  • good play!!! Bravo!

  • nice stuff. kinda looks like the guy from merlin. hahahah.

  • Great song, and a fine tribute to Miles. Nice work. We're playing this in Jazz Band.

  • This is an excellent version! I'm auditioning for my school's jazz band for both piano and guitar, and this version is really helping me hear how the parts are supposed to sound. Love it! :D

  • really nice tone man just quit the freedy greene shit and itll be awesome

  • I LOVE the the Davis quintet version which was the only recording I have heard previous to this...but i really enjoyed this!!! Piano player was solid and the guitar playing was great!!!!

  • you look a lot like that dear human cat!

  • I like the solo and how it came back into the head.

  • nice

  • where did you get an ORANGE amp? those are so nice and ridiculously expensive. excellent job too. Would sound fantastic with the combos we have here at the university lol

  • Good!!

    (i don't speak english XD)

    that it "climbs" you use?

my teacher said to me that in Eb Pentatonic...

    this good in that?

    ok, sorry :D

  • good job! you deserve an upright and a kick ass drummer! :)

  • If you can use Pentatonic scales in a way to create some nice voice-leading from one chord to another they are effective because the Pentatonic scales contain arpeggios. Adding some chromatic passing tones to the pentatonics is another way to utilize them.

  • The second part of the head is actually from an ending that Dizzy used for an ending for one of his recordings to "Groovin High"(the coda).

  • Good playing.

  • how bout if you get a few trumpets and an upright to jam with you guys sometime?

  • I like the playing.

  • You guys own. Nice playing.

  • Awesome feel to the solo, try using the tri tone substitution when you're soloing.

  • Jajajaja relax dawg, im just saying is not usual to see one of those guitar in jazz.

  • *deleted* lol

    Thanks cagethug!

  • SG for jazz... wow

  • luls you're in my house right now

  • great sound

  • Dan & Ben sounds really cute =) i love this song!

  • Pretty good.

  • implaying this in my cambo band

  • you play too many pentatonics. those chords going down half steps are actually tri-tone substitions. you should cehck that out

  • if it sounds good... who cares?

  • Bravo!

  • sweet

  • you guys are really great, and the best part is that you are trying to keep the jazz idiom alive, and thats really great, and welcome to the performing arts.

  • very good!!

  • VerY GOOD.

  • good one... congratz!

  • nice

    good job

  • ey yo ey yo... shit was aight

why are you wearing a bluetooth headset, dude?

  • thats pretty cool, how old are you guys?

  • keep going !!

    the tone is great

  • sg and an orange head.... suprisingly good tone, u may be on to somethin

  • Great stuff, great tune.

  • nicely done guys, keep it up.

the sg has a better sound than most guitarists think, good job bringing that out

  • wow this is some sick stuff! totally awsome solo!

  • dude i think your a great guitar jazz player....can u tell me what you were using to solo over the tune. (etc. modes, triads) Thanks man. keep it up

  • Mainly dorian... Four is kind of a funny tune, most of the key changes just move in half steps. I cheated a lot and used mostly pentatonics. Then just a little arpeggio walkdown at the end. Nothing special!

  • Great!!!

  • Man, on a SG! Sick man, don't worry about the quality, it's perfect in my ears. Nice solo man.

  • hehe - I've never seen jazz played on an SG before...

sounded awesome, though! great playing, both of ya!

  • Keep up the great work guys! That's a fun tune to play live. It's great to see young jazz musicians.

  • were playing this for jazz band we kcikc ass our guitarist have the same gutiar as u im a drummer

  • sweet, sounded awsome

  • great, i like it

  • This doesn't sound like the original, mainly because you can tell what the hell's going on.

  • Hahahaha I get the joke, apperently some don't.

  • i would love to jam with you guys.

  • This is a lovely cover, well done, the sound from that SG is superb as well.

  • great tone

  • where can u find the music (tabs) for this

  • I just used a real book, i'm not sure if the tab version exists, but i can tab it out if i get enough requests.

  • Dan, i miss you!!

  • @danmit please tab it

  • @danmit

f you did that it would be so awsome.

    you're great

  • If you really want to play jazz, you wouldn't be caught dead with tabs.

  • hahah whenever i see comments like these on guys playing a jazz standard, i always laugh. but then again, they dont know any better. but its still funny.

  • i really don't understand how you can play this song and need tabs at the same time. if you have to ask for tabs because you can't read real book sheet music(why else would you need tab?) you probably can't play it fluently anyway.

  • I hate to say it but I agree. This is tough to play without sheet music. If you want to learn it, get some.

  • Loving it, keep up the good work!

  • beautiful sound

  • Very nice feel!! One of the better interpretations of this tune I've seen on youtube.

  • i love how you're getting that rich jazzy tone out of an sg

  • bonita

  • pretty awesome

  • this very good

  • I have that same shirt

  • p.s. miles deff didnt write this

its by eddie clean head vinson

    miles stole it pal

  • jazz musicians don't "steal" tunes. they play other artist's tunes and improve upon them. through this process the music slowly evolves. we wouldn't be where we are today if this didn't occur

  • i know this is very late. but yes Miles Davis Stole a lot of tunes my friend. He stole it. He took vierds blues straight from john coltrane called Tranes Blues. its the same melody and its a blues.

And yes we would still be here if that didnt occur, the only thing that would change is that miles name wouldnt be up in the right hand corner of your sheet music

  • ...word

  • What amp you're using? I play SG for several months now and I've never heard it sounding like this.

  • I havfe to learn this for a jazz band try out. It's gonna be interesting.

  • excellent duo. i salute you guys. great job

  • Nice Version Four Miles DAVIS.

    iTS GOOD

  • Ok, Two of Miles Copywrited tunes, "Four" and "Tune Up" were stolen from a guy named 'Eddie "Cleanhead" Vinson'. I want you all to just try and beleive that Miles was sort of a jerk.

  • I just like the song... no matter who wrote it.

  • He didn't exactly steal it, it's just based on How High the Moon by Vinson. It happened a lot back then.

  • Haha, really I wish you could beleive me. At the time Miles Played with Cedar Walton when he picked up this dimepeice of a tune and he stole it. I'm gonna get to the bottom of it but you don' even know how much it hapeened. Bill Evans wrote BLue in Green, Billy Strayhorn wrote Take the "A" Train. It happened often. If there is no Copywrite. I hate your ignorance because it was a cut throat buizz. You should shut up and research, Don't just look at your dumb Fakebook

  • you're an idiot. Miles wrote this and Solar. whoever says that, you're wrong.

  • jazzman has right. I had a mastercourse with Agostiono di Giorgio and he said that many songs aren't written by Miles. For example Four and Solar.

  • So good.

  • nice job!!take a look in my version!!

  • hot solo

  • Jazzman303, Miles DID write it, I don't know what you're smoking, but last time I checked he DID write it. I played it in my high school's Jazz Ensemble this year.

    A Jazz Lover and Trumpeteer,

    ~Meg~

  • no once again ur wrong

    miles stole it

besides what your stupid real book or fake book says,

its by eddie clean head vinson

    screw ur highschool jazz band

  • Miles Davis didn't even write that tune... What a thief

  • We played the Realbook version, and it says miles davis at the top.

  • oooo ur an idiot he wrote it dont call urself jazz man anymore

  • ur an idiot eddie cleanhead vinson took it

  • Duh. Ben is on the keyboard.

    Dan is on the guitar.

  • Nice job, both of you!

I actually recognized you from Brazoswood, Ben. Never knew you could play the guitar!
