  • Facts: 1) night time temps are inc. faster than daytime temps. 2) winter temps are inc. faster than summer temps. 3) heating and expansion of troposphere and cooling of stratosphere measured. If you can explain these observations without the mechanism of IR radiation absorption of CO2 be my guest. The crisis is real and delay cannot be tolerated. If we reach 450 ppm threshold we are lost as permafrost will begin to out gas methane. Dust-bowlification->food insec.->riots and political instability.

    indulge me to ask:

    1. What was the biggest environmental issue in late 1990's?..Ozone holes We even passed legislation to limit CFC's etc. it was in the headlines daily..now it has been about 6 years since the last article / Major Report...yet..NASA reports that the holes have gotten 17% larger..but..no more news! WHY?

Y2K had 1 mill+ scientists working on a solution yet could not predict outcome until it happened.

  • When scientists receive government funding, they are required to tell the public what the government wants the public to hear, and nothing else. So their research has to be geared to validate the claims of the powers that be. To legitimatize propaganda, in other words. Otherwise, they lose the funding.

That is the condition for receiving government money.

  • @RuiVasconcelos1

I am sorry to inform you that you have been a victim of half truth, misrepresentations and hysteria.

CO2 is as necessary for life as O2 and it does not determine the climate.

Otherwise the effort is not bad. Now make one with real data.

  • If our CO2 output is well within the absorbtion limits of the biosphere then why is the atmospheric concentration on an exponential rise, one not accountable by previous global climate data trends?

  • @bdkwombarra

Just noticed you are Australian ~ i am sorry ~ cheers bye.

  • solar outputs vary periodically every 11 or so years between a high and a low point, while yes we are currently heading into a low point that doesnt change the fact that we are radically changing the chemical makeup of our atmosphere. I fail to see how you can call it 'CO2 BS' when its common knowledge (to those with any decent level of education) that our current CO2 outputs greatly outweigh the rate that plants and the like can photosynthesise it back into oxygen and carbon compounds.

  • @bdkwombarra

Outweigh the rate? says who? the Earth absorbed ( by photosynthesis ) many times more CO2 in the past so my statement "CO2 BS" stands ~ i suggest you do a little research on CO2 and stomata in past history ~ then relax and enjoy life without trying to organise everyone else's life for them.

  • I wish that like mrOTLChamp, i too could switch of my brain and ignore the warning signs. As they say ignorance is bliss. Australia is on the verge of bringing in a carbon tax that sadly i can see being overturned by the brainless, the selfish and those that just dont care about anything but making a quick dollar. Anybody got any plans for an Arc of some sort, i want in..

  • @bdkwombarra

And your thoughts on the news that we may be entering a period of very low solar activity?

Do you comprehend what that could mean? and the implications of the CO2 BS you have swallowed ?

You build your Arc ~ take all of your sheep with you.

  • CO2= POISON, PERIOD. Right? Breathe into a plastic bag, sooner or later YOU DIE! If we are putting MORE "POISON" into the air than the earth can get rid of, and NO ONE DISPUTES this, then that means you & I are breathing MORE poison= LESS oxygen. Right? PURE common sense. First, we get LESS & LESS oxygen, lowering our immune systems= more sicknesses=healthcare costs skyrocket, w/allergy & asthma epidemics, shortages of healthcare people, then add aging Baby Boomers. We need 38% O-2, now get 20%

  • 2011 is going to be the hottest year since we started keeping records in the 1800's. 2012 will be even hotter, unless we can implement carbon taxes on the fascist capitalist US which is responsible for global warming. China is in the vanguard of our green revolution to stop global warming, and begin the great global cooling cycle we have been working toward.

  • Joe

It's interesting that the Chinese communists used to think that environmentalism was a device of the capitalists to hold back the proletariat.

British Columbia has implemented a revenue neutral carbon tax. Revenues from the carbon tax are offset by reductions in payroll taxes. James Hansen suggests that the US should do the same thing. The tax system can be restructured to protect the environment without increasing the tax burden, at all.

  • As for ocean acidification, check out the InterAcademy Panel on International Issues Statement on Ocean Acidification. In addition to the academies of the largest emitters, China, India, and the USA; This statement was also endorsed by the academies of Israel, Iran, The Islamic World, and Palestine.

When people who can't seem to agree on the color of an orange are all telling me that this is a real problem, I sit up and take notice.

  • in the 80's the earth was getting cold because of us.

in the 90's the earth started getting warm because of us.

then it simply became climate change because of us.

what do humans exhale? carbon dioxide

what do plants breathe? carbon dioxide

so more carbon dioxide is bad for the environment how? because plant-life flourishes and produces more oxygen for life to breathe?

stop buying Al Gore's propaganda. this is purely to create a carbon tax, a tax on breathing

  • hedpetcd

CO2's role in photosynthesis is a canard:

    watch?v=uE6at2IEUOU

    watch?v=g093lhtpEFo

Increasing the concentration of CO2 ([CO2]) in the atmosphere increases the temperature of the atmosphere. This alters weather patterns.

Increasing oceanic [CO2] lowers the pH of the oceans.

These have occurred naturally in the past resulting in mass extinctions:

  • @MyCuipo I left my son in the car with the in the summer for two hours and he was just fine. This goes to show that the greenhouse effect is not as bad as the media would have you believe. If even the most vulnerable humans are immune to the "dangers" of the greenhouse effect, how can the green house effect wipe out thousands of species. People lived in Biodome2 which covered with glass and people Lived there. They didn't bake like potatoes.

  • @MyCuipo I like the use of the word "can" - as in "may" - it means nothing , its like saying if I throw a ball into the air it may come back down

thats not science - hey folks, the planet might warm, or it might not, we dont really know

in fact, lets be bold and reword it to

Greenhouse gases provide all life to our planet, it keeps us warm, but if the ppm increases by X%, then the planet will get so hot we all die

except no scientist can tell you what that % is

  • @MyCuipo

I Grow Weed and i use co2 to make faster grow and why would more co2 not be good our plants love it...

To tax co2 is like to tax rainwater falling on your private property.

Just another useless thing that make poor people in poor countrys poorer.

I always here what is bad about our technology and so on.. But have ever one questioned what is happen when we not have this technology? It would also not solve any other environment problems. Overfishing, Chemical waste and so on.

Was the link that you posted for the video: "The Religion of Global Warming" on the account of the TheBereanCall. Did you know that he/she requires that comments be approved. It gives the impression that he/she is a coward who lacks the intellectual fortitude needed for an honest discussion.

Anyway Lindzen is wrong. Religion has doctrine based on faith, tradition, and authority. Science has theory based on evidence and reason. The evidence of global warming is overwhelming.

  • @Rovinpiper If the evidence for global warming(caused by man) was so overwhelming, then why do so many prominent scientist quit organizations like NASA and the IPCC, telling everyone it's a fraud? Just to say we have global warming doesn't mean Jack! there is no doubt we have been cooling. To say otherwise is ignorants. We have been in a La Nina.

  • @MrOTLChamp what does La Niña have to do with global warming?

  • @JungleEd17 It has nothing to do with globull worming. It has to do with global cooling. This little tid-bit of information proves we're cooling and you warmist still can't see that we have been cooling. Are going to try and tell us how unusually warm it is where you are? LMAO Good Luck!

  • Champ

You've totally missed Ed's point. A La Nina cannot be considered disproof of greenhouse effect warming. La Nina can only mask the greenhouse effect, making it appear less severe than it really is.

As for cooling you can cherry pick cooling microtrends (watch?v=y15UGhhRd6M), but record-high 12-month running average was reached in 2010.

    Hansen, J., R. Ruedy, M. Sato, and K. Lo (2010) Global surface temperature change, Rev. Geophys, 48 RG4004, doi:10.1029/2010RG000345

  • Champ

"so many prominent scientist (sic) quit...the IPCC, telling everyone it's a fraud?"

You did not cite even one example of such a scientist. Very few scientists have done so.

  • @Rovinpiper - ...well the doctrine states that our God is a jealous God. There shall be no other Gods before him. A commandment. This is to mean, that ANYTHING that you would put your heart, mind, soul body into, is replacing him in your life. This principle is displayed all through biblical scripture, which science cannot explain.

People who are engulfed in this globall warming cause and follow it just as fervently as one would a faith, IT IS THEIR GOD.

I know you can understand that, right?

  • @iblackbeard I spend 8 hours a day working as a programmer. Should I be worried? Or isn’t there something about working on worldly stuff six days a week.

  • blackbeard

God created this world and gave it to us as a gift. He also gave us the intellect to understand this world and use its bounty responsibly. If we squander both of those gifts by ignoring the clear and present danger of global warming, then we will displease God.

Thus, a commitment to sound conservation practices, is an integral part of our duty to the Almighty, not a distraction from it.

  • kojacked

    You are wrong.

  • @kojacked76 - well it may be warming, but its just not caused by the "evil humans" like they want you to believe. If it is caused by the public, then they can pursue laws and FEES to make us pay for it and restrictrictions, which is what they want. They want CONTROL and MONEY. End of story.

  • @iblackbeard

Yar, Matey! Answer me query 'bout the five principles o' global warming, Or yer "Global warming is unprovable" argument will be forced to walk the plank!

  • blackbeard

Your predictions of economic catastrophe from emissions regulations are merely model predictions. You need to verify them against observed data. Such data is now available since the EU, British Columbia, and several states of the USA have implemented GHG emissions regulations. Your predictions are groundless.

Volcanoes emit about 1% of the CO2 emissions of humans.

  • Scientist can't tell me the Weather forcast for the next 3 days, and you expect me to believe that they fully understand the Earths weather patterns??

I say Bolony! Go HuG a TREE !

Pretty soon you can charge money for the air we breath.

I'll keep driving my big ass V8 truck and burn out on every stop sign ..haaaa..you all suck!

  • blackbeard

Climate is not weather. It is an average of weather over time. Thus, in some respects it is easier to predict than weather.

Similarly, if you tried to predict the ratio of results of single coin tosses, you would be correct about half of the time. However if you predicted the ratio of results of 1000 coin tosses you would most likely be much more accurate.

    It's about probability.

As for the reliability of weather forecasts I suggest you check out forecastadvisor(dot)com.

  • @Rovinpiper Great post comrade! Its getting hotter, and hotter due to the excessive hateful and wasteful release of CO2 of fascist USA which is responsible for global warming. 2011 is the hottest year already on record and 2012 will be even hotter unless carbon taxes are installed to curb the capitalists destruction of the earth. China is green and is leading the green revolution to save the planet

  • JoeJohn

    1) That's a strawman: watch?v=v5vzCmURh7o

    2) The USA is what, 5% of the population and is responsible for 25% of GHG emissions? We can't win the blame game against the Chinese.

    3) Yes, we will need to use diplomacy in order to control global warming, but that does not make it less necessary. That only increases the urgency since action will take longer.

    4) Ford and GE have come out in favor of GHG emissions regulations. Does that make them communists, too?

  • @Rovinpiper Strawman? Are you retarded? Dude, I'm a fellow communist just like you. Once we get carbon taxes implemented on fascist capitalist countries, Global Warming will stop.

  • @Rovinpiper - Oh i understand what you are talking about fully. As I mentioned, it is based mostly on "theories" that are mostly unprovable, but stated as fact. We have serious problems with jobs, our country spending us into brokesville giving away to other countries, social problems.....etc...etc...etc....

And then here come the "Greenies" and Al Gore, wanting to tell me how i NEED to shrink my carbon footprint.

Really? Does nobody else see how ludacris this issue has become?

  • blackbeard

There are five key principles of global warming. Which of these do you find unprovable:

    1) Combustion of fossil fuels releases CO2.

    2) This increases the concentration of CO2 in the atmosphere.

    3) The atmosphere therefore traps more heat because CO2 allows short wavelength light to pass through, but traps the longer wavelengths.

    4) The world is warming from the CO2.

    5) That is going to cause problems for us.

  • @Rovinpiper - haven't you looked around? People are hurting just to have the basics, this global issue is just icing on the cake (or nail in the coffin, rather). Do you have a battery powered car? Not only are they small, (tall people aren't comfortable) but expensive. Usually they have to be plugged in anyways, more load on electrical grid, so build more nuclear reactors. You just can't win. this is more about CONTROL than any science.GLOBALISTS JUST WANT CONTROL OF THE MASSES. Freedom stolen.

  • blackbeard

Not all electric vehicles are small. The Nissan Leaf is a mid-size car, as is the Chevy Volt.

This guy converted his Ford Ranger to an EV: watch?v=nw-JRwuPd5Y

Here is an electric Hummer: watch?v=G2psBtyqwgY

I hope that is big enough for you.

Your other criticisms of EVs are answered here: watch?v=pSdnycHfLnQ

If EVs are charged during off-peak hours they don't add to the demand on the power grid. Our power grid currently contains enormous inefficiencies.

  • iblackbeard

    Splash!

Moving on, our economic malaise and fiscal improvidence are not caused by our concern over global warming. Nor does the fact that we have other problems mean that global warming is not a problem, that is a red herring: watch?v=exdK7Lirngg . By your logic an unemployed person should not be concerned with faulty, fire-prone wiring in his/her house.

Our foreign aid budget is miniscule compared to our typical deficit, try to stick to relevant facts, please.

  • @Rovinpiper - speaking of relevant. Relevant is something this whole Global Warming subject isn't.

Keep drinking the koolaid of global warming. Quit trying to shove it down everyone's throats. Its already been exposed as false , so just give it up.

Worry about something more important like...when to clip your toenails.

  • blackbeard

Oops, the Volt's a compact. There's actually quite a few hybrid SUVs out right now, so I'm sure there's a fuel efficient vehicle out there that is large enough for your needs.

Your right, that EVs and hybrids are expensive right now. That is to be expected for any new product. Innovative manufacturers are trying to make healthy profits. We are all capitalists here, except for JoeJohn, and we shouldn't begrudge them there chance to make money.

    Prices will drop over time.

  • blackbeard

Global warming affects agriculture, and that affects everyone, so it is certainly relevant to our lives.

How has global warming been exposed as false. Certainly there are many people who claim that it has been, but why do you trust them so much?

My toenails are fine, my fingernails on the other hand...

  • @Rovinpiper You're right global warming affects agriculture. it has increased our cultivation of wheat, corn, vegetables, etc. It has absolutely no negative affect.

How has it been exposed as false? LMAO Try googling hacked e-mails HadlyCRU or Satellitegate, or IPCC fraud, and the list goes on. If you can't see the collaboration and collusion, lie's and deceit, then you must have your head in the sand. NOAA had to scrap all their temps recorded from their satellites for the last ten years.

  • Champ,

    CO2 boosts agriculture: watch?v=vFGU6qvkmTI

You're definitely wrong about corn. It is a C4 plant. C4 plants will not show any increase in productivity with increased CO2.

CO2 fertilization increases yields of C3 plants, but it also increases growth of weeds, and it has interesting effects on insect herbivores, too.

Also, changes in amount, timing, and form of precipitation can have and are having negative effects on agriculture.

  • @Rovinpiper ....cont. The computers apparently didn’t tell their programmers that U.S. corn yields have actually risen by more than 60% since 1980 Wheat yields rose 14%, aided by higher levels of CO2, which act like fertilizer for plants."

  • Champ

When I say that corn won't respond to CO2 fertilization I'm basing that on biochemistry, not computer models. You need to understand the difference between C3 and C4 carbon fixation.

Yields respond to many things, agricultural policy, mechanization, genetic crop improvement, energy policy (ethanol), and market forces. It is biochemically impossible for any increase in [CO2] beyond 300 ppm to increase the yield of a C4 plant.

  • Champ

The "climategate" scandal consists of a few phrases from 13 years of email taken out of context. Six separate investigations have been conducted, and all have found that there was no fraud. • Champ

The oceans are not rising and if you still believe the oceans are becoming acidic, then you should try and find some credible way of determining the Ph hundreds of years ago.

"Satellitegate" is about problems with the Great Lakes CoastWatch datasets. These are not part of ANY global temperature data set. So, NOAA's temperature data was not invalidated by these problems.

Furthermore, both satellite datasets give a lower estimate of global warming than datasets based on thermometers, so the invalidation of satellite data would not damage your case, not support it.

  • Champ

Sea-level rise is another effect of global warming that will hurt agriculture. Permanent inundation isn't really the problem. Storm surges and salt-water intrusion will ruin the land before that happens. This will be very important in river deltas, such as the Nile, which produces 60% of Egypt's food.

Ocean acidification, another problem from CO2 emissions, will damage fisheries further decreasing our food supply. watch?v=5cqCvcX7buo

  • @Rovinpiper Sea level rise has been varying between 10cm and 20cm for years. So has that 8 inches been a problem? If it has, then someone lives too close to it, and they should move. There is no eminent danger from the ocean. The oceans will never become acidic while humans are on earth. Cont....

  • @Rovinpiper ....cont. The pH of the oceans is 8.1, which is alkaline, and there has been no measured acidification.

Scientists have no method available to survey ocean acidity, as Argo does for temperature, yet they recently claimed oceans are becoming more acidic. They measured acidity in a few estuaries to come up with that fraud.

  • @Rovinpiper Two billion years ago, there was a huge amount of carbon dioxide in the air and carbonate in the oceans. Since then, most of it disappeared. It was converted to calcium carbonate in the oceans and ultimately limestone. Now there is a shortage. The human addition is slightly rescuing life and the planet by increasing the CO2. For propagandists to claim humans are destroying life and the planet through CO2 couldn't be a bigger fraud.

  • The oceans have had almost four billion years to absorb carbon dioxide. Why are the oceans not acidic? Hasn't there been enough time yet? There was five times as much CO2 in the air during dinosaur years as now. The oceans rapidly stabilize; and they stabilized at pH 8.1 due to the alkalinity of calcium and its buffering capacity.

  • Champ

"The oceans have had almost [4B yrs] to absorb carbon dioxide. Why are the oceans not acidic?"

The absorption of CO2 by the ocean is governed by diffusion. CO2 is simply going from an area of low concentration to an area of high concentration until equilibrium is achieved. So the oceans and atmosphere achieve a rough balance of CO2 concentration. However, industry has created a large continuous influx of CO2 into the atmosphere disrupting that balance.

    cont...

  • ...cont

That causes a net movement of CO2 into the oceans.

Note: I have ignored boundary layer effects, differences in solubility, thermal stratification, etc. for clarity in this explanation.

  • Fraudulent scientists use hydrochloric acid in laboratory tanks to test the effects of carbon dioxide on ocean biology due to increased acidity. CO2 is in equilibrium with carbonate, which improves marine growth and shell production, while HCl destroys the ability to metabolize carbonate.

  • @Rovinpiper Oceans have been rising an average of 4 ft per century over the past 10,000 years. Now they are rising about 1 ft per century.

Oceans rose 2 mm per year during the first half of the 20th century, and only 1.5 mm per year during the second half. Humans are not the cause.

Over the past three years, oceans have totally stopped rising, as determined by satellite measurements and published by University of Colorado

  • Champ

If you are going to present something word for word as an argument, it might be wise to take a closer look at it first. That is no longer "Over the past three years..." It was from 2006 to mid 2008. You could find a similar time of no trend if you looked from 1998 to mid 2000. You are cherry picking again.

Pointing out recent short-term declines in any global warming metric and claiming the GW ended, is a common denier tactic, but it is not a good strategy for securing our future.

  • @Rovinpiper Whats cherry picking about "the oceans have not risen at all in three years"

All while you warmist still claim we are warming and oceans rising blah, blah, blah. It's all BS. The Co2 is still rising and temps are not following. You have to cherry pick to see it any other way.

  • Champ

You have used a small part of a dataset to present a trend that contradicts the trend shown by the entire dataset. That is the dictionary definition of cherry picking.

Temps are rising. Perhaps you missed where I pointed out that 2000 to 2009 was the hottest decade on record? So actually I just have to look at the entire instrumental record to see it my way, no cherry picking is required.

  • @MrOTLChamp

"The Co2 is still rising and temps are not following."

    only on fox news...

oceans ARE rising (thermal expansion) - sea ice + glaciers ARE melting, heat records, flood records, drought records, and weather changes all around the planet.

there is NO single even halfway reliable scientific body on the whole planet that would disagree with me.. How sick you denier guys are is unbelievable.. shame.

    shut the fuck up

  • @aerobique The oceans are not rising. The temps are not rising either. We are in a La Nina, and the whole world has cooled over the last few years. Hundreds of glaciers are growing as well as some melting, however, over all, everything is staying pretty much the same. Why is it you warmist or American haters seem to ignore all the fraud by these pro AGW scientist. The science behind AGW is shady at best. One wrong report after another. Can You say "AGENDA?"

Why don't you come up with a global data set that disproves the recession of glaciers?

Global warming does not have to be even across the globe. Any area may experience short term cooling trends. Some areas may even experience long-term cooling trends. The planet as a whole, however, is warming.

Also, bear in mind that a local increase in precipitation may increase glacial mass even during an increase in mean annual temperature.

  • judomagyar

Why are you so convinced that Roy Spencer is right?

  • @Rovinpiper I looked at Roy Spencer's work and I can follow what he is saying and I looked at the data-set myself and I agree with him (and with thousands of scientists).

  • judomagyar

Why do you say thousands of scientists? Are you drawing that from (a) list(s)? Which one(s)?

  • @Rovinpiper Although there is such list with scientist that do not think humans are causing climate change, it is not important. You can look at some of them even on youtube, if you prefer.

Christy, Plimer, Lindzen, Shaviv, Corbyn, Svensmark, Miskolczi, etc...

  • judomagyar

You'll be hard pressed to come up with thousands of expert climate skeptics. Most lists contain very few real climate experts.

As for Lindzen and his colleague at UAH, John Christy, I've known both to resort to blatant lies to make their points.

For instance both have repeated the tired lie that global warming is an artifact of the urban heat island effect. This lie is easily debunked here: watch?v=B7OdCOsMgCw

If there evidence is so strong why do they have to lie?

  • @Rovinpiper "If there evidence is so strong why do they have to lie? " another strawman, huh?

They do not have to lie.

Whe the urban heat island is brought up it is mentioned because it is the wrong way to get meaningful data.

looking at the satellite measurements is the best way, and that data does not show a forcing by CO2 concentration. CO2's effect is insignificant.

  • judomagyar

Familiarize yourself with what a strawman is before you accuse me of using one: watch?v=v5vzCmURh7o

"They do not have to lie." Yet, they do, repeatedly.

Thermometers on the surface of the Earth are a perfectly valid way of getting surface temperatures.

The same warming is observed by weather balloons, sattelites, ships, buoys, and weather stations.

How are you parsing out the effect of CO2 from sattelite temperature measurements?

  • @Rovinpiper YUpp! Here is the straw man I was talking about: "For instance both have repeated the tired lie that global warming is an artifact of the urban heat island effect"

Well, this is not what they are saying. You only wish, this is what they did say...

It is a little more complex.

  • judomagyar

"...much of the surface temperature warming is related to surface development around the thermometer sites." John Christy, 3/8/11

Yet, the same warming trend is visible using only stations in remote undeveloped areas. Also, notice that on NASA's map of temperature anomalies, the magnitude of temperature anomalies does not depend on the degree of development of the local area.

    A) He said (among other thins):"much of the surface temperature warming is related to surface development around the thermometer sites"

    B) You say:"global warming is an artifact of the urban heat island effect"

    A) and B) are not quite the same are they?

    Classic Straw Man

    1,Person A has position X.

    2.Person B presents position Y (which is a distorted version of X).

    3.Person B attacks position Y.

    4.Therefore X is false/incorrect/flawed.

  • judomagyar

My last post refuted the argument that he presented in that exact quote.

  • @Rovinpiper

I THINK, WE SHOULD WAIT ANOTHER 10-15 YEARS AND THEN EVEN YOU WILL SEE WHAT IS HAPPENING.

  • judomagyar

We have over 100 years of research into this topic. About 97% of climatologists agree with IPCC AR4. The only professional scientific organization I can find that demurs from this is the American Association of Petroleum Geologists. GM, BP, GE, Shell and many other major corporations agree that regulation of carbon emissions is needed.

What do you want to wait for? We have a strong case for action right now. We can repeal laws later if we need to, but if we pass a tipping point..

  • @Rovinpiper

    1) We have only a few decades of satellite data.

    2) The idea of the tipping point has been disproved many ways.

    3) There is no hurry, I never buy from someone who wants me to hurry into a deal.

    4) No amount of carbon regulation will make a noticeable difference in what the climate is going to do..

    5) IPCC is a political organization.

    6) If we had spent as much on finding natural causes of climate change we would be wetter off.

  • judomagyar

    1) We have over 100 years of worldwide thermometer temperature data, and over 400,000 years of ice core and tree ring data. Other proxies can take us back much further.

    2) How has the idea of the tipping point been disproved?

    3) Shellfish growers are being hurt by ocean acidification now. Sea-level rise is affecting coastal communities, like Norfolk, VA now. This is urgent.

    4) Says who?

    5) 97% of climatologists agree with the IPCC.

    6) Natural climate variation is well-studied.

  • @Rovinpiper

    1) the 400000 year Vostok Ice core data shows that temperature went up first, and CO2 concentration followed ~800 years later.

    2) How was the idea of tipping point proven? Models?

    3) Shellfish growers? Man made Shellfish?; Being less basic PH does not mean acidic PH.

4)Says anyone who does the numbers. And the Sun and the Galactic Cosmic radiation.

    3) You dispute the existence of shellfish farming? You really are a denier!

  • judomagyar

    4) The numbers say that carbon regulations will not result in a REDUCTION in the Earth's temperature for a millenia. That is true, but irrelevant. We aren't trying to cool the planet. We want to end our interference and allow the climate to stabilize (in so far as it is ever stable.) Also there is no trend in solar or galactic cosmic radiation that explains the current warming trend.

    5) Doran and Zimmerman (2009) Examining the Scientific Consensus on Climate Change. EOS Vol 90:3

  • Rovinpiper

    5) Science results in consensus. Modern science is a discussion between a large group of well-informed people with copious reference to a vast amount of evidence. Over time we can reasonably expect the consensus view of such a group to be closer to the absolute truth than ideas espoused by a tiny fraction of the group.

    6) Look at the page about models. These modelers would not have this tremendous success if they did not take natural climate influences into account.

  • I'm afraid you are completely ignorant. Natural climate change has been recorded and proven to be partially responsible for our current situation, but how dare you say we haven't and can't make a difference? It's people with the naive mindset like yours that will drive this planet straight into the next ice age. You better check your sources. Just because you read on a website that the IPCC is corrupt or that there are no anthropogenic causes of climate change doesn't mean it's credible.
