Hi, i have downloaded this addon to my holy pala, and i wanteded it to remind me to take Seal of insight on when i'm in combat if i don't alrady have it.

But the reminder is always there when i'm in combat, even if i have it on. Isn't it possible to make it do what i want it to?:P

i had a very very nice power auras set up on my mage but i quit. then came back and its all of course gone

it seems the addon has been updated since.. im having troubles making an aura which while my spell is on cooldown is starts a timer showing the cooldown, if possible grayed out. then as the action is usable it lights up (not grayed) and starts pulsing

iv been trying spell cooldown, action usable, and spell alert and all their inverted actions, but nothing is working

@tmweb95 Sounds like you'll need to make multiple auras for that to work. The first is the CD aura. Start by creating one for the spell using "action usable" and then invert it and display timer. I'd use the item's own icon then color it grey. Next you'd copy that and paste it in then change the new aura to NOT invert and use a different color. I'll play with it tonight and see if I can get it to work. I used to run a pre-made UI that did exactly what you're wanting as a CD timer.

@GGORRO Not to my knowledge. Check the drop down for tracking "killing blow". If it isn't there, then no. There are other mods that will do this though.

i really like this addon but..i wish i could make stuff like make an aura show up when i get a debuff.. ANY debuff...writing down every single one in the game is kinda....yea ,but other then that its a good addon

@GGORRO You can set up a debuff aura for when you have a specific type of debuff. They are in various school like incapacitate, slow, poison, etc.

@IamFurBurger That's as basic as it gets. Set it to monitor a debuff, set it to "cast by me" and put Serpent Sting in the name block. Jump to the timer tab and enable it, position it and you're fine. It will refresh everytime Chimera hits, you don't have to do anything special for it.

@wowcataclysm2011 - let's say for Blessing of Kings, you make a new power aura, Activation by Buff, put Blessing of Kings in the textbox below that line, click Exact Name, click Use Own Texture, click invert, use Size, X & Y at the top to position it where you want. There you go.

I have been asking around, for some reason my power auras, along with totem timers and a few other small addons are giving me some ussues..whenever i do work on them, change them or mocve them around or make new auras and i log out....it all resets goes back to default.. for totem timers it says that it does not detect a certain version and is reset to default for power auras i have absolutely no idea and i havent found any reason why it would be doing that,have tried reinstalling, any advice?

All I can suggest is make sure you're running a current version. Check the addon sites and the release number. If you're current and still experiencing issues, try posting to the author in the comment section. They may be able to help more.

Im trying to set one up for my lock for the Life Tap glyph buff. I want it to come up when I first cast it and then have a timer (39s) until it runs out to make sure I cast it before it hits zero. I've been having the hardest time with this, Powerauraclassic doesnt come up when the spell is casted.

Hey I've been wondering how to add item Cooldowns to this. I found out it's suppose to be the item slot number. But I still don't know what I'm actually suppose to put in the space. Can you give me an example?

@eter First, make sure the item is on your action bars, otherwise POWA won't recognize it. Next, you want the activation type to be "Action Usable" and invert this. Now just put in the name of what you're tracking. If you're tracking your hyperspeed accelerators as an engineer, put the name of the item they are on in the activation blank. Works fine for me.

@EldarVSFS This sounds like a version issue. Make sure you're fully updated and that the updated version isn't running with bugs. Check the addon comments on WoW interface.

excellent vid :) I've been trying for an hour tho to get Power Auras to tell me when I'VE been debuffed/stunned whatever. It's for pvp. It looks simple but i just cant get it to work.

i want it to show me an icon when a rogue uses blind on me (till it's gone) but not just that... A Stun icon whenever I'm stunned (by no matter what ability)

is it possible to do that?

I'm pretty sure you have to specify the ability you want it to cover. Its possible to list several debuffs in the activation tab and list them all under the same icon. You just need to seperate them (with a semicolon if I recall correctly).

@psonara011 You could choose debuff type for stun, silence and a few more, I think u can get blind as disorient, but I'm not sure. Hope this helped

Hey Kel, nice vid, I make addon tutorials as well. The only thing I didn't see that I personally use more often than stock textures is the [x] Use Own Texture for buffs/debuffs. Rather than looking at a tribal tattoo that says "BAD STUFF" next to it, you're actually looking at the debuff art, or whatever. Easy way to associate and differentiate your POWA's without having to become a graphics design major!

Good point, I actually use that almost exclusively for buffs that I maintain on myself. SnD/HfB on my rogue, DP/SS on my paladin, etc.

Three things to add - not sure if this is just me, but I see a lot of people who are not getting this to work and one of these may be the reason:

1. Different language version: When I imported a power aura from another site, I had to go into the configuration and edit it. Be aware that unless you're working with aura IDs, Power auras will look for the text string you entered.

2. When creating and testing a configuration while hitting a dummy you're most probably in a city and although you may be in fight while hitting the dummy, you're resting. Make sure you uncheck the red X for when "resting".

3. When done editing I always have to press ESC *until* I see my main menu to enable the new configuration. Not sure why that is but if I don't do it, the config does not run. Maybe it's just me.

It's a good idea to enable "debug" while testing your new configuration. This will print out power aura messages to your chat window. Makes it really easy to find mistakes you may have put in the triggers.

No, those are Miks Scrolling Battle Text, a separate addon entirely that replaces the ingame battle text.

It isn't working for me, i want it to show when judgement is ready to be cast, and when Hammer of Justice is ready to be cast, but nothing pops up and i followed the tutorial exactly

1) Make sure you're using the right activation method. "Action Usable" is what you want for both.

2) Check the spelling of the abilities you put in.

3) Check that the version of your power auras is current and is a working version.

I run an aura just like this on my shaman. I set it to track a buff, "Shield" and set it to "invert" (tell me when it isn't on) and then set it to use its own icon. Works fine for me. Make sure you're using a workable version on power auras, sometimes the author will update it with a bad release and take a few days to fix it.

What "crap" do you find doesn't work? I'd love to help but I need some more information. First off I'd recommend making sure you have a working version of Power Auras. Check the addon comments on WoW Interface and make sure the current release is functioning find.

@jobblestan Just a guess: You could make a timer, which lasts for 45sec(?), when you cast Feral Spirit. hope this works.

I used My Warcraft Studio. Its the same application that people use to datamine info from the PTRs. You can open the game's .mpq files and see character models, spell effects or, in my case, any sound present in the game.

I did some digging, found the actual achievement sound effect the game uses and copied it to a new file. Put it in the "sounds" folder in PowerAuras and it works.

great tutorial kelann, I have a question for you. How do I setup an aura to show me when my Divine Plea is ready to use? I have been trying to get it working for over an hour and it seems like it should be simple but I cant figure it out

In the drop down box on the activation tab there is an option for "action usable". This can be used for anything that needs a trigger (like a warrior's revenge or execute) or as basic as showing when something is off of cooldown.

In your case, use it and put Divine Plea in the box. Then make an aura for it and it'll show anytime DP is off CD.

do i need to type in the name of a weapon enchantment or the name of the buff you get like rune of the fallen crusader wich give a buff called unholy strength?

It depends on what you want to track? If you want to track whether or not you have Fallen Crusader on your weapon, you select "weapon enhancement" from the drop down box and then type in Fallen Crusader.

If you want to track Unholy Strength procs then select buff from the drop down box and type in the name of the buff - "Unholy Strength".

You can track ANY buff, just put its name in the blank and give it an aura.

Clearcasting is the name of the buff. Works fine for me. The other is Predator's Swiftness. Its also a buff. I recently got a druid to 80 and both skills work fine in my POWA setup.

First off, stacks = 0 is what you want. Battle Shout doesn't "stack" so you're setting ti to automatically not show at all. In the activation tab, make sure its set to "buff", spelled correctly, "cast by me", "only when in combat" and stacks = 0. Should show. Also make sure you aren't testing it in a city (or uncheck the "while resting" box).

The cooldown bar in the middle of the screen is part of a larger addon called "ForteXorcist", a warlock mod. You can download the whole thing and just copy the folder for FXcooldown into your addons folder. Check wowinterface for it.

Choose "debuff type" and then in the blank type Silence. If that doesn't work, I'm not sure what else is an option, I haven't toyed with that part.

Debuffs don't work for me.. only what works for me of that list is 'Buf' & 'Action usable ..

Make sure you set it for debuff as well as tick the box that says "enemy target". This will swp it from tracking a debuff on you to a debuff on a mob.

Those are class timers. They come already setup with most personal buffs and mob debuffs for your class. You can add some like trinker procs etc. Yes, I am use Pitbull 3 in the video.

For Nightfall, if I remember correctly, it appears as a buff that you can use so you'll want to watch a buff and type in the name of said buff, not the talent that gives it.

An effect can be created for anything that gives you a "buff" or "debuff" so yes, it works for Paladin's Auras. :)

Sure. Its simplest function is to trach what "buffs" appear on your character. Just make an event to track the aura you WANT up in raids (call it retribution aura for instance) and select "show when not active". It will display the texture reminding you that the right aura isn't up.
