  • The radio probably just needs an alignment. Your IF frequency on that radio is 456kHz.

    Good luck!!!

  • week output tubs

  • Output tube is NOS.

  • Nice looking radio, Because of that ballast like someone else had mentioned, I would not want to run it too long.

    Bill

  • Thank you. Yes, it makes me a lttile nervous!

  • nice radio! i have a 1942 philco transitone radio that i picked up for $20 at an antique shop. i works, but the sound will fade, unless i taps couple of times. 2 tubes tested weak so that might be the case. unlike my other vintage gear, itz not going to see any use so i'm not changing any component in it, but maybe those weak tubes. i'll get up here someday.

  • I have a couple Philco Tabletops that seem to suffer from intermittents like that. Most be those darn Loctals!

  • Very nice colletable. Your right not to run it very much, the heat will accelerate the aging of the cabinet. It looks really good and plays as deigned.

  • Thanks, there is hardly a scratch on the cabinet, and little or no warping. Very unusual for a radio like this. It must have not gotten very much use.

  • That's great. It's getting harder and harder to find a radio that does not have a big chunk missing out of the cabinet.

  • Sorry about that name. Apparently I forgot to sign off my brother's account! Ha!
