I feel left out, I don't know where any of you live. But I do know where to but potassium nitrate, also known as saltpetre. One place is clearly Lowes, but you can also find it in stores that specialize in canning, you see its used in preserving meats and vegetables. I am sure that for your purposes Lowes is cheaper. BTW my local grocery store (Martins) sells it.

@nowaycrowd You'll notice you need sodium nitrate to make it in that video. Sodium nitrate is harder to start with than potassium. What I would do, is get some solid drain cleaner (sodium hydroxide), some fertilizer, and some hydrogen peroxide (30%), cook the fertilizer to get some NOx gas, lead it into the hydrogen peroxide, and put the sodium hydroxide (drain cleaner) in the acid produced. Forgive me if I don't make sense. I'm half asleep, working hard to make stuff before 4th of july.
