  • wooo whoooooo big bet, for a big man :) vegas vacation

  • Wallace Shawn is my hero! He should be knighted! He should be awarded a Pulitzer!

  • @kearyjones Wallace Shawn would never accept a knighthood, come on!

  • I love this guy, I wish I could remember the important film he did before his well known roles in PB and Clueless.

  • @julyraeofsunshine you are probably thinking of "My Dinner With Andre."

  • @breetai3 YES! I was so frustrated the name slipped my mind. The message of that film is profound and hasn't lost value over time. Thank you.

  • This is why some people need to be actors - they're blank slates upon which others must do the writing.

  • @MrMcGuire1000

You do realize he's a writer, right? He's not much of an impromptu speaker, but an accomplished playwright and great comic actor.

  • Someone hand him a script.

  • We exist! same thing the Tea Party was saying, but it wasn't cool then

  • Even the Grand Nagus won't drink the wine that has been placed in front of him.

  • "Renowned". Not "renown".

  • NATIONAL @TAX @REVOLT NOW!!!!

  • This guy's a legend. Great stuff.

  • what a happy guy all around!

  • This is Priceless!

  • Hmm, can anyone tell me one thing he said. Holy Stoned batman!

  • That's conceivable!

  • behead the fed

  • I <3 My Dinner With Andre

  • A little stoned, maybe?

  • The Grand Nagus knows greed when he sees it!

  • @JanJmusic thats right - and I shoulda known bein a big trekkie

  • end the fed go for the head not the arm or leg...end the fed

  • I really like Wallace Shawn.

    watch?v=JXZMwcNNvrQ

    ___

It was great to see him reading Howard Zinn:

    watch?v=gGCLHBSzqLw

  • @santsuma i can't believe they haven't made My Dinner with Andre 2.

  • Wallace! I watched "The Designated Mourner" a few weeks ago and I was just so moved by his three-person play that dealt with the loss of value our society --I mean, some unnamed, violent society that was fine with simply killing the deep thinkers.

First, kill the funding for the arts ... the playwrights, the painters, the music makers and intellectuals. Second, kill the creators themselves.

Wallace Shawn mourns the loss of culture and intellect in our society. And he's no 1%-er.

  • Unacceptable? INCON--

    Ok, ok, I'll stop.

  • Isn't Wallace Shawn part of the 1% ?

  • @michaelterry1000 No offense to Mr. Shawn, but I highly doubt he's doing THAT well.

  • @yordicus I was unable to specifically find Wallace Shawn’s net worth but the top 1% is commonly defined as having a household income exceeding $250,000 annually. With Shawn’s impressive movie & Television career I think he easily qualifies as a member.

  • @michaelterry1000 i would suggest that you read Harvey Pekar's "American Splendor". I don't know how he is doing now, but he was struggling for many many years even after hits like the Princess Bride. Don't let the MPAA fool you into thinking anyone who is in a famous movie can live off it forever.

  • @DoBrigh It is true that neither one of us actually know of his wealth. The population of the U.S. is about 308 million. 1% of that population is 3 Million people. Was it really that outrageous of a statement for me to make to suggested that Wallace Shawn was 1 of these 3 million people?

  • @michaelterry1000 i don't know if it's outrageous, but it's not guaranteed that someone with an " impressive movie & Television career" is automatically rich, or even well off. besides.... what does it matter how much money he has? should we discriminate against someone for their wealth? aren't his ideas, in and of themselves, what we should be discussing? and what is his idea? that oligarchy ain't great? Aristotle said the same thing, 300+ BC. "social justice" was a phrase used by Carnegie BTW

  • @DoBrigh You are absolutely right. We should not discriminate against someone for their wealth but that is exactly what these 99% / 1% divisive protests intend to do. Why are people getting upset at the question of whether Wallace Shawn’s wealth is in the top 1% of Americans? It’s not me who is trying to cast the 1% as evil.

  • @michaelterry1000 Just because a person has wealth that does not make them any thing different than anyone else, it is what they say and stand for that is important, I'm starting to be happy that I'm not rich cause if I were I would of course still support this movement and I would have to deal with people with minds so simple that they say if your rich that makes you evil or not part of the movement, by the way The richest actors are still poooooor compared to the 1 percent who own billions!!!

  • @WhereisZEMBLA Guess your not a democrat then....

  • @michaelterry1000 no the 1% doesn't mean someone who has a fair bit of money but A LOT of money in the billions of dollars in assets and more to the point have immense power and influence thru owning that wealth.

  • @RoninDave Fine. Then go tell the protesters to change their signs.

I didn’t draw the line at 99%. They did.

  • @michaelterry1000 i'm not going to speak for a variety of individuals who have their own opinion. You ask if he was the 1% and I said no based on the fact that despite having money he doesn't control the majority of the wealth and assets in the country and subsequently control the media and government thru that wealth

  • @RoninDave Ok so the next time I want to know if someone is a member of the 1% I shouldn’t look at their income or their wealth I should contact RoninDave on Youtube.

  • @michaelterry1000 whatever floats your boat

  • that's inconceivable!!

  • @abelvilla990 "Are you sure that words means what you think it does?"
