  • I just got a message from a friend:

Friend: "I was obsessed with this commercial when I was young."

    Me: "That's because you're gay."

  • wow...i DO remember this... :)

  • If this lady is still living today, she must be about 70 or 80 now.

  • "Some sell us their furs, others buy them"

  • This commercial actually debuted around '67. It ran for years and years.

  • The Ritz Thrift Shop was torn down about 5 years ago; there is an empty lot there now.

  • Anyone remember the commercial for the new York driving school

  • A friend and I were just talking about this. We were kids in the 1970's growing up in the NY area. Ahhh...simpler times.

  • thank you so much...I have been looking for this commercial for a long time!!!

  • This takes me back!

  • That sounds like Anthony Hopkins from SILENCE OF THE LAMBS. This commercial is creepy.

  • The Ritz Thrift Shop is closed. It closed about 3 years ago and the building has been torn down. Whoever bought the land was supposed to put another building in its place, but either they ran out of funding or the lot just isn't big enough.

  • @nycdweller FYI the Ritz is open and still making great deals- they just moved! they are on 7th ave between 29th and 30th

  • Of course! I remember this commercial! I didn't spend near 30 years in front of the tv to forget it! Very sexy woman:-) I just wish she was buying a leather coat:-) you think "ritz thrift shop" is still open for business?

  • @PAM2167 still open!! Just moved to 29th & 7th ave

  • Great commercial, brings back memories of afternoon tv watching in the late 70's.

  • I totally love this commercial!

  • I grew up in the suburbs of NJ and I now live in Manhattan, a few blocks from where the Ritz Thrift Shop was located. It closed just a couple of years ago. I should have taken photos. The store front and signage were all original from the 1960s. Unfortunately, it has been totally revamped into some new electronics store.

  • Yeah, this one is a classic. One of my faves.
