Put ANYTHING delicate in a shed and i guarantee it will suffer water damage or warping just from the condensation and moisture levels in a shed. Ever been up early enough in the morning to see dew on the grass? Yeah, thats what happens. Unless you have some sort of super shed with mad insulation and seals you're basically storing your stuff in the open air.
"Although it's difficult today to see beyond the sorrow,
may looking back in memory help comfort you tomorrow".
I feel so sorry about you, even more than my condition I got a complicated infected bone fracture (2 yrs + 15 surgeries), but those memories on that little boxes and cartridges...
your a complete fucking idiot just for storing your games in that manner and then you've got the nerve to ask ppl for money? you're the very epitomy of a fucking moron.
The fact that you are calm and coherent here is a miracle. I would most likely have responded to this by killing myself and then everyone else within reach. In that order.
I can send you some games, my sister has my old nintendo 64 with lots of games (its the pikachu nintendo :D ) i cant send the console but i can spare a few loose games like starwars, zelda popular brands back then, just message me if you are interested , i wont charge but would like to see some cool vids uploaded! :D thanks
My collection is in clear plastic boxes with lids, ive bought my large plastic boxes from the RANGE & small clear boxes from ASDA, i have had this happen to a couple of things in my shed, just down to condensation, so ive invested in boxes, the boxes mighy not be cheap, but if you add up the value of your gaming stuff it seems cheap to protect it
dang that like the tsunami disaster of games. wish I could do something to help but i'm a jobless bastard so I'll just shake my fist at the sky for making water on your games and ruining them.
it breaks my heart to see all those games ruind i would just be gone for weeks over that man if i still had my n64 i would send you some of my stuff but my cousin robbed it when he went to live in whales >:-( if it was the ps1 i could have sent you staks of games i cant stand to look at
I would be in shambles if that happened. Heck, I don't even have that much money (I don't have a job, you see), so to get all my consoles + games back would be (this is a guess) about $2000! But you're pretty brave to not break down about that. It looks like you have $2000-5000 there.... But wow.... weather is mean...

@VeLvEtGuNs Lol, I bought that on the Dreamcast recently! But luckily my original PS1 copy was a pirate, (rented it from blockbuster and copied it :S)
Aw man that sucks. I feel so bad for this guy, but am surprised how well he's taking it. British attitude I guess, stiff upper lip. I'm just glad it didn't rain again while he was drying everything out on the lawn, that would have added insult to injury.

i have played lots of games on the 360, like assassains creed, prototype, mw2. all the good games, but i was completely hartbroken when my spyro game for the ps1 got scratched, its probably one of my favorite games ever!

@ScrewAttackEurope that sucks =C like i said if i had another copy of each game i would send you one but yea i lost almost 500$ worth of games because almost all of them had the original games and some were japan copies so yea... im going to kill him for what he did. but yea you got hit like 3000% worser then i did =P
I hope many are salvageable, might be worth doing a huge list of all the things you need replacing (boxes, manuals, etc, etc). If theres anything I have the same of then id like to help any way I can. :)
@R33Racer The CD's are perfect, it's just the boxes that are destroyed, the cartridge ones are the ones that did worse, most have totally rusted inside.
Dude, we're all gonna die, and this video game stuff is worthless in the long run. Consider yourself lucky that you're freed from a bit of it. Hopefully you'll replace most of it with better things.
He was not the best step dad. My mother divorced him and told me to get all the things i could get and we would leave. I took all the games i could and my MegaMan Action Figures. I awaited for my games for about a year. Ended up he put all our stuff in a pile and burned all of it. Good news is that my collection is even bigger than it was all those years ago.
so sad, I live in my parents basement so I have a similar risk of losing my vast collection. Lol... my prayers are with you! I can't believe you weren't crying in your video, I sure as hell would of.
Man, what a shame. Hard to watch really, even though you put on a brave face throughout the video. I thought I had it bad when a hurrican came thru here some time back, and flooded out our garage, I had most of my Sega 32X games out there, plus some Atari 2600, 7800, and Intellivision. All in their original boxes. The 32X fared the worst. I lost the box to BC Racers, which bothered me the most. Saved the cartridge though.
The one good thing was that I learned from my mistake. So when our hot water heater burst I had no games in storage in the garage. In fact I put shelves up in the garage so that what stayed in there was at least off ground level.
Really sad that you lost the better part of 30 years worth of collecting. :(
That sucks dude, I'd be devastated if something like this happened to me. I've got some extra copies of a few n64 games I'd be willing to let go of for fairly cheap, of course they're cart only. I think more people need to learn how to store their games securely, I think Muzz from L1Games has a vid on how he does it using ziplock bags and plastic totes(storage containers) I thought that was a very good idea....especially if you're storing in a basement or a shed. I wish you the best man!
@ScrewAttackEurope that's understandable, plus it would probably be a little expensive shipping overseas. I have 007 the world is not enough, pokemon stadium, wargods and wrestlemania 2000. I'd sell them all for $5 USD each.
@ScrewAttackEurope yeah, the postage is probably a killer, I haven't checked yet but I'm estimating that it would cost probably double that in postage and seeing as I'm not working at the moment either it would probably easier and cheaper for you to get the game locally. I wish you luck dude!
I couldn't even finish the whole video, it was really that painful to watch. I treasure my own collection so much that I'd probably rather burn away with it than lose it if my apartment were to catch on fire, so I can just imagine how horrible you must feel.
U live in Britain and u stored ur games in a shed OUTSIDE

Gees, that distraught look on your face as the movie started alone was enough to make me depress

I am really sorry to hear that happened to you. I always get sad when retro games are destroyed like that.
jordanv78 1 year ago
I hope many are salvageable, might be worth doing a huge list of all the things you need replacing (boxes, manuals, etc, etc). If theres anything I have the same of then id like to help any way I can. :)
R33Racer 1 year ago
@R33Racer The CD's are perfect, it's just the boxes that are destroyed, the cartridge ones are the ones that did worse, most have totally rusted inside.
ScrewAttackEurope 1 year ago
@ScrewAttackEurope But if you have anything spare, I'll give it a good home ^_^
ScrewAttackEurope 1 year ago
@R33Racer Um, I did make a list of some of the games that I lost in the video description of the follow up video.
ScrewAttackEurope 1 year ago
@ScrewAttackEurope, Ah yeah sorry. :$

if you can save the cartiges or how ever you spell them you can put them in rice for 1-2 days and they will work again. Ive done it before =]

I'm sorry for your loss

Shame you can't get home content insurance on that stuff. S'pose it's down to self-negligence if it was you who made the hole in the shed roof.
mccelf 1 year ago
Dude, we're all gonna die, and this video game stuff is worthless in the long run. Consider yourself lucky that you're freed from a bit of it. Hopefully you'll replace most of it with better things.
Hope that helps, mate.

This reminds me when my old step dad destroyed my NES, SNES, and genesis collection ): IT's horrible to see games Destroyed.

@ThePowergloveNinja Eep, I'm sorry to hear that dude, what happened?
ScrewAttackEurope 1 year ago
@ScrewAttackEurope

@joe9320 Oh shit! What happened to them?
Wez lost a huge pile of PSP games once, he kept them all in an envelope and his girlfriend threw it in the bin by mistake.
ScrewAttackEurope 1 year ago
so sad, I live in my parents basement so I have a similar risk of losing my vast collection. Lol... my prayers are with you! I can't believe you weren't crying in your video, I sure as hell would of.
AdolfDisney 1 year ago
@AdolfDisney Well I filmed this a few days later, but I was more angry than upset.
ScrewAttackEurope 1 year ago
Man, what a shame. Hard to watch really, even though you put on a brave face throughout the video. I thought I had it bad when a hurrican came thru here some time back, and flooded out our garage, I had most of my Sega 32X games out there, plus some Atari 2600, 7800, and Intellivision. All in their original boxes. The 32X fared the worst. I lost the box to BC Racers, which bothered me the most. Saved the cartridge though.
STAY AWESOME mate!
cessnaace 1 year ago
@cessnaace PART 2:
The one good thing was that I learned from my mistake. So when our hot water heater burst I had no games in storage in the garage. In fact I put shelves up in the garage so that what stayed in there was at least off ground level.
Really sad that you lost the better part of 30 years worth of collecting. :(
STAY AWESOME mate!

jeez, your poor sod, sorry about that misfortune.
futurematt5 1 year ago
That sucks dude, I'd be devastated if something like this happened to me. I've got some extra copies of a few n64 games I'd be willing to let go of for fairly cheap, of course they're cart only. I think more people need to learn how to store their games securely, I think Muzz from L1Games has a vid on how he does it using ziplock bags and plastic totes(storage containers) I thought that was a very good idea....especially if you're storing in a basement or a shed. I wish you the best man!
SMAAAASHTV 1 year ago
@SMAAAASHTV Well I'm really tight for money ATM as I've lost my job the week before, so if I was going to buy titles I'd prefer them to be boxed.
But how much is cheap?
ScrewAttackEurope 1 year ago
@ScrewAttackEurope that's understandable, plus it would probably be a little expensive shipping overseas. I have 007 the world is not enough, pokemon stadium, wargods and wrestlemania 2000. I'd sell them all for $5 USD each.
SMAAAASHTV 1 year ago
@SMAAAASHTV Hmmm, I may like Wrestylemania! What about postage?
ScrewAttackEurope 1 year ago
@ScrewAttackEurope yeah, the postage is probably a killer, I haven't checked yet but I'm estimating that it would cost probably double that in postage and seeing as I'm not working at the moment either it would probably easier and cheaper for you to get the game locally. I wish you luck dude!
SMAAAASHTV 1 year ago
It was a sign from God to stop worrying about video games and get a fucking life.
IAmThePostalDude 1 year ago
I couldn't even finish the whole video, it was really that painful to watch. I treasure my own collection so much that I'd probably rather burn away with it than lose it if my apartment were to catch on fire, so I can just imagine how horrible you must feel.
Pimppihuuhkaja 1 year ago
I'd donate some games, but i only have US/Canadian versions

@emoNokes Most of my N64 collection were American copies (Nintendo Europe sucked for releases, so I imported nearly all my games!)
