People seem to be getting it wrong. That fact that Phelps is saying that Carlin is in hell and believes that he, Fred Phelps, is going 'up there' after his death, does not mean that that's the case. U know, I do believe in God. I do not agree with the religious dogma per se though. However, I think it is a useful framework for setting moral standards. Carlin's idea was that certain people are intelligent enough to accept the standards without the dogma. Or bullshit, as he put it. What he did was by no means evil. Did rape, rob or kill anyone? What Phelps is stating is that people are not allowed to follow moral guidelines without demonstrating obedience to his institution. That is immoral.

U know, I do believe in God. I do not agree with the religious dogma per se though. However, I think it is a useful framework for setting moral standards. Carlin's idea was that certain people are intelligent enough to accept the standards without the dogma. Or bullshit, as he put it. What he did was by no means evil. Did rape, rob or kill anyone? What Phelps is stating is that people are not allowed to follow moral guidelines without demonstrating obedience to his institution. That is immoral.

You know what sucks about "douche bags" like this? They will NEVER be proven wrong. To the day they die, they will believe they are right and they will be stubborn as the non-existent hell about it. And when they do die, assuming nothing happens after you die, they won't be able to go "oh damn I was wrong". No, they get to enjoy the bliss of ignorance while we have to deal with them.
