Let's say Blizzard update the graphics for everything within this enormous world they've created, this is gonna push the memory size of the game up by quite a bit. I personally wouldn't mind making some space available on my hard drive for a better-looking World of Warcraft, but I also understand that not all people can or want to keep a 50GB game on their computer. For LOTRO (made by Turbine, who also does DDO), you have to buy each area separately, have to pay to increase the amount of gold your character can have, pay for bank slots, etc. True that these things can be purchased using the equivalent of achievement points, you don't get enough 'turbine points' just by normally playing the game to get everything... you still have to pay at some point.

@Nilore Yes, you will have to pay at some point, but all the things you pay, are unlocked forever, therefor, if you stop playing the game, and come back a couple months later, you wont have to repay everything. Its about 100$ to have most major area, do the math, and you get a very decent game for a minimum amount of money in the end, 15$ per months isnt that bad, but some rather not pay at all.
