  • I had this beer the other day, i only live 20 mins from buxton, so can get it easily. It was nice, but it was a long way from what I would say was the best ale I have tasted this year. Whilst I would drink it again, it's not something I would cry about if I couldn't get hold of it

  • @joeboystoke Mind you taste is so subjective, what kind of styles do you enjoy, I thought this was great and living in Wales so hard to get hold of without paying for a delivery, cheers

  • @realaleguide I like a wide mix of things from hoppy ales like bishops finger to porters like thwaites tavern porter, and a whole lot inbetween. Lat night I was drinking a vanilla chocolate stout from titanic, thats the brewery near me, they make a very good stout!

  • @joeboystoke Sounds good, I like their Iceberg, I will have to check out their other brews, cheers

  • lol, you sound pretty sloshed by the end of this video. lol

  • @ChadzBeerReviews I reviewed the Fullers first, it really started to hit me towards the end of the review. Hey Chad we have a supermarket chain here called Waitrose, just picked up Sierra Nevada Torpedo there, drank 2 bottles last night ( oh my head ) LOL

  • I actually bought you a half of this at The Grove in Hudderfield but to be honest it wasn't on form that night and was a bit flat and lifeless.

I love Black Rocks and Black IPA in general.

I'll be uploading my Kernel Double Black IPA next week, it had a similar effect on me as this did on you. I just couldn't stop smiling after I tasted it.

The crows got a right old stoning during this review!

  • @HopZine Geez cant remember, must have been leathered by the time you bought me the Black Rocks. Loved the beer, looking forward to the Kernal review you put up, cheers Rob.

  • It's great to see you blown away by this! I've ordered some........must do a review!

  • @StravaleBeer where did you order it from? cheers mate

  • @wank0r I didn'r order it in the end from Beerritz as they wanted £27 for delivery to Inverness (Scottish Highlands) which is crazy and by far the most expensive I've come across

  • @StravaleBeer Hope you find it in Scotland in the future, im sure they will turn up in beer stores everywhere soon, cheers

  • Stone the rudy crows lol.

  • @GrahamUK33 Hehehe :-) Loved this beer

  • Youre comment about why people would choose wine over beer I think its because beer isnt looked at as much of a refined or cultured drink as some people think wine is. the exception of course is people who know about beer and dont drink the swill that is mass produced by the big name brewing companies

  • @thesaint6169 Yes very true, I totally agree with you on this, I just hope the boom in beer carries on, and becomes as huge as wine, beer really does deserve its place as an amazing drink in my eyes, cheers

  • @realaleguide I don't know how it is in the UK or the rest of Europe but it seems like in America there's two beer worlds, the commercial beer world with Coors, Miller and Budweiser and then the craft beer world. I love watching your reviews by the way and you happen to be one of the influences on me to start posting my own beer reviews. keep it up and cheers

  • @thesaint6169 Yeah awesome glad you have started reviewing, im going to check out your channel now, to see what new reviews you have posted, yeah here too, we have Carling which is owned by Coors which dominates along with Heineken etc, cheers

  • @CPL593H72 Oh wow that's amazing, the wonders of technology eh :-) Google TV is coming out in the UK next month with the Android market for app etc, Youtube is on that too, I might invest in one and cut the Virgin TV out, that's really expensive. It might be my new Year resolution to open a pub or something of that nature. And yes I might give Thornbridge a ring tomorrow regarding a brewery tour along with the Guys at Buxton, cheers

  • @CPL593H72 your knowledge on local beer is brilliant mate, really enjoy replying to your comments. I am going to have to try and find a pub in Wales where I can get it on Cask, either that or open a bottled beer shop or pub myself and just sell awesome beer, im sure being the only one in South Wales I could pull it off?? Cheers

  • Stone the Crows !!!! Haha, nice. Love Black IPAs

  • @Tianjoja Brilliant beer this, loved it thanks for watching, cheers

  • So did you like it then Simon? I wasn't too sure. I've just checked Zaks page and they have all three of their range so I hope to grab them on my next online order. I do love a black IPA ever since having the Windsor & Eaton Conqueror. Great review and it's brilliant to see genuine passion for the beer. Nice one Simon!

  • @mrgrimviking Wicked beer this, make sure to mention me to Zak when you place the order. Also I mentioned the idea of a Black IPA in an email today to you know who, just waiting on a reply :-)

  • You seem to really like these Buxton Beers Simon. I hope we get to try them down in London soon! Hoping they get their online shop up and running soon so that they can capitalise on this recent exposure.

Have you ever had Thornbridge Raven before? Would be interested to see how you compare this to Raven.

  • @magoolio Really really like them, they are so flavoursome, I hope they get their online system up soon, I think they would double their sales. No not tried Thornbridge Raven, will check it out. Is it a Black IPA then, cheers
