  • please can you tell me how to say Mantvydas/Mantvis in a cute form? coz thats my botfriends name and i dont know how to say it in a cute form when we flirt

  • @LOVEuBlink182

Mantvydas could be Manvydukas. If you are adressing him then Mantvyduk. However not everyone would like being adressed like this since it is mostly common when addressing children. However it can also be that a person is grown up but parents still once in a while address him/her in a cute form.

As a GF you could use words as love/darling - meile or 'bunny' - zuiki.

  • @kristytamo thank you :D

  • my boyfriend is lithuanian, and im learning a bit now :) as suprantu lietuviskai a little :D haha

  • Hi, first of all - great videos! Very instructive. I guess you meant "hare" and not "hear" as an animal, didn't you?

    Pozdrowienia z Polski!

  • @MrNettieu

    yes I ment bunny!

  • Just some constructive criticism for creating videos, try to breath and relax... forget your being filmed and try not to say "Umm" too often. Otherwise, very great video. Very informative! Thank you. :)

  • Ok thank you for telling me about Mindaugelis. I will try it and see how well it is accepted. =D This lesson is a bit confusing but very entertaining.

  • akcentas ... as dar geriau moko angliskai nors man tik 12 :P

  • I'm learning Lithuanian so I can speak to my boyfriend in this language :)

  • what should someone in North America do if they want to properly learn the language? I find it difficult to find resources.

  • what song was that at the end? :p

  • eik tu, gėgule :D

  • Gaila, kad anglai lietuvius ir lietuviai anglus moko to, ko patys nevartoja....

  • Thank you for learning away this, gives me a good start in impressing this lithuanian girl =) ačiū <3

  • Why does ŽIRNIS word not sound good for a boyfriend?

nnn I think I should be carefully that no girl calls me ŽIRNIS then :P

And as far as I know if I hear some girl naming me ŽIRNIS

maybe I should answer her with PUPA :DDD

  • Hey Kristina,

Great stuff! Are you a linguist by profession? I am trying to pick up some basics in Lithuanian as I am frequently flying into Kaunas Aerouostas, and i am having trouble with proper pronunciation.

(By the way, you are also quite pleasant to look at, actually! ;-))

Thank you and keep up the good work, Kristina!

  • @NygusUK

Thank you. Well I was a teacher for few years.

  • @12luksas

    Yes I am Lithuanian.

  • paklausyk man nlb nekesi ta fonetika ar kaip ji ten wadinas vienu zodziu :first you need lots of time working to this and than maybe you will learn correctly say one sentence

  • Why are there so many female YouTube advice givers with their cleavage out on "high"? But one good thing I got copy your accent when you spoke English. It tends to add accent to the language I pick up.

  • @usernamekjah

Well I think I am pretty decently dressed. If some of the videos were filmed during a hot summer day I am wearing a T-shirt. If you check other videos, I wear some other clothes. And my intention is definitely not to show my cleavage, somehow it appears that here when doing my videos I should cover up from neck to toes.

  • @kristytamo hmm...interesting....

  • J@kristytamo hmm...interesting....

  • @kristytamo hmm...interesting....

  • Sveiki, broliai leišiai! :-)

    Linkėjimai iš Latvijos ;)

  • @imarchello šiaip tais "leišiai" lietuviams yra įžeidimas. Panašiai kaip negrai juodaodžiams.

  • @Myfy1

Ugh... are you saying that it came out as insulting?

  • @imarchello Paldiejes ;)

  • Labas, I'm starting to learn Lithuanian, and your videos will help a lot. The word Kiškutis sounds very similar to my last name, (Kiškunas), which I always wondered what it meant. I'm assuming it has something to do with rabbits?

  • @Kisk79

Hi, yes kiškis is a hare. Actually as I have found out just now, only hares grow in Lithuania. There are no wild rabbits. So kiskunas or(kiškūnas) is a derived word from kiškis which kind of means a male hare, or the big hare.

  • @kristytamo Oh, thank you very much for that. It's interesting to find out things that your family never had the chance to tell you.

  • the most geriausiausiaua daina!!!

atsiprasau for my lithuanian but you know what I mean :)

  • Šaunuolė!

  • @chaosas123

  • @VarykGerai

    kiek as zinau tai vartojamas.

  • @VarykGerai

Rasytė yra vartojamas standartinėje lietuvių kalboje. Rasikė yra surusintas lietuviškas vardas pridėjus rusišką priesagą.

  • @VarykGerai is kokio kaimo esi kausas ???? jeigu rasyte tikrai naudojamas vardas, o rasike, tai pirma karta girdziu

  • @TomelisSnowman oj bl ne kaimietis. dar labiau patrollink gal pades.

  • Labas! Im trying to learn Lithuanian and your posts will enable that:-) ! I have been to classes before but this is more understandable. Thanks and viso gero

  • @petriokas

Thank you. You should look through all the older videos as well. Most of the videos are just random, it is not connected into one huge lesson plan. But anyways I hope you will learn more Lithuanian!!!

  • How would I make the name Enrika into the cute form?

  • @tosheatower

    Enrikute

  • @rolleriss

  • Comment removed

  • zveriukstis berniukstis upoksnis...nu zodziai skayciau netinkamai parinkti, nes vient jau naudojimas ju labai mazas + sunkiai istariami uzsienieciams.

  • u all are soooo cute while learning lithuanian;] great language and the whole country;)

  • Cia tu ta teksta surasei, kuris salia? :D

  • @needweedneed

    taip.

  • thankyou so much! very nice...peter in milwaukee (big smile)

  • Labai ačiū, Kristytamo! :)

My girlfriend is Lithuanian I will try some of these :D Please carry on making videos!

  • thanks :) i have one more question :P how my name is going to be if my name is Kadri ? :D

  • usually foreign names are left unchanged. But for fun we can do it

    Kadri + ukas = Kadriukas.

In Lithuanian kadras is a slip/sequence (used in films). So kadriukas would be like a small slip or used in a dialect of Lithuanian instead of kadras. Kardas could also mean a strange person (used only in slang)

  • Kadras could also mean a strange person (used only in slang)

  • how to say cheers in lithuanian :D like when i start drinking something :P

    izgerkim ?

  • if you go to the video "friends talking" or just add this to the end /watch?v=TwGPp7gAwfU you will find this word.

    its at about 1:15 s

  • labas

    how can i say

    i love liveta

  • Aš myliu Livetą.

for the phrase "I love you" go to this video:

    /user/kristytamo#play/uploads/4/t7ZmOudl_FQ

  • as myliu lietuva

  • Va cia tiu man graziausia... :)

  • trying to teach someone a new word?

  • Papai ;D

  • u haven't given a translation .... that is the wrong way to teach a new word.

  • I aint tryin to teach any1. U could understand it as a compliment ;*

  • Who could have thought ...compliments are usually writtien in a different manner, this might be the reason why i did not get it...

    Tanks anyways!

  • Ok, then, Pretty lady.

Youv'e got nice boobs ;D Gražūs papai pas tamsta, ko gi čia nesuprast ;D

  • I favorited the song at the end, thats good music !

If you like that , you should look up Invierno by Andy Caldwell and You Are Love by Lovetronic. I love that music, Im sure you will too.

    And spiders are not creepy!

  • Check Camel spiders :D they are creapy :D

Both songs are good :) I like them.

  • *creepy

  • Camel Spiders? You mean Solifugae? Those are scorpions!

But yes, they do look like spiders and they look hairy and wierd...

But REAL spiders are not creepy, ha!

  • What is the name of the song you played at the end? I like it:]

  • Mario Basanov & Vidis Feat. Jazzu - I'll Be Gone

  • Your the best ! my friends never tell me these things. Thank you very much and i will continue to watch your lessons. looking forward to your new stuff.

  • cheers :)

  • :-)

  • thanks I appreciate that.

However the topic of this video was the cute words which express affection.

And that is why i did not stress other things that you have mentioned.

What is more, it is not easy to put all the info in a video shorter then 10min, which would be informative and entertaining as well

  • -(i)ūkštis, -ė.

  • I think it should be -ėzas - vaikėzas

  • Yeah, I tend to press ž key instead of z even when the keyboard is not in lithuanian. =P

  • That was great, Thank you very much!! My friend is in Lithuania at the moment, so I have loads of time to practice! I hope she will like it? Maybe she will just laugh at me? but its worth a try! Thanks again! Iki

  • Thanks, this is actually quite helpful

  • Yay more lithuanian! :o)
