This song is awesome! One of my favorite 80's tunes! If you listen to those great lyricas carefully you might just learn something and not rush through life! ROCK ON KATRINA!
I'm surprised this song made the Top 20 considering that you never hear this song yet you hear "Walking On Sunshine" which went #9 on the Billboard Top 100 in 1985
Katrina and the Waves are one of the most underappreciated groups of the 80s and 90s. Everybody knows "Walking On Sunshine," but many of their other things are better, including this tune, "Break Of Hearts" was a strong album in an era of strong albums. Too bad they don't get along anymore. A reunion album would be sick.
This song got no airplay in Cincinnati where the radio climate was oppressively conservative at that time. I only got to hear this song a few times on a small station out of Lexington that only came in when atmospheric conditions were favorable. Lexington had another Top 40 station that was much more powerful and could easily be received in Northern Kentucky, but I don't recall them playing the song. I don't think the song was played in Louisville either.
@Warren111able And what sort of expert video production expert are you? You say you have seen rubbish - I can say the same for your comment! Get off your lazy ass and stop posting YouTube comments from the comfort of your bed while you eat those cheesies and get out and make something we can critique you for - and weight loss and abject laziness don't count, you oxygen thief!!!
The last time I saw this band was when they did this song (I think) live on Carson's Tonight Show. I had forgotten all about the group as this was several years after Sunshine had been a hit. I don't know what was up with the four of them that night on the Carson show but they each looked really ticked off about something before kicking into the song.
absolutely mate never got the recognition they were due i reckon , katrina made a great d.j. too . it's a shame she'll be rememebered more for eorovision than fronting a great band and she played a mean telecaster too. one of the great female rockers
I loved this song, especially when it came out in the Summer of 1989, but I never hear this song on the radio anywhere anymore, but I agree that this hit was better than the "Walking On Sunshine" song that came out in the Summer of 1985.
Oh yeaahhhhhhh....any song of Katrina and the waves is one hundred per cent better than the extremely well-known "I'm walking on sunshine, ohohoh....."
i was their roadie in the early 80's, up to about 86 after "walking on sunshine" i have known vince for nearly 40 years and knew katrina for nearly the same ammount of time, they were my neighbours for a while in norfolk uk, anyway, saw Kim,Vince and Al about 2 months ago in cambridge, that was good to catch up

An excellent band in every respect. Great melodies, vocals and great musicians. This should have been a big hit in Britain but it had stopped recognising talent by then. Britain used to have talent, to borrow a phrase, back in the eighties and earlier. An irresistable tune written by a band who had obviously listened to great music and learned something from it, unlike the rubbish churned out today. Sad but true, the eighties was the golden era of pop, as proven by its durability.
you know, I really like Pink, Beyonce, and Celine. But I gotta agree none of them ever put out a performance like Katrina did in this song and this video. Best video, and best rock n roll voice, ever !
I honestly think this is my all-time favorite video- damn, when it starts rainin it just is about the sexiest thing ever put on film. I just love it how the rain water flies off the drums as they are being struck. Thank you soooooo much for posting this.
Thanks a million for posting this...I had a cassette tape of this album destroyed years ago and this was one of my favorites because her voice is rough and raw! Thanks again!
@Gary4Gary4 I agree with you. I can't understand some of today's music. Alot of it sounds the same to me. No orginality. They take a piece from another good song and mix it with something.
@selene2317 one guy takes Day-o, a country girl makes mince meat out of Motley Crue's Home Sweet Home, another girl uses Time of the season and a guy who uses autotune desecrates Stand By Me OH yeah and Black Eyed Peas DESTROY a great song, The Time of My Life!!!! GAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!! make it stop!!! pretty soon one of these pop IDIOTS nowadays are gonna re use Danger Zone! NNNNNOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Me encanta, hacía siglos que no la oía. La mejor canción que tiene este grupo después de "Walking on sunshine". Canciones como ésta hacen grande la historia de la música de los 80...
I still would love this video on dvd if someone could make me a copy or I could purchase one ...anyone out there can help me ????

I was K & W Tour Manager for a couple of years, including the Break of Hearts tour when this great song was charting.
We also opened for Squeeze across the US in '89 plus many UK/Euro dates and festivals.
I enjoyed K & W more than most clients. They are seriously underrated musicians and great genuine people.
Seeing this vid brings back some good memories of band and crew in those days.
Funny thing hindsight - today is your history and today is all we have.
