honestly, it isnt that massive or filling as people make it out to be.. im not an obese monster or anything . very tasty, yes no doubt.. but for 15 bucks? plus tipping the doorman, the guy who cuts the meat and tip on the way out. for one sandwich? meh.

Went there last week.Coming from London i ordered the brisket and corned beef.I had waiter service he was very very polite.He told me i have to try what they are famous for PASTRAMI.I have to tell you i was blown away the taste and the softness.Sandwich was huge could only eat half.

I think the trick is when they slice off a piece for you to try and you like it, give them a nice tip and they reciprocate with a big sandwich.

Katz is now a ripoff. Been going there all my life (50 yrs) and know their pastrami like I know my hand... but now, they ARE definitely putting half the meat on the sandwich as was before... the waiter told me so when I asked why I was, for the first time in my life, easily able to finish the sandwich and eat half my wife's! I was told the owner has actually fired slicers for putting too much meat on... that the workers are actually embarassed because they know customers are NOT happy!

I've been to Kats, and was not horribly impressed. Come to the West Coast and eat at Canter's. I went there Monday night at 2 am. Always open-Always awesome.

I'm from LA and have been to Canter's many, many, many times. I've never liked the food there. In my opinion, Langer's has the best pastrami in the world.
