Unfortunately, I asked Sam if this will make it to the game and he said it won't because it doesn't fit to any particular scene within the game. I'm sure the other songs will make up for it, though.
Have you listened to Mansell's soundtracks? He wrote all of the music for Requiem For A Dream. If you haven't heard Lux Aeterna, you have no right to suggest Mansell is inferior to Wall and/or Hulick. I can't express how happy I am that Bioware canned its previous composers; Mansell will grace ME3 with one of the greatest game soundtracks ever conceived.
@blaknite16523 Sam Hulick created this. It's not from anything, as far as I know. It's just something he created for Mass Effect 3, which is something he is not working on officially.
@DeinonychusZ Did he make anything else for it? I just don't get why the hell Hulick and Wall aren't doing the soundtrack. Their soundtracks make the bloody games!
I like this new style...too bad they aren't working on the game. Maybe Clint Mansell will do a good job but I have some heavy doubts. Not ruling anything out though until they show us some samples at E3.
I'm curious to see how closely Mansell will adhere to the style of the previous ME scores. Most of his work seems to revolve around guitars, violins, and pianos... which is all well and fine, but doesn't seem particularly fitting to what has been established. Some of his stuff on Pi was synth-based, but it was a long time ago, and a heck of a lot... cheesier, for lack of a better term. Colour me apprehensive. I'm not sure if it's in a good or bad way yet.
I think Clint Mansell was a very bad choice for ME3. Especially since Jack Wall and Sam Hulick already establishd a great soundtrack. I guarantee you that Mansell will not take the time to listen and learn from ME1 and 2, and he'll just do what he wants and in the end it will ruin ME3.
@Jammed9000 And how do you know that? Can you tell me? Clint Mansel is a famous music composer ,and he care about the characters theme ,just listen a couple music from him . Why do you think he's ignoring now the prevous themes? I don't understand you.
@DeinonychusZ It should be.At least they could use this as the opening theme because this is the last song they made for the Mass Effect series and they should respect that they managed to get 1 more song from him.
WTF?! Why isnt Sam going to be working in ME3? :( Has BioWare specified anything about it? I have nothing against the new composer, but I just dont like the idea of having a ME game without neither Jack Wall or Sam Hullick on it :'(
WHAT?! O____O I am gonna cry now. :( Sam Hulick is my favorite composer without any doubt (heck, I listened to Uncharted Worlds 22,000 times, without barely any exaggeration), and I cannot tell you all how much I love his work on Mass Effect and ME2. Please, Sam Hulick, PLEASE continue composing work with this theme and style and melodies!!! I will miss your Mass Effect contributions more than anything...
@M00shu Most people think of him as the Requiem for a dream guy(Good reason, so many fan videos.) and really only that. Meanwhile most of his work is more electronic. It'll certainly be interesting to see how good the soundtrack will be compared to ME1 and ME2's.
Mass Effect 1 and 2 has good soundtrack, but Clint Mansell, holy crap, his is the most talented compser in the world today. Just listen to The Fountain soundtrack. The Death Is The Road To Awe is one of the best pices I've ever heard. Clint Mansell is also much more epic in his music, that will fit ME well.
I didn't know! The final chapter of Mass Effect won't be the same without Jack Wall and Sam Hulick. Their work has been epic so far. I wonder who will they bring aboard to create the score for Mass Effect 3. I guess there are lots of other talented composers out there but ME3 will sound very different!
@DeinonychusZ You're welcome! I really enjoy listening to film scores and soundtracks. And because your channel has Mass Effect music it is simply awesome.
@brenndon1 Jack did mention in earlier BioWare podcasts that he wanted to move on to other projects, and apparently, he felt that now was the time to do it.
hmmm well it can be better...i think the work done up until now on the mass effects soundtracks had nailed the character of the whole "concept".i wouldnt like to listen to something different...
DAMN this one is so good.it makes me think of the cut scene it could be used in.The Normandy flying in from deep space starting with a dialogue between Shepard and Joker.Though it may not be in the game later on,I'm hoping for just as great soundtrack as the previous 2.The game will be awesome no doubt about that, but i hope they will find another great composer a so we can completely enjoy the game and the storyline.
Wow, i love this, thank you, i really hope whoever is working on the music does a good job. thats always a very important part for proper emotional connection. I am excited that its possible for something better to come of this, but also afraid of something worse, keep your fingers crossed!

@DuelingShadows You are a moron. Yes Mansell is good, maybe better than Hulick and Wall, but he won't do these themes and styles justice.

@chiffmonkey I completly agree with you, the game won't be the same without them.

@DuelingShadows BioWare didn't can their previous composers. In fact they rehired four Mass Effect composers.
