I don't really get the point of killing the US Vice President. Aside from filling in for the President when he/she cannot serve(rare) and breaking ties in Senate votes (very rare), what else does the VP do of any import?

As an aside, that Inertial Element is really great for making enemies scream. And the guy flipping you off through the glass near the end was funny. Pretty awesome final battle, btw.

This follows the book Empire. In Empire, the Progressive Restoration kills off the President, the Vice President, and a whole shit-load of other guys with a missile attack on the White House.
