  • The music is so awesome. Anyone know the name of it?

  • is it just me or does the necro look fun to play in this video? summoning like a bunch of minions in the middle of monsters

  • Anyone else notice during the fight starting at 5:40 that there are pink butterflies coming out of those skulls? Looking back how could they ever fool us into thinking the mesmer wouldn't be in the game.

  • There's 1 thing i'm worried about about the dungeons and pve in general.

Will there be any strategy? I'm afraid the dungeons will be just dd, dd, dd and more dd while trying to stay alive with ur healing skill.

  • @megamedamonZ There will be strategy, although this vid does a poor job of showing it as they wanted to show the immediate action of a low level dungeon rather than the complexities of others. Which for once was a poor choice on their part.

  • I'm just guessing but the ghost that have the pink shields and what looks like throwing some sort of pink long range dagger attack, might be the last profession, Mesmer............

  • SO MUCH TORTURE! this game will shit on everything.

  • This game looks like shit

  • @RedMage86 TROLLOLOL

  • @RedMage86 lol Hella trollin'. first time i ever heard someone say somthing negative on this game.

  • @RedMage86 Speaking of looking like shit, how are you doing?

  • 2:35 what character is that black chick?Warrior?

  • @Ex7a5y ya its a warrior wielding duel axes

  • I really hope there is more variety to this dungeon than just human ghosts.

  • THIS IS A TORTURE i need to wait until 26 april to play guild wars 2! cry :'(..........

  • @IudiciumTempus ArenaNet hasn't announced a release date yet. They've only said beta this year, and the release date will depend on the feedback they get in beta. Don't trust any release dates you hear from sources other than the ArenaNet website. People and websites have been announcing false dates for over 2 years now...

  • @stonedinosaur oh really? put this on youtube '' Guild Wars 2: In-Depth Interview with Martin Kerstein - gamescom 2011'' by a developer. you fucking ignorant

  • @IudiciumTempus Did you actually watch the video? He gave no information, and nothing has been made official. He just smiled. Yes, you can suppose that his silence was answering their questions, but that's ridiculous. You don't even know if those are the same questions they actually asked him either; they could have easily asked him something even more ridiculous and edited the questions to make it appear that he was giving answering by refusing to say "yes" or "no". That video says nothing.

  • @IudiciumTempus Where did you get that date from?

  • @Matnetify

Guild Wars 2: In-Depth Interview with Martin Kerstein - gamescom 2011

  • @IudiciumTempus Lol, didn't answer those questions it was an interview meant for fun.

  • Not a fan of guns in a fantasy game. :(

  • Sooooooooooo jealous! D:

  • around 8:00

  • did you see the underwater dropkick vs the giant fish towards the end??? the fish actually was knocked back with an underwater drop kick.

  • I must not be a fantasy MMO fan. To me, this, the cutting edge in MMO graphics, looks like a bunch of models running through jerky animations without interacting with each other, while OTT magical effects fly everywhere. Looks nothing like fantasy combat 'should' look in my head.

I guess the technology for dynamic interaction between the character models isn't there yet.

  • @IncredibleGoliath the combat system doesnt link up without interacting for a reason. its half skill based and half rpg based. if you arent close enough or dodge an attack you wont get hit. in essence if it looks like they arent even hitting eachother, then they really arent doing damage in this game.

  • It gets a bit messy with all those special effects if you ask me..

  • mmm... For some reason, I see the trinity system feel still going on around there..

  • no game copies other games the whole mmorpg idea started from dungeons and dragons nobody copied them, but they made it similar.

  • The Charr themesong kicks ass.

  • I love how the ghosts actually look like ghosts and not people wearing blue suits and makeup

  • @kinglemoncheez I really like how the ghost look and have skills just like the players

  • rift <wow lets have a fair match up wow < guild wars 2. there we go the playing field more balance that way

  • What's with the dutch angle? And why can't the camera keep still?

Oh wait, because then people might figure out that this is another WoW clone. Forget I said anything.

  • @VioletZer0 Wow, you're a fucking retard.

  • @VioletZer0 You are completely fucking retarded to think this is a WoW clone...

  • @zEkhoz Oh, my apologies. I forgot to mention that it has a few fad gimmicks being thrown in there to pretend it isn't a WoW clone.

  • @VioletZer0 You must play WoW :3 Hehe.

  • @VioletZer0 I'm a WoW player, and i don't think GW2 is WoW like, if u really know the game system Anet is trying to build. WoW is good, not god.

  • @VioletZer0 You must be mistaken with ToR. Either that, or the guy calling you a fucking retard is absolutely correct.

  • @VioletZer0 This game is no where even close to being a WoW clone. If you actually take the time to research the differences in game mechanics, UI and even the business model of ANet your assumption of this being a WoW clone is totally false.

Did you call WoW an EQ clone when it released?

  • @chadmtemple Sure as hell looks like WoW. That is, they're just standing still swatting each other. Just like WoW. That's not fun.

  • @VioletZer0 I think you're blind. Most of these characters are moving, and not standing still. Swatting each other? That happens in all MMO's. If you don't like that, then don't watch these videos. Tssh.

  • @VioletZer0 Well the demo player might be not good enough to use dodge and moving to avoid damage, or switch position to change the target of mobs. That doesn't mean player can only stand still hitting or being hit in game. BTW, what version of Wow can let u stand still in raid? Almost every boss has AoE or some skill forcing u to move.

  • @VioletZer0

Seeing as there's a fully implemented dodge feature, leap attacks and no auto attacking, there will be a lot of combat movement during the game. TotalBiscuit, who is renowned for hating hotkey MMO's said that this is the game he is most looking forward to. Coming from a guy who likes to pick holes in things, thats high praise.

  • So is Rytlock a thief or warrior? EoD says he's a warrior, but he's clearly shooting a pistol in this video.

  • @BlazeHerr Hes a warrior and also warriors can use bows/guns just like in previous MMO's

  • @TacTicalWog What previous MMOs? Guild Wars 1 never had guns. And Warriors can only use rifles, NOT PISTOLS. He is clearly wielding a pistol.

  • AH! dont know witch class to make first!!

  • @SaintsXstreet I'm going with Charr Warrior first!

  • 9 people are blizz employees

  • I hope they announce Dates at GamesCon! Its going to be so hard to make your first character! What Race?!/ What Class!?!? Im leaning Charr Warrior? Slyvari Necro?! IDK!!!!

  • that flamethrower looks sweet!!

  • necromancer using the death shroud looks like a death eater from harry potter xD

  • I'm just iffy on the whole "No attacking" concept still. But I guess there's no need for them to move around as much

  • As excited as I am about GW2, the first 21 seconds of this video looked like it was boring as heck. Like ridiculously boring.

  • guild wars 2,why u no sold?

  • will a Dell Inspiron 14R Laptop Computer- Intel Core i5-2410M Processor 2.30 be able to run this? pleeease reply

  • @jumpthenoob probably.

  • @jumpthenoob Probably. Graphic card?

  • I don't see a lot of dodging going on~ they just stand there and whack away... and things are homing in on them. I thought the devs were talking about "dynamic combat"?

  • @strikerk Coz they are noobs

  • @strikerk cuz dodging is useful but when you are playing in a team and you need to do as much dmg as you can you dont want to dodge

  • @assassian0601 Still, things are homing in on them~ so how would ya dodge them anyway?

  • @strikerk there is a roll button and you can jump away and if you do them you dont get hit

  • This game is coming out early November :3. I already reserved it :D

  • @AkavariGamingWW thats just what ign says. They actually have no clue if thats the release date (which its not). i would guess it will be released earliest in end of december or early 2012

  • @fiiliop (Speculating) I've went through everything I can find about GW2 several times, just like many. However, I'd say that the release date will be around spring 2012. December if we're REALLY lucky, but that won't happend.

  • @AkavariGamingWW ye no you didnt, and if you did you were scammed.

  • @Hardscript Then go to your gamestop and ask to preorder it instead of assuming things you obviously dont know.

  • @AkavariGamingWW ok so when are you getting it? lol you paid for something they may not be released for another year

  • The latest interview (/watch?v=Uqsh4X6Ra3U) says they are conducting closed beta right now and don't know when open beta is :(

  • It's torture to watch this when we don't got the game and when we don't know when it will be release

  • @Matasikox totally man. Im looking forward so much, and I am on the last year of school, so its good that the game will launch only next year, since my grades arent so good haha

  • @epicnidhogg So lucky man ><

  • @Matasikox Well, we need to watch this to see whether we gonna buy the game or not

  • @Matasikox in november - december there will be a beta then aftter betas closed they annoucned probally early 2012 i cant wait if u want to come with me ima freeze my self in alaska :D

  • The necromancer looks so badass.

  • Need to see some crazy 2handers weapons!

  • @KhmerCharity I haven't really seen any yet but the game will have two-handed greatswords, hammers, rifles, etc.

  • actually... as a long time gw1 player (6 years, all campaigns, proffesions, ect.) I find this video to look exactly like a GW1 dungeon.... I dont understand. these textures are bland and dark, and there are no interesting or unique set pieces. Not to mention stuff like that hunk of grass floating in the air at 3:06. are you guys being paid to say this looks good?

  • @eikumbokum Honestly this is the only bad video we've seen thus far about the game. But I have it on my playlist for Gw2 info considering it's the only one inside a dungeon.

Although there's still hope for Gw2's dungeons considering magazine articles have described the dungeons in greater detail than this video ever shown, and it has been said that this video had cut out most of the things seen and done in the dungeon.

  • @eikumbokum Its called catacombs. What do you want ponies and rainbows?

  • @eikumbokum Dude 1st this is pre alpha release, 2nd idk what your looking @ but in full HD it looks great, 3rd characters are probably all wearing basic armor wtf do you want its a demo? If I'm not mistaken that "hunk of grass floating in the air" is an animation of a mesmer skill being used by a ghost. I've been playing GW since beta release this looks great to me, but if you want to judge the game why not wait until at least beta & you can see it on your own computer then you can complain.

  • @eikumbokum I lose faith when I read comments like yours.

It’s a good looking game that gives us another option for an MMO.

But who knows, maybe you just have an unreasonable expectations for your games these days.

And if the game is great overall, I look forward to not seeing you. Win/Win situation.

  • There is something wrong with 8 people.

  • I wonder what the specs for this game are going to be because I'll be getting a new laptop for college, I was looking at something like a MSI GT780R, which I'm pretty sure would be able to do it...

  • @swifty7051 I feel you'll be fine, but I hope you got some gaming mouse because a laptop pad would be annoying with this game. lol

  • @LeonZapphire Oh yea definetly I have a USB mouse already, I'm going to wait till the game comes out to see what Gaming mouse I should get for it.

  • @swifty7051 Well there's a lot of demo videos out already that I think will help you determine that. If you want to see more gameplay, you can check out my channel's Gw2 Info playlist. There's even a couple videos I found with underwater combat that I think you'll find interesting. :]

  • Not sure yet if my graphic card is going to survive this. Still, it looks a w e s o m e.

  • @PastafarianHunter The demo computers use GTX 295s, which are pretty old cards (released in 2009), and they were running at 1080p on 21.5" monitors. The game is extremely well optimized (notice that the background graphics look like concept art). I have a photo the demo station specs; PM me if you want a link to it.

  • the use of auspicious camera angles instead of a view from the player often obscures whats really going on. it would have been better to capture this from the view of each participant including the HUD.

  • Please, Please let this game come out soon!

  • @ProfessoinalNoob95 It won't come out till 2012

  • @Galgamos probably but i can always hope lol

  • this will give wow a run for its money

  • @Raikusxox Yes but the leveling curve caps when leveling starts to take around an hour and a half at max. So it's likely he'll be far ahead of us for awhile. lol

  • yawn

  • @jschuhr If you want to see better gameplay videos for Gw2, check out my channel's playlist for how the game can truely be like. :P

Yes we all know this video is boring.

  • looks impressive! still I want dx11 -_-

  • @saitaro I don't know if the game will be able to work with dx11. I know that they've mentioned dx10 is optional for better visuals but I don't know how much more they allowed other than that.

  • @LeonZapphire Yeah I've heard about it. The game is built using the updated gw1 engine. Anyway, with tesselation and stuff gw2 would look bloody awesome. It looks awesome now, to my eye. But not bloody:P I think they'll add dx11, just because it exists. C'mon, even WoW got the technology!

  • @saitaro Having the technology and having use for the technology are two different things. lol

  • @LeonZapphire true. But isn't making use of a technology a work for devs? :P

  • @saitaro Maybe. hehe But with the way things are now, I don't see much use for dx11 or whatever else at the moment.

  • im taking 2 weeks off from work along with a buddy of mine to play this thing as it comes out ... ill be lvl 40 when u guys hit lvl 10 LOL ... peace ...

  • those ascalon ghosts are bashit strong

however they leave corpses in this video, i hope they turn to mist or something just like the book when the final version is released

  • Arena net , go through each part of the game so passoinately, makes me wish i worked there, i'de be soo into it, i'de work all night man....the dungeons, the quests, the armor, the weapons, the characters, the story , the world, the pvp, each part of pvp, if any company does what they do we'd have a master piece each and everytime. i'm gonna buy each expansion for this game, just to support Anet, even if i stop playing this game... thats my word.

  • @outlawkelb You could start with getting the Platinum Edition of the original Guild Wars. lol It includes the first game known as "Prophecies" and its expansion known as Eye of the North. Both of which will get you aquainted with the lore of Tyria in Gw2 and of the playable races.

Although I should warn that the first Gw games were never called "mmo"s to begin with. They're more like CORPGs (Competitive Online Role Playing Games). But it's a good strategic game I really loved regardless.

  • @LeonZapphire i have GW and all the expansions, even though i only play for pvp matches here and there.

  • @outlawkelb Ah I see. :]

  • why do characters move as if the ground has no friction. I hope they fix that.

  • @saturn226 hmm looks okay to me. im sure if it is though they will fix it.

  • @saturn226 One of the things that bugs me about that video is they haven't turned on shadows. I see it in about half of of the GW2 videos ou there. It's annoying because without them you get this effect that they are floating and have no connection with the ground.

  • @saturn226 Dude it's pre-beta demo. Just look at Guild Wars Alpha and compare it to finished GW1. It's quite a lot different, so don't worry about this one.

  • @KimboRamboFin lol, yea i know GW1 walk cycle was screwed up, thats why i never played that game. But i am just concerned because being a new video I am assuming this late in the game this may be set in stone. :< game looks excellent otherwise though.

  • @saturn226 Quite a bad reason not to play Guild Wars 1... One of the greatest games ever made and easily the best MMO. Great PvP and all. Well, for me it doesn't even matter if the moving wouldn't look so good (which won't happen). I just want the game to be fun, I will not worry about small things like that.

  • @KimboRamboFin It would have easily become one of the best MMOs if it actually was an MMO. However ArenaNet always hesitated to call Gw1 an mmo. It's more of what they call a CORPG.

  • Why the fuck would we want high tech weapons in a low tech (except for asura and some aspects of the dwarfes) world :(

  • @DarkNshY It's not the same time period as Gw1. It's 250 years into the future with Gw2, meaning technology progressed (at least more so with the Charr being pyromaniacs & warlords while Asura have their pursuit of knowledge). It was bound to happen as this game wasn't said to be a perpetually medieval game, but rather it's purely fantasy. The game is set more towards late medieval times where there's still usage of swords & magic but technology is now getting into the mix due to the times.

  • Flamethrower made me crap myself. definitely playing an engineer

  • I think what he meant was they like old school games lol...

  • Is that a female mesmer and elementalist "ghosts" at 2:55 ?

  • @Ersanea Well they did say that the ghosts in the dungeon have all of the classes you see from Gw1.

  • Thumbs up if you saw the Mesmer NPCs doing their Mesmering. Fingers crossed for it being the final profession.

  • 8 people still plays Nintendo.

  • @KhmerCharity Do Not fuck with the Nintendo 64 -- 64 was the master. Now beg the 3-prong controller for forgiveness

  • @shortysaved4 "was"

  • @KhmerCharity Hey, that comment doesn't make sense. :[ I like Nintendo and currently like the GW series. lol

  • @KhmerCharity What does playing Nintendo have to do with disliking a GW2 video?

  • Am I the only one having trouble with getting a clear view about what's going on exactly due to all those effect? I'm finding them a bit too many and especially the foggy ones are giving me a hard time to distinguish everyone's actions.

Besides from that it looks quite cool but I prefer actual gameplay with the interface on :3

    Can't wait though!

  • open beta or release date please!!!

  • @starbuccaneers Beta will be this year, but I don't know wether it's open or closed.

The current release date, as said by ArenaNet themselves is: "When it's ready"

  • @starbuccaneers apparently itll be sometime in november since thats the date the stores have been informed that they will be allowed to sell the game though there hasnt been much talk over the date so im not that sure on if it has changes since I knew the date back in feb

  • @starbuccaneers beta's will come later this year and release date is "When it's done". Probably in january next year or somewhat close to that.

  • @starbuccaneers relax, they dont want to post a release date, because people like you would bitch and moan when its not released then.

  • @starbuccaneers i can understand you mate but dont push them. let them make it EVEN BETTER

  • i like how in this game people actually HIT them not swing from a mile away sword being far from target and hit

ps mmorpgs took a HUGE step since 2000

  • @Mine0n0Craft guild wars and guild wars 2 took a leap

  • i like how in this game people actually HIT them not swing from a mile away sword being far from target and hit

  • Looks awesome but whats the point of this video :S

  • @aidencurl Idk, i guess to see game play during a dungeon? I still think it looks cool:)

  • @aidencurl To show gameplay of the catacombs...durr.

  • @aidencurl It didn't show much in terms of how great the game would be, but it was a show of power with teams in a dungeon and the dungeon itself.

  • well i think i saw adelbern...lovely

  • Comment removed

  • I am truly excited.

  • Yeah, I do really think arenanet is innovating with this game, but i don't feel like this video showcases those innovations very well. It looks very static here, really.

  • @GaMzyProductions but i dont see any of that in this vid, and i dont see much of a difference between this and any other mmo...

  • @GlassWallStudioz That's because the people playing this demo were those trying out the gameplay for the first time involving a dungeon for their recent article. They're not experts at this game and players are conditioned by old games into not even thinking actively about dodging or running while casting. This ofcourse is just a demo video showing snippets of their fight with possibly excluding the parts they had trouble to just look good.

This is the only vid I've seen with lack of action.

  • Lol my first thought when i saw this vid, grind, i thought the game was meant to be all different by really it's the same, click the spell, click it again, click it again, the things is dead. Not that different from anything else.

  • @GlassWallStudioz There is no forced grind in this game just like in Gw1. The option is there if you like working for levels the hard way but most of the exp comes from events, storyline, dungeons, or lvl'ing up in World PvP. And considering there's a lvling curve at some point of the game, it means that going from lvl 79 to 80 will take as long as 57 to 58. (Max time mentioned it would take a level was said to possibly be around an hour and a half so it wouldn't feel grindy.)

  • @GlassWallStudioz ya because dodging attacks, hiding behind ur shield, and casting while moving is not different at all...

  • @GlassWallStudioz This doesn't show that at all. Does it show you the screen of someone playing? NO! SO STFU! The game looks awesome and they're going to do everything to not make you grind, that's the hole point of this game...

  • The views are over 9000!!!

  • @Thomassutton360 Are you suggesting that this video shows grinding? I fail to see what you're talking about. Unless you're talking about the dungeons in general. Because I hope you realize these dungeons don't even take up 5% of the game. And they're optional. Grinding can only be apparent if there's something to grind for. Guild Wars 2 just like Guild Wars 1 will be about skill, not gear. Dungeons are put in the game to add even more fun to it.

  • As a GW1 player, I shudder to think of fighting the ghosts of people that I once knew back in Ascalon. I heard someone spotted Vassar somewhere in this video.

GW2 is so gonna rock the gaming world when it comes. I can't for it to be released.

  • 4:50 - Snow Shower? O.o

  • is it me or at 6:01 do I see pink butterfly like things flying around produced by a mesmer like skill?

  • @amfahmage Some of the ghosts are indeed mesmers. Some of them are monks too.

  • @amfahmage Yeah they've mentioned that the ghosts are all of the classes you see in Gw1, so don't be surprised to see mesmers in there.

  • @LeonZapphire Ah ok, thanks for the info.

  • I wanna get a new computer just for this game
