No, no. Press the (2) button on flat ground while running. It DOESN'T have to be flat ground, but it's easier to do it that way.

That's a triple jump. If press the (A) button and you're on a flat plain, you can do a triple jump. If you're not on a flat plain, you can still do the triple jump, it's just more hard.
