You can fix a tire without taking it off the bicycle.
You should put you bike upside down (so it stands on its handles and seat), deflate the tire and pour some milk into the tube. Then inflate the tire slightly and start spinning the peddles so the tire spins at great velocity. The milk will fill in the holes and gets solid. In my experience it holds pretty well, you only have to inflate he tire each week or so. Of course this should be used only if your tired deflates not too fast.
