They probably made that decision so no one would be afraid for the girl, who knows. Most remakes are shit. Some are good, but most are awful.

This is a certified pop-corn-coated cheesball classic from the 80's vaults, and no matter how it's remade, or who remakes it, the original has a vibe that is similar to the original Nightmare on Elm Street: yes, they're from the 80's era, but both films have a mawkish place in my horror heart...truly camp!

Terry O'Quinn makes such a GREAT psycho! The remake of 'The Stepfather' is a combination of part 1 and 2....and it doesn't EVEN come close to either of the originals. Terry O'Quinn (like Andrew Robinson) is one of the most underrated actors of all time.....and it's a damn shame.

I always liked Priscilla Barnes from "Three's Company". Barnes plays the next woman victim in "The Stepfather III". Unfortunately, Terry O'Quinn is not in it anymore. I believe he turned down reprising the role.

The third film is not as great as the first two, but it has some good suspense. I love that Terry O'Quinn, the guy is an awesome actor. I would still buy the third one on DVD if it ever became available.
