in the beginning, it was halo CE on pc....then halo 2....then some wannabe doom looking game came out in november 2006....i abandoned halo for gears of war, and when the halo 3 beta came out, i still played gears. gears 1 multiplayer/dark and destroyed atmosphere and gameplay was flawless, i sure hope gears 3 will deliver like the first.

My problem is that I own both of these games, and I also own an Impreza WRX. Now on Tuesday nights, I have a choice; play these games online, or go to an Impreza owners club meeting.
The trouble for these games are that I meet far less dickheads at the impreza meeting than I do online playing either Gears or Halo. The latter is practically like a night out at Rampton
For that reason, both games beyond the campaign levels are utter bags of maggot infested shit.
Gears 1 and 2 have great stories, and horde is great. But it has the worst of multiplayer ever made. Literally everything that could possibly be wrong with a game's multiplayer is wrong in Gears 1 and 2. I could write a book on why that mp sucks.

gears of war 1 and 2 are for more aggressive, higher skilled overall better gamers while halo 3 is for more of the oposite types of gamers who want an easier game to play on
I dont think these games should be compared, Halo 3 is a fun shoot shit and blow things up game, but gears of war is more tactical. I love how the health system in gears is, in MW2, which is amazing, but u have very little health, which is realistic obviously, but i think the fun part about gears is the 4 on 4, and the fact that you and another guy can sit there and fight eachother up close and still last awhile, making it a battle of skill usually, and not as much who sees who first.
gears is better, cause it actually takes skill and tactical movement to become one of the better gears players, not just the 3 shots and ur dead gameplay like in halo and call of duty, and plus the maps are smaller so the action is constant and u dont have to run like half a mile to find someone.

@Sharkattack48 actually gears takes a lot more skill than halo. Halo pretty much seems the same to me, every game mode. Gears always kept my attention. Gears weapons don't need to be balanced because picking up the super weapons in the first place is near impossible because you're gonna get downed instantly. Hammerburst and lancer are pretty evenly matched also. Also executing people online is so badass.

Beast mode is better than any mode halo will have.

Gears 1 and 2 have great stories, and horde is great. But it has the worst of multiplayer ever made. Literally everything that could possibly be wrong with a game's multiplayer is wrong in Gears 1 and 2. I could write a book on why that mp sucks.

gears of war 1 and 2 are for more aggressive, higher skilled overall better gamers while halo 3 is for more of the oposite types of gamers who want an easier game to play on

I dont think these games should be compared, Halo 3 is a fun shoot shit and blow things up game, but gears of war is more tactical. I love how the health system in gears is, in MW2, which is amazing, but u have very little health, which is realistic obviously, but i think the fun part about gears is the 4 on 4, and the fact that you and another guy can sit there and fight eachother up close and still last awhile, making it a battle of skill usually, and not as much who sees who first.

gears is better, cause it actually takes skill and tactical movement to become one of the better gears players, not just the 3 shots and ur dead gameplay like in halo and call of duty, and plus the maps are smaller so the action is constant and u dont have to run like half a mile to find someone.

But then again this whole halo is better, call of duty is better discussion is just opinions and is almost exactly if not as heated as the console wars. The whole thing is just silly really.

@Sharkattack48 actually gears takes a lot more skill than halo. Halo pretty much seems the same to me, every game mode. Gears always kept my attention. Gears weapons don't need to be balanced because picking up the super weapons in the first place is near impossible because you're gonna get downed instantly. Hammerburst and lancer are pretty evenly matched also. Also executing people online is so badass.

@Sharkattack48 i have to disagree with ya there, gears multiplayer is so much more fun and interesting, not just shooting with weak laser guns but guns that blow ur head clean off, torque bow, chainsaw all kickass weapons....firefight is a horde rip off and nowhere near as fun. Beast mode is better than any mode halo will have.
