My grandma just passed on Monday evening, due to complications from lung cancer. Willie Nelson was her favorite artist, and this song was her favorite song. Im glad I got to take her to a Willie concert, she had so much fun. I will miss you so much granny. =(

In 1983 we buried our 14 year old son (Oldest son) from a drowning incident. In 1996 My youngest son (16 years old) was murdered. By 1999, we still had not put a head stone on their graves. While sitting in a motel room with a heavy heart, trying to think of what I should put on the boys headstone, Willie came on TV singing this song. With pictures of the boys and the saying, "Angles flying to close to the ground" the headstones turned out beautiful and fitting.

In 1983 we buried our 14 year old son (Oldest son) from a drowning incident. In 1996 My youngest son (16 years old) was murdered. By 1999, we still had not put a head stone on their graves. While sitting in a motel room with a heavy heart, trying to think of what I should put on the boys headstone, Willie came on TV singing this song. With pictures of the boys and the saying, "Angles flying to close to the ground" the headstones turned out beautiful and fitting.

@jewelee49 WOW. Hopefully the angel willy speaks of shows itself in these trying times for you. I've dealt with the mother in-law passing recently and that was bad enough i cant imagine my children. Dest wishes and another heart warmer is of course ray lamontagne. cash, waylon, and more. music is the second quickest way to someones heart the first is well.... food.

I actually found a angel flying to close to the ground,I patched up her broken wing,kept her spirit up and her fever down,she is still with me and if she did ever decide to fly away I guess I would crash and burn.

This song by Willie Nelson is very painfull to anyone that hears it. There are several important messages that come from it. I am not to judge what they mean to you, but I say this: We ALL are angels to someone else. We ALL fly too close to the ground. That is an intergral part of life and death. @louiseavril :) This was also the music on which the whole Clay/Sarah explanation and flash backs were covered. But it didn't appeal to me as much then as on the Brooke/Julian scenes!! :)
