something so deprecating, but MAN it's so ironic that he cares so much about guitars and guitar amps but just plays so poorly...

  • So sick of haters. Thanks for the review! You play and review because you love to do it. It's cool of you to put all the time n effort into getting these products on youtube.

  • Tone King, how would this amp do for thrash metal? Think Exodus - Bonded by Blood, Sodom - Agent Orange, Tankard - Beast of Bourbon, Sadus - Chemical Exposure, etc.

My other options are Peavey 6505+ and possibly XXX.

  • Creeeeepy finger at 1:23

  • Sounds pretty nifty! How loud does it get?

  • when are they going to release it already!

  • @mrkyt77 srsly!

  • Is the SLO circuit able to attain high/metal gain? Im not one of those turn the gain to 10 guys, because I prefer a bit of clarity in my notes! But I would hope it can get to the lower end of the high gain spectrum at least. Shame theres no stores who stock Jet city anywhere remotely close to me. Also can these amps get a growly (marshally?) overdrive thing going on? I love that.

  • where can i get this?

  • from what i hear, the amp is amazing...i just dont know when it actually comes out...

  • This looks real promising, but why no reverb

  • This thing will also have five 12AX7 tubes. FIVE!!! The JCA20H has three. Practically every other low watt lunchbox amp has 2.

  • ignore my last post just figured out that i can use the effects loop of pedals and a clean sound so ill wait for the jca22h

  • hey can anyone help me. he said on this amp that the first channel was the same crunch as the jca20h so if i was just gonna use this as a cheap tube amp with pedals should i stick to the jca20h or wait for this. just so you know my style of playing ranges from very clean to extremely heavy.

  • @GuitarmanSDW Good question. I was just wondering the same thing. Since the 'normal' channel really sounds like it has more than enough gain to me, and I don't use an effects loop, should I even be waiting on the JCA22H? It seems like it has so much gain, and I'm not sure I will be able to use it as a clean channel/dirty channel box the way I like to run an amp. However, that is SICK OD from a Strat. It will be tempting if the price point is low.

  • tone king are you going for the alex dumble look?

  • @15eman I was shooting for JLO ... but apparently that didn't come across quite well.

  • @lmsjr hahaha what do you think of the new bugera amps?? worth the cash?

  • @15eman

The V22 isn't nearly as nice as this. The JCA just has better tone

  • @lmsjr What a coincidence, i thought you nailed the JLO look...hmm...odd

  • @TrippyTheShroom if by jlo you mean john lovitz, then yes. he hit the nail on the head

  • does this come with a footswitch???

  • PATIENTLY WAITING ON THE JCA 22 H OR COMBO VERSION TO BE RELEASED! I AM IN LINE FOR ONE ! NO ONE SEEMS TO KNOW WHEN THEY ARE GOING TO BE RELEASED THOUGH!

  • @stevenowen82

    this summer i believe

i think doug himself posted it on harmony central

its available in combo's and heads and the starting price is $399 for the head :D :D :D

    SOLDANO OVER DRIVE

  • I'm really curious about these amps. i'm going to have to try one now.

  • Again, when is it out? I'm shopping for a new amp, hopefully I can wait for this.

  • @yourstupidgame Yeah, me too.

  • Doug, can't you have a real player demo this...please?

  • @krelbar Sorry, Steve Vai was tied up at the Carvin booth, so I filled in for him. Bro, gimme a break!

  • @lmsjr Not as much a dig on you as on Doug...I think amp builders should have pro players demonstrate their amps, making them sound their best. That's just advertising 101. The first sounds the internet community hears from this amp is this? Not very inspiring!

Unfortunately, with my getting this point across, you were in the line of fire. That said, I wouldn't let him have me demo the amp, either!

  • @krelbar I can see your point, but at the same time, great players make everything sound good. TTK's chops are probably representative of 99% of people who are watching his videos, trying to decide what gear to buy on limited budgets. So when you hear how TTK sounds playing through an amp or pedal, really it's giving the vast majority of players a good idea of how they themselves will sound playing through it, which is much more helpful, IMO.

  • @slashaholicanonymous

I can agree with that. But as a regular gigging musician thats been playing for 26 years, I want to hear that pro player.

How about amp companies do a review with both?

  • @krelbar I don't see a lot of "pro" players playing $400 Chinese amps. Generally Mesas, Marshalls, Fenders, or now, Axe-FX units. If you want to hear what a "pro" player sounds like through it, just go to a GC and try it. But bagging on TTK in a YouTube comment is pretty lame.

  • @polaris20 1) I didn't say I was a pro, as you imply.

2)Pros can make any amp sound good.

    3) TTK isn't that great of a player, and he has played through numerous upscale amps and made them sound like crap, too. Again, apologies to TTK, I'm just being honest.

  • @slashaholicanonymous Thank you slash ... I'd have to agree with you on your well thought out answer. Much appreciated. If only everyone got what you noted here!

  • @krelbar If you want to hear what an amp sounds like find a store that has it and go... dont get on youtube. While it is nice to see things on youtube you really should not buy anything without trying it yourself... unless your your ok with the risk of it sounding like Ass.....Not the place for complaints

  • @himester666 Nice suggestion, but no stores have them around here. Not even the two Guitar Centers.

  • this is the end of everything

  • when is this out?

  • Aww just the upgrades I was hoping for. Thanks TTK!!

  • Sounded decent, kinda hard to tell with hand held mic. One thing though, it was not obvious to me how channels were selceted or switched. Didn't see a button or anything. Are they footswitch selectable? TTK, please fill in these gaps on the operation of this head. Thanks and great job as usual!

  • through that microphone it sounds raspy, but i guess it's due to the positioning and compression... this is pretty much the perfect amp for me!

  • Oh and of course, nice video! ;) I Hope you make a full one of this amp soon.

  • Whoa, i was maybe going to get a JCA20H soon but now i think i want this one even more!

  • Can you make vid from the Frettedamericana/Kasha booth?

  • Are they gonna make a combo version?

P.S: I bought the JC combo on eBay for $250.

  • @AndySan Yes in another video Doug showed the combo.

  • Very nice!

  • MUST GET

  • Very cool, I love the JCA20H, glad I waited as this is what I was waiting for!

  • Seeing this amp makes me wish that I waited for this model to come out before getting my JCA20H.

  • If this model is going to be priced the same as a JCA20, then I'm gonna get one!

  • @sumopub

I think I heard it was going to be around 400 dollars.

  • Much better after you told him to put the mic near the cab. :-) Good gain, even with single coils.

  • nice to see, but need properly miked demo.

  • looks like his sound... beautyful (sorry for my english ja ja)

  • Comment removed

  • Meh.

  • Test out the BUGERA 1960 UPDATED AMP
