Imam Ibn al-Jawzi in his biographies of the awliya, Sifat al-safwa lists many of those at whose graves tabarruk (seeking blessing) and tawassul is recommended. He writes about Ma`ruf al-Karkhi (d. 200H):

"His grave can be seen in Baghdad, and one seeks blessings with it. al-Hafiz Ibrahim al-Harbi (d. 285H) - Imam Ahmad's companion - used to say: Ma`ruf's grave is proven medicine" (2:214)

Ibn al-Jawzi adds: "WE OURSELVES go to Ibrahim al-Harbi's grave and seek blessings with it" (2:410)!

It is all taken from a book called "Tawassul (written in both English and Urdu with Arabic text)" by the world reknown scholar, Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri (May Allah protect and preserve him, Amin!).

Imam Ibn Hajar al-Haytami said in his book al-Khayrat al-hisan fi manaqib al-imam Abi Hanifa al-Nu`man, ch. 35:

"When Imam al-Shafi`i was in Baghdad, he would visit the grave of Imam Abu Hanifa, give him salam, and then ask Allah for the fulfillment of his need through his means (yatawassalilallah)."

Imam Kawthari says in his Maqalat (p. 412) that the hafiz al-Khatib al-Baghdadi mentions Shafi`i's tawassul through Abu Hanifa in the beginning of his Tarikh Baghdad (1:123) with a good chain.

This is Situated in the Valley of Buner, the village name is Pir Baba and yes there are million of people staying there and are Ahlus Sunna.

Things are fine now in this area is now completely controlled by Pak Army now.

The Native language spoken here is "Pashto"

99.9% of the Population here is Sunni Muslim.

To go to Shrines/Graves is proven by Prophet (SAW). Prophet (SAW)used to visit the graves of shaheed of Jang e Uhud. Prophet (SAW) says in in tirmizi 203 that you should visit graves, so you can remember that you will also end up in grave.

It is Sunna not shirk. The Prophet (s) said: "I forbade you to visit the graves but [now] do visit them!"
