I love the man in the crowds reaction at 1:50 when Tim hits the low note. He's on the first row. Just watch him. He seems so excited and goes crazy on the low note. While his wife (I assume) sits beside him blatantly unaroused... I'm afraid I'll end up like that one day. Lol. There just aren't that many girls my age (17) left that love Southern Gospel. So I feel your pain my friend, you go right on freaking out about Tim's low notes... I'll nod my head in approval :)
I love the reaction of the guy in the light colored suit in the background at 1:52. He's right in front of Tim in the picture and you can see him waiting for Tim to nail that note and when he does the guy just cheers him on. Love it.
Could listen to Tim all day long! Bought my first Gold City cassett back in '83! been listening ever since! I love the guy at 1:48 right behind Tim pumping his fist when Tim hits the low notes! ha ha
Tim Riley is , for sure, the finest bass singer I've ever heard. I have personally known J.D. Summer, London Paris, and seen all of the great ones from the past.
George Younce, etc.
Tim is more solid on the bottom than any of them! I've just seen them a few weeks ago since Tim has returned. He's better than ever! Great tone on
low notes!
Daniel has assembled a group with good singing chemistry. Bruce and
Josh are terrific! Roy is just the man for live piano!
I couldn't keep up the hectic pace these musicians keep. Tim said it's constant travel & hard work learning new material & recording, etc. Even if I was that dedicated I'd have to be off about 2 months vacation per yr. So, it's not for me.
@papa04john I count twice. They did God's Building a Church and I'm Not Giving Up. Two out of HOW MANY videos?? Kind of inexcusable for the nation's top quartet. You may see them in the background of others, but that does not equal featured. Especially since multiple videos are shot in same locations in the early days.
by not using hymn books, lots of kids/teenagers that could sing parts, never learn them.....how are you going to learn to sing bass if your church only sings these repetitive praise songs....
@biffster0 By listening to the bass part like with any other kind of music. "Those evil repetitive praise songs." Read your Bible and you'll see that the angels around the throne of God sing a pretty repetitive praise song to God. Why can't folks just accept good music in others styles? I was raised on SG, still love it, lead contemporary praise & worship at my church and sing classical and opera. Regardless of the style, there's a bass part to be found.
I heard this song and just fell in love with it................The words are so inspiring and deep. God truly is praised around the world. Be it through various genres of music. Praise be to God
I feel like most of America has missed out on Tim Riley.. never was featured on those Gaither videos ad nausem and neither was Gold City. never understood that.
actually Gold City have been featured on quite a few Gaither videos, and though Tim has never had a solo (unfortunately) he has been featured as a part of the bass section.

whats wrong with butch he is one of the best bass singers in the business u can ask anyone in the business and is one of the lowest and has great tone
I have never heard a better bass than Tim Riley. I like George Younce, JD Sumner, et. al., as well as the next guy, but Tim has such *incredible* tone, and never strains.
To him, a G or an Ab that shakes the foundations is what the song *needs*. He never pushes more than what the song needs, and it always sounds so great in context with the other singers.
tim is one of the best bass singers in gospel music great control and great tone!!!!! and daniel if u was to read this i sure hope yall hire butch owens as yall new bass singer i think he would make a great fit for your group!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh yeah, C'mon now!
