Im a congolese and I find it great that people feel concerned about us. U kno, my country is one of the wealthiest in the world but due to diplomatics issues it is at the same time the country the poorest of the world. Congolese, jukayis, botelema baza ko silisa biso !
the Dodd-Frank 1502 doesnt prohibit companies from buying conflict minerals, it only makes them disclose this fact in their statement to shareholders.
your facts are mixed up,companies arent directly conected to the conflict. the Democratic Republic of the Congo is controlled by armed groups: the congolese national army, the 'democratic' force for the liberation of Rwanda among other. these groups control the mines and therefore the poppulation.. they rape, steal, kill..etc and buy more fire arms, grenades,etc.. they profit from smuggling these minerals across the borders to india, china, malaysia and thailand, where companies import minerals
